☺ ABOUT THIS SERIES
In this series the Royal Enfield Himalayan is ridden roughly 2,000 miles (3,219km) to the northern coast of Alaska to the infamous Prudhoe Bay and neighboring Deadhorse, AK. At 70°N latitude, the "Top of Alaska" can be an unforgiving place, especially in late-summer and early fall when the weather abruptly shifts as the seasons fight for dominance. Winter of course always prevails over summer and fall. Snow, slush and ice were in fact on the itinerary for this adventurous trip.
As my first "true" motorcycle adventure, complete with hundreds of miles of gravel and mud, both the Himalayan and I were t pushed to some limits, if only briefly.
Join the ride and see for yourself how the Royal Enfield Himalayan holds up to a first-ever attempt at reaching Prudhoe Bay, one of the most northerly area accessible by road in the world. Expect to see some wonderful scenery, spectacular wildlife, and many friendly faces as the adventure unfolds.
I'd like to say a special thank you to Mosko Moto for helping me outfit my Himalayan with their adventure gear that truly sets the standard for soft motorcycle luggage and equipment. You guys are the best! Thanks so much!

Hahahahaha! You know, I had a premonition you were about to release another Vid just yesterday! I’ve always believed we’re all interconnected and interdependent anyway so I wasn’t that shocked to see the notification. Great cabin Justin, great place to escape too, man those grizzlies are huge! I watch “Itchy Boots” too, and after watching her for a while it suddenly dawned on me that I’d met her in New Zealand! Pre bike days. In a car park at a little church at Lake Tekapo a few years back now, crazy, but something made me remember her for more than just a fellow traveler. Life’s a trip isn’t it!

Ha! Glad you both watched. Always a little something for everyone in my videos. Well, I aim for that at least. In the end it's just the story as it unfolds. There was an outhouse to the left of the cabin. I did point it out and talk about it originally. Edited it out. Too much talking. You see it briefly before I show the solar panel and water tank.

Nothing new so I'm rewatching old episodes. Couldn't believe all the wildlife. Beautiful! We built a cabin in the middle of BC 40 yrs ago, 11 miles off the nearest road. Lots of hunters/trappers but no animals.. Very disappointing. Seeing all your MC gear piled high reminds me of the old tv series, Then Came Bronson.. he had a lone bed role tied to his handle bars lol.. gotta love minimalism.. bring back the 1960s!

If it wasn't for all my camera gear and drones, my bike wouldn't be so loaded. You can tell by my camping style I too prefer to go light. Great video Justin, the cabin rustic almost all local supplies to build it with a touch of Tech the bluetooth speaker setup was a good choice , simply no messing about with externals ,I am doing this with my garage/Man-cave this summer just like spending time working on my vehicles, I have been a Itchy Boots fan almost from the start and have seen every season 2 video and now almost every season 1, she will get to Alaska in the future to meet up with you and do some of the best riding in North America and sure you will show her lots of great spots, your trail cam picked up your muscle bound neighbour wandering around and his food entourage only a day behind him lucky them, My friend is in charge of animal control/wildlife from where he lives in Thompson Manitoba to Hudson Bay , a very large area and he told me about a mother moose with 2 rather large calves wandered into Thompson and the 3 of them bed down in someones back yard who were away on holidays and a Grizzly he guessed picked up the scent trail and found them and killed one calf and came back a day later and killed the 2nd, just crazy, so i can see why you are always alert and carry the necessities at all times, i know it takes a large Calibre and a steady hand to take down a Grizzly or Kodiak , my buddy hunts black bear here in Manitoba and uses a 308 , he says he tries his best never to shoot a sow with cubs, tries to hunt the males he says, i was glad to see the notification , you finally came up for air as they say, cheers 👍

Oooh I don't know how I missed this upload, I'll click the bell. Awesome footage! That bike sure is tempting to acquire; The Motorcycle Shop in Anchorage seems to be a RE dealer now, but as with all things in Anchorage the Royal Enfields are 1200 or more over MSRP, so :( That guest cabin for two that would at this time sleep one? That speaks to me on a spiritual level qq Looking forward to the rest of the trip!

Thanks! I don't blame you. I had a face-to-face with a sow and three cubs not long ago, and the situation went smoothly. But wow, it is no joke. People need to be in the right mindset out there. I find myself constantly listening, looking around before I walk off the deck, carrying the bear spray, etc. It's not for everyone. Oddly, the mosquitoes out there aren't too bad. Go figure.

Thank you sir! Appreciate the positive feedback. Got bad news about the new camera view. My plastic bracket broke. Heating it to make the bend also made it brittle. Your how-to videos have really helped me with setting up my REH, now that the weather is nicer I'm going for longer trips and I need to figure out my luggage. Finally got motivated, buckled down, ignored clients and got this out. 😁 Glad you found the video useful. That's what I like to hear. You are exactly right about not being able to run to a hardware store. If I didn't take it with me, it always has to wait for the next trip. That place has been many, many years in the making. Put in 3 months out there this winter. Spent most my time on client projects, but did manage to get a lot done at the cabin. Nearly complete. Thanks for watching and keep me posted what you end up deciding to do about luggage. Ride safe, but have all the fun you can! Happy summer to you! 🙂

KARMAkaze Moto 4500rpm at 100kmh instead of 5000rpm. No discernible drop in acceleration or low-down pulling power. Still averaging 31km/litre fuel consumption. I also added a K&N air filter, Lextech muffler (6kg weight saving) and a PowerCommander ECU. In standard trim the fuelling was appalling. Hunted on overrun, and stalled on a closed throttle. Brilliant now, and even delivers a slight push in the back on acceleration. PS: Your videos, and those from Itchyboots, were the deciding factors in my purchase of a BS4. Keep up the good work. Cheers from Australia.

KARMAkaze Moto Yep, it’s where I want it to be now. Major step change from a Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 GT, but I am enjoying the offroad capability. Also lifted the lower front guard and removed the top guard. With some gentle polish and elbow grease the graphite tank is now high-gloss black. Much improved appearance IMHO, but aesthetics are subjective. Ride safe.
