In today's episode, we work on the Front Main Seal (Crank Seal) Remove and Replace. Very common issue in N54's if you allow the oil filter seals to leak, causing the oil to drip on to the accessory belt causing premature wear. This in turn causes the belt to break and the physics of it all cause it to get driven INTO and BEHIND The front crank hub and literally get sucked through the main seal into the oil pan, where it clogs up the oil pickup, thereby starving your N54 of oil. This causes the engine to eventually have accelerated wear on items like the crank, cams, and any other moving parts, eventually BLOWING up your engine!
