Don't mean this personally, but because these are imo nasty marketing tricks I want to point them out. 1: It's rarely a good goal to be very sore after a workout, as accumulated soreness without rest will easily lead to injuries. And, yea, you might not get sore from a 1kg dumbbell from a few reps, but if you do it all day I bet you will be sore. The soreness depends fully on the whole workout how it's structured and not just the weight. 2: Becoming sweaty really doesn't tell you anything about the workout. It tells you more about the temperature in the room and what your core body temperature is. Point is, these aren't valid arguments.

It’s made very well so you get what you pay for in my opinion. For the technology and engineering of the product you can’t expect it to be cheap.

Positive resistance only???
@MahdiKefayati4 жыл бұрын
Does it feel like resistance bands (increasing force as cable extends) or cables machines (constant force through the movement)? Also, did the price go up in the past month? Advertised prices at CES looked about $100 less.
@MAXPRODetroit4 жыл бұрын
Mahdi Kefayati MAXPRO does not feel like resistance bands.. MAXPRO has a smooth, constant resistance at what ever level you set it at and you can start your pull for various exercises at different pull lengths without the resistance changing during the pull. Also, MAXPRO has resistance on the pull or concentric movement only, and little resistance on the return. Yes we had a special price during CES that was lower.

Thank you so much for the response! This is s really innovative product but given its limitations it is really hard to justify the price for me. There is definately a novelty factor to it and I love the connected features of it and I can see a day were my strength training workouts will have thd same data fidelity as my bike rides, runs and swims in my garmin system. It does not replace a gym membership or even a budget home setup so I guess I need to wait a bit until it hits mass production. One very interesting use case I have thought of is dry land swimming workouts.

I'd like to say that this product you guys have invented is an amazing idea, i could see you guys being on shark tank one day. Matt did say that there is no eccentric contractions, can you confirm that? How important is eccentric contractions when it comes to building muscle
@MAXPRODetroit4 жыл бұрын
KeepInTouch thank you for your comment!! Yes you are correct that there is only resistance when you extend the cord.. on the concentric motion only. There are a lot of studies on concentric vs eccentric for building muscle.. in short, MAXPRO is very effective on building muscle. But if you are interested in the science behind it, please see the white paper links at the faq section of our website at: maxprofitness.com/pages/faq

@@galesal1109 We are considering other resistance mechanisms for future models, but they would not be as lightweight or portable, because they would need to be plugged into an outlet. But there is an opportunity there for sure

Did you say that the is no essentric resistance with this? That would be a huge fail and useless if so
@MAXPRODetroit4 жыл бұрын
Hello. Yes, there is no eccentric resistance. We recognize that, for some people, this is a huge deal- and for some- a deal breaker. But, for what we built, a portable, lightweight and versatile fitness equipment unlike anything on the market- we knowingly gave up the eccentric resistance- to get the small (portable) package. Many scientific studies* have validated the incredible muscle building and toning benefits of CBR which are proven to be comparable to the results achieved through free-weights or cable machines. Also, because MAXPRO users don’t normally experience DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), which is basically the pain people feel in their muscles two or three days after a workout, MAXPRO users can workout more frequently and at a higher work rate for higher performance and quicker results. Please let us know if you have any other questions :)

@MAXPRODetroit4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. We are definitely open to considering changes as our products and digital programs evolve. Were you aware that every MAXPRO unit is engineered for the toughest workouts? Our units allow for resistance levels from 5lbs to 300lbs (4.5kg to 135kg) but weighs less than 10lbs (4kgs), the equivalent to a full room of bulky equipment that would cost thousands of dollars. In comparison, we believe our price point is economical for the value. Please let us know if we can answer any questions, and as always, a 14-day no questions asked trial period with every purchase.

Thanks Martin, yes this prototype had the weaker center hinge that allowed for over-travel. We have since improved the design to eliminate the condition for our next prototypes in July.

Hi John. The MAXPRO chassis is actually made from an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy which is necessary to hold the 300-pound max resistance but still allows it to weigh less than 10 pounds. MAXPRO is brand new to the market and had already won several awards for its innovative design. Its patent pending PowerClutch mechanisms allows you to quickly adjust resistance from 5lbs to 150lbs on each side. The MAXPRO cords have a break strength of over 1200 lbs and are made of the same material as the next generation of bulletproof vests. Our built-in electronics and sensors communicate to our MAXPRO Coaching App to relay details of every rep of every set of your workout. Valuable workout analytics allow you to track your progress over time and help you to meet your fitness goals. In short, MAXPRO is a very versatile machine, unlike anything on the market before. With the MAXPRO, you can do strength, cardio, plyometrics, suspension, and stretching with the MAXPRO at home or anywhere!
