THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! i could totally see these roses being the background of a painting(without the stem ofc).. and i love that you put in tidbits of purple and yellow into it as it gives even more life to the flower!

I've taken another watercolor painting class (in person, in my town) and the instructor insisted we bring a roll of Viva brand paper towels. Wow, she knew what she was talking about! Unlike tissues and other paper towel brands which give different results all over the place, Viva blots watercolors perfectly and no flaking, debris, etc. Viva paper towels are the greatest for watercolors! (No, I'm not getting any endorsement $$ from Viva - I wish! Ha ha!) Hope this helps!

Dana, ( that was my sister's name,) I want to thank you for making these 3 videos. I can now say, I am no longer "fearful" of painting a rose without drawing it first. I know how to add the paint for more definition and gradation on the petals, I just have had a terrible time getting started. Your way is absolutely perfect, and I can't thank you enough. Since your address is posted here, maybe sometime, I will make and send you a nice rose card ( with the reminder of this comment.). Hope you will do more watercolor or art projects because toy are very good at it.

+cheryl7476 I'm so glad that this has helped you :) I love how "free" this method is and there are really no rules or no outlines to fill in. Flowers are something I struggle with sometimes but when you can just let loose and not worry about all of the detail, it's much MUCH easier! xoxox

наверно азиаты увидели что вы делаете светлые участки не кистью а салфеткой и наставили вам отрицательных отзывов. мне понравился данный урок. просто всё показано. я считаю что можно пользоваться салфеткой как художник захочет. он как художник имеет право. красивые цветы! спасибо за урок!

Loved this tutorial! I'm just getting into watercolor painting, and love your style. The key to these roses is in the details, adding shadowing and highlight with the right amount of blending. It was a great tutorial. Thanks so much for sharing your gift with us! P.s. I have black kitties too... was a little panicked when a black fur got mixed up in my BEST rose... then remembered your words of wisdom and picked it off when it dried. haha.

Thank you for this very useful video. You have a nice presentation style. FWIW, I found the background sound underneath your narration distracting and annoying; you don't need it. Very jangly--it detracts from, rather than adding to, your narrative.
