NEW 3.13 CHANGES:
- Essentially no changes of any kind this league. Chieftain was very slightly altered. Tasalio lost some life regeneration but gained a bit of additional physical damage taken as fire.
- While I don't recommend league starting this, it will still be a powerful choice for later in the league!
OLD CHANGES:
Heist Changes: Overall looking great!
- Changes to curses shouldn't heavily impact Asenath's Gentle Touch. Should still perform as expected.
Alternate Quality Gems to Look For:
Blade Vortex: 20% chance to create an additional Blade
Dash: Grants Phasing for 2.0 seconds
Second Wind: Supported Non-Instant Skills have +1 Cooldown Use & 10% Reduced CDR
Gem Changes:
- Link Enduring Cry to Second Wind for a bit of cooldown recovery speed!
Leveling Changes:
- Blade Vortex really starts feeling smoother after you pick up the skill effect duration cluster Potency of Will and add Unleash support.
- I recommend using two Axiom Perpetuums for early leveling.
- Some of the support gems included in the Level 1-12 setup won't be obtained until a few levels later. I recommend a setup like this:
Holy Flame Totem + Infused Channeling + Added Fire Damage
or
Purifying Flame + Arcane Surge + Added Fire Damage
Other notes:
- In retrospect the builds single target performance was overrated and is closer to a 4/5 with the recommended gear.

I just discovered this channel. Huge fan or your content. Your able to explain systems and methods with ease. Its important, at least to me that the content im feeding myself is from someone not only knowledgeable about the game, but highly socialized as well. Always loved your builds and explaining. Very flexible options and an understandable way of how to make things work and predict the budget you will need for it to work, even if you're pretty new or newbie to make a lot of currency early on. By this, i mean you help to enjoy the game as it is and pick one of the builds you've introduced to us. Moreover, mods you list that are needed for a certain rare item - that's crazy thing -> it helps me to make a pre-sets of items i need/will need and to monitor the values on the market. If i'm following your build - i'm always up to look at your timestamps for items/sections i need to improve :) That's a huge work, man! My respects for your efforts and time! Cheers from Ukraine!

First video of yours i've seen, so first off i like your voice lol. Second off i really like how in depth you covered everything. The pacing of the video felt smooth, i think that is partly due to your vocal cadence. The pastebin actually has multiple gear sets, something a lot of people forget about. I think i might try out a jugg variant with a xophs(The only problem i really see with this is the lack of fire leech, but hey, that's what happens when you consider deviating) and then respect if that feels lackluster. The only things I think you could have done to make this even better would be to have included trade searches or a bow crafting guide(Not that there arent already a thousand of those) or a link to a filterblade filter that you set up for leveling this character. But with this detailed of a guide that really would have been incredible. Just thought i'd mention it. Thank you very much for the guide. Cheers!

Edit - fixed a mistake i made.. Going cyclone asap till i coulf get 3B 1G blade vortex up worked well for me. Also went straight for dps nodes not the starting tanky nodes esoro said, it works fine so far. Act 8 now, cause i went out drinking 😂😂

I haven't played PoE in a year and a half or so and got the itch again. I was looking for something to get into wanting to play again. The detail you put into your video is top notch and seeing how fun it looks to dominate maps did it. Awesome work man.

This guide is absolutely bananas. I followed it and am basically melting A7 conquerors. BTW, wanted to add that jewels with % increased fire + % increased life + % increased area damage are more effective and cheaper. A Global phys + Life + Area can cost hundreds of chaos, but you can find these for like 15-40c

Hi Everybody, So I was messing with the POB and I think Zealotry is the wrong choice for this build. If you take anger + a watcher's eye that gives you fire %physical as extra fire I get about 8% MORE damage this way. The downside is that those watchers eyes are about 50c so its a bit more investment and you lose consecrated ground. Since this build doesn't use a watchers eye in the base POB I would recommend looking into the watcher eye mods. You can offset the loss of consecrated ground by using a bottled faith which will help with EO uptime as well.

Going to tell you this When i saw this build i was like, okey i might try this one.. Then when the league started, after some days i was checking the price of the gloves, and that is a big part for this build, i was like, how the fuck am i going to get this much currency. Got 2 kids, can play like 4hrs when they go to sleep at night. Yeayea i started to grind to farm, then the exalt price started to drop, i farmen chaos, chaos chaos, traded for exalts, got the gloves, and the rest i history. i have killed alot and i killed sirus. Thnx esoro for this! This build destroys, i got the herald effect to!

Just "finished" playing the build (moving on to a different one) and had some thoughts for others looking to try: - The gloves are very expensive this league (hovering 15-17 ex) but are at least holding their value so if you're done playing the build or don't like it, you can sell them within a few weeks for your original investment. - You can snipe the "ideal" bow this league for about 10-12 ex or so (probably less if you find the base with open suffixes and pay a crafter to put the rest on for you). - The amulet in particular though was really hard to find under maybe 15 -20ex. Maybe because it's only week 2/3 of the league and I also wanted life and some stats on it. - Tailwind on boots was nice and proc'ed often because my main gripe with the build was that when I don't constantly hit enemies, I feel painfully slow. For that same reason, toxic sewers was my favorite map to chain with the build because there's almost no backtracking and all of the enemies are condensed. - Elusive on boots feels wasted because the boots proc on 10% of all crits. When your crit is very low, that 10% chance becomes even lower so I'd say skip that stat entirely. As a note, I didnt have the "crit recently" enchant on my boots so maybe that would make things better. - I ended up at level 93 with 6700 life and life is huge for this build. Even with all of the other defensive layers, the moments where you see Esoro dipping to about 1K life in the video means that if you have less than 6500 or so, one shots on higher end content are entirely possible and can happen often. So it's pretty much mandatory to have 7% inc life on all jewels. - I think I'm missing about 20% damage if I fully upgraded the rings from herald of purity rings and got all of the awakening gems but for the cost, the herald of purity rings (2 ex each) do just fine vs the expensive ash ones (9-12ex each). - There's no real room for a cast on death portal setup which sounds silly but running back through a map on a marauder is really slow and annoying lmao. So when I was doing tropical island delirious maps, I would have checkpoints to set a portal up in case I died (happened maybe once every 5 runs or so if I was slow to dodge an explosion) - I ended up buying a "corrupted blood cannot be inflicted on you" jewel so I could switch the flask of staunching to a flask of warding. Getting cursed in maps often made me so slow (temporal chains) that I didn't even want to play that map or way squishier (any of the damage taken curses) than I otherwise should be that I'd die to one shots. So honestly I would personally opt for curse immunity over freeze immunity if I had to pick between the two. But that's player preference I guess. Overall, solid build, you will have to manually dodge mechanics still so don't trick yourself into thinking you're as tanky as a shield build or a Jugg. Feels amazing when it does work though (high clusters of enemies, dense maps), so use sextants and use them often for more packs.

@Jakir Ansari I don't use a mana flask because the build recommends a helm that gives you energy shield as mana meaning you don't have those issues. Until I got that helmet, I did just use an enduring mana flask instead of one of the recommended ones. You'll have to make the call about which one you drop/replace

@@kythox6521 For explosion, the cheapest non-6 link body armor is 300 - 350c so about 4-5 ex. You just gotta scrounge up the chaos for it eventually or maybe temporarily invest in a lot more AOE to make BV on its own feel a lot better before you can afford explosions.Like the explosions from herald of ash should still be killing packs without the extra explosions from items. The items just let it chain much better.

Ran this build last league and am running it again this league with a few changes. I found a synthesized bow with enemies you kill explode dealing 5% of their life as physical damage. Normal explode is 3% so this is an upgrade. I took off asenath's and am running fingerless gloves with culling strike. I removed the culling strike cluster notable and replaced it with one that grants unnerve. I found circle of anguish with flammability and buff effect (wanted curse since not using asenath's). There is the extremely expensive version with inc fire dmg + buff effect and either flammability or elemental weakness implicit, but those rings are 100ex+. Asenath's gentle touch does not chain as well as normal explody, but it does provide a layer of defense that i dont value, but you reading this might. Getting an explody chest drags survivability down. So, explody on bow allows better chaining, more survivability with kaoms heart, and allows another pair of gloves. Also went with divine flesh for 80% chaos resistance. This is something I dreamed about last league and with harvest it's possible to cap cold, lightning, and chaos resistance. So you are pretty tanky when it comes to most things. I am currently sitting at slightly over 6400 hp with headhunter. With an optimized setup and 3 more levels (I'm L97) I should hit 7k life. Not bad at all for a chieftain. I am using headhunter with it and it clears really well. It can kill sirus decently (yes aw9), but do not expect boss killer type dmg. I have not tried super juicing a 100% delirium but from my experience last league, 100% delirium is NOT something this build can reliably clear. Double beyond even with headhunter? Forget about it. Id like to try 100% t10 or lower map and see how that goes, but forget about t14+, unless you run the sextant that lets you spam vaal skills with no soul gain prevention cooldown and you can spam vaal blade vortex/vaal righteous fire for clear, but thats not really fun, its just a clunky solution, imo. You can run also defensive sextants like gloom shrine, instant life/mana potions, etc, but you will have trouble clearing with offensive sextants that add more monsters to your maps. If you are interested in super juiced t16+ 100% delirium, try assassin fire bv for that kind of gameplay, as the gearing is similar with a higher investment ceiling for much greater results. For everything else it's a jack of all trades. I'm currently farming legions in new vastir and it does that really well. May try a pair of poison immunity boots with the poison sextant and see if that's enough dmg for 100% delirium. Still need to see how that will pan out.

I just wanted to say that I've copied a high budged'ish version of this build. Dex stacking was a bit difficult aswell as coloring the bow. (Duo to the difficult colors, I am pretty much using a 5 link atm because I couldn't get all 6 sockets in the color I needed). My Chieftain was level 82 when I began (I never play this class); I could still breeze through 300 Delve, T16 and killed the Crusader without any problems. This is before using the 6L setup and while still having lots of skill points to use.

I would've quit PoE ages ago if it weren't for your videos keeping me interested and them helping me understand the various mechanics of the game. The editing is so straightforward and not some overcomplicated chart, instead explaining parts of the build one by one. The Path of exile community is really lucky to have you. This looks great but noone is gonna get those socket colors on a bow unless they know what they are doing. I think this guide would have been well served by a quick mention of how to overcome that obstacle. I suggest going by vorici as leader of research, or incremental socket crafting the colors on the bow before 6 linking.

Good that you said it. But I think a nice 6-link rare body armor with some life and resis is easy and cheap to get early. Even in SSF with Div Cards. This should easily clear most of the content or bring you to the stage where you can farm a lot till you get a good bow + vorici ready. So I suggest getting a Bow with great: "+ support gems" without worrying about the links and a 6-L Rare with much Life till you can swap. But yes: For newer players this will be confusing and frustrating if they don't know how to progress or obtain the bow.

To further add: For the endgame Oblivion Bow you just need in average 594.6 Chromatics to get the right colors. For the Mind Horn around 4100, Storm Rain 4900 and for the Silver only 257. So it's doable

Nice guide once again Esoro. One thing about fire exposure, the exposure from other sources than wave of conviction is often (pretty much always) 10% rather than 25%. It's really confusing that it works this way but it's obviously a very important difference between the two sources of fire exposure. Influenced weapons have this downside as well. The build is clearly not hindered by it, but I thought I'd at least clarify so that other people don't fall into the same trap I did in metamorph.

@@blackcloud03 well it did jump from 100 chaos on august 14 to 330 chaos on august 15. First month of the league, it was somewhere between 6 and 15 chaos. When this video came out, it was 65c.

This is by far the best build i've followed yet, a baby could follow this build, you have EVERYTHING laid out. I usually just picka a build, get a decent tree, skill gems, and then "must have" items and just go by myself. I do kindof regret starting as a league starter though cause those gloves are skyrocketing haha!

Ive been playing this build for 3 days and im only missing the cluster jewells, but i wanted to know how we sustain mana on long bosses and how could we bump some more survability cuz even whit 7500k hp and 6 endurance charges i get a lot of one shots in t16 maps.

Mana shouldn't be a problem the helm gives you eldritch battery so as long as you can go a few seconds without being hit your es is spent as mana. Sounds like your over spamming vortex

The Gloves are only for defensive layers. So farming up currency should not be a problem

@@Apokarimon that's wrong, the gloves are for clear speed. Without them you will be a lot slower in maps! This isnt a great league starter but a great second char!

Definitely weaker then advertised when it comes to bosses with Maven. Both damage and survivability.

Was having the same problem, I swapped out Koams for a 6link cwdt set up with flamm,eleweak,wave of conv, hextouch, and combustion. Problem is the duration of the debuff isn't great. I've noticed there is defintley a ceiling for alot of the posted builds when they come to heavy unique usage. Still great videos though.

@@nightsmusicuk just ED, contagion, soulrend in a spellslinger setup. Can use wither totems on bosses or blight totems with a spreading rot jewel, or even just blight on its own. Normally beest to have ed or the blight in the 5/6link. trickster ascendancy. If you look at cutedog's channel I think he did a guide a few months back with a POB attached

This might just work... what if you do this with dark pact and skeletons, you can use a poet's pen to summon skeletons with an apep's rage on an assassin might be able to inflict some descent poisons, thanks for the idea!

@@baesmuth6067 best way around this is to go low life with shavs. can take the passive on the tree that grants more damage when on low life and run a couple of auras like malevolence and zealotry. if that's not enough maybe 6L blight has better dps but I haven't checked

ChefAero true, although to be fair exalts are worth absolute dirt this league, so that’s more equivalent to the buying power of like...6 exalt in a normal league, maybe 7. By this point in a normal league exalt are worth like 150-160 chaos, not the staggering 60-70c we are seeing right now.

@@chefaero5272 impossible, do you trade? if u don't have premium tabs u can always use trade chat, sell for few chaos less than what the market asks. Here is an example for those who hardly make any currency. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nLuFjbedna2nhZ8.html also here is another video on how to make even more if you combine both methods. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbtjnc17vamzc40.html also another thing. just trade everything good you find and don't need for chaos, don't keep it for future build etc. get a good starter build like - ed contagion and farm yellow t9-t10 You can invest 20c in a chaosSlinger and zoom through t10 15hrs of farming t9-t10 will buy you a chieftain bv that can zoom through red maps. but the farming should be hardcore... sorry for the rant, hope it helps

G G thanks for the help, and I do trade, quite a bit actually, but I think this season I should have started doing bulk trades and then the other hard part is knowing what is valuable and what isn’t you know? Some enchants / mods are worth a ton, most worth nothing. Also should I buy stuff for my build with my chaos as soon as I can, or save up for a big ticket item so I can jump up to higher tier maps? I only have a couple watchstones to go, I was running a Volatile Dead Witch, super strong, but wasn’t cutting it for bosses, so I switched to Righteous Fire and I have to say it’s pretty fun!

This build zooms through maps but honestly the bossing is terrible. 10 boss maven fight is near impossible, with 35+ex invested. So if you wanna boss kill with this, I would suggest another build

Without being an expert in PoE: I would say nothing really changed for this build. Neither the ascendency got a major nerf nor bladevortex . I think you can still play the build as it is in the video and it will be still a viable option.

U can start with bladefall blade blast chieftain and craft some gear for blade vortex and respec later (after easily getting explosive chest with harvest crafting). Plus endgame bow will be so easy to craft

@@yosi1653 These gloves are also 8 exalted orbs on HC Harvest, so as a workaround for levelling (until explode body armor, which I saw go for 2-3ex) I used Quecholli along with Vaal Caress with Vaal blade vortex, gives +2 levels to BV. To workaround not having signal fire until then, also spent some points near marauder tree for 40% phys-fire conversion. I mean you do lose a lot of damage and 2 possible extra links on BV, but for levelling it definetly works as a super cheap alternative. EDIT: I'm just dumb, disregard the unique explodey fire mace and use 2x Obliteration wands at lvl 56 for some proliferating explosions, increasing clear speed.

@@binocular2011 yeah. Its fine clearing maps up to T16 as shown. Its not bad for farming currency. However, map bosses will kill you fairly often cause your damage is low and so is your survivability. I think i could clear everything including map bosses up to about T13 or 14, but everything past that was a roll of the dice and i basically was dying every other map with exactly the gear he recommended.

@@PresidentOfSpace Esoro is pretty known to oversell and underdeliver on a build's strength. Great guides for newer players, but as someone with 10k+ hours it's really easy to pick out where he's exaggerating or even straight up fibbing. My favorite part is at 3:36 where he says the build is viable for HC, right before he gets blasted down to 125 HP by Phoenix and doesn't die by some grace of god.
