This was a WONDERFUL day on the river with LOADS of wildlife to look at, beautiful weather and a ton of nice fossils found! The weather this part of Florida has been relatively cold (one night reached 20 degrees!) lately, but we had a single day of warm weather in the 80s that we had to take advantage of. It seemed like all the different animals and birds were also taking advantage of the unusually warm day after so much cold which made for such an enjoyable time on the boat. As for the fossils, we loaded up on Pleistocene age fossils and Bri found a fossil she has never found before. An absolute trip-maker, for sure.

@@kerrypitt9789 Out where I live, they peck holes in huge saguaro cacti as well as in trees--- way more in the cacti, though, they're good places to live if you're a bird. We've got one kind called a Gila Woodpecker that's pretty big and really bold-- if you get too close, they'll divebomb you and scream at you.

Woodpecker are such funny birds, I’ve had one in love with my car for three years, he gets so sad when I borrowed it, at first I thought it was injured, because he didn’t fly away, but he didn’t let me get too close to him Esther, but then I realized it’s his reflection, he thought TheRE was a pretty hot bird in my black SUV

@@PaleoCris Hey Cris & Bri'...HONESTLY...this is 1 of your most interesting videos yet. IN EVERY ASPECT...IT IS TRULY AWESOME!!!! In a very recent video, you both were in your canoe & came across the decaying carcass of an alligator. You mentioned it in this video as well. Since watching that video, I've been wondering ??WHY?? Bri' didn't take the skull from that alligator skeleton. I know she has a passion for wildlife skulls. Dear Bri'...PLEASE reply & tell me why that skull wasn't added to your "cool" collection. One of my dreams since I was a child was to go diving in crystal clear waters, exploring an underwater cave, and finding a complete or near complete crocodile/alligator skull. Since I live in a place where neither can exist naturally, I unfortunately won't be able to ever get to do that in my lifetime. Videos like these scratch that fossil-hunting itch that all people have once they start to learn about dinosaurs and prehistoric life. Those childhood dreams might never get fulfilled in your time on this earth, but there are countless others who feel the same and are able to- and some of them post videos on youtube for others to enjoy and consume. Thank you for that.

Beautiful video! I love the beginnings of these, with all the wildlife that you get shots of; have you ever considered setting up a trailcam at one of your fossil sites and coming back in a week or so? Might find some interesting live critters on there too. Best part for me: THAT SPRING. I've swam in many springs like that, and I remember the immense *push* of a really strong one-- there's a fantastic spring in the Pahranagat Valley in Nevada in a tiny town called Ash Springs that's the water-source for a pretty large chunk of the state, and it's just as clear and gorgeous as the one you were at-- but you can't approach it, the outpour's too strong. Got some beautiful hot springs in there too.
