You read that totally right.. I paid these panhandlers $40 today! They were travelers who were panhandling near the Iron Mountain, MI Walmart just as all have before, but these guys seemed different.. They had dogs and even drove a car, but they also had a story about helping a friend who was stranded in the woods. Maybe I got screwed, but I did get their stories which I think are important to learn from... I guess you'll just have to watch and see what they said and why I gave them money!

Two good interviews. Far more interesting than the people who want to hide or run away. Seems like they were honest about the lifestyle, camping, traveling, and being a little creative about how they raise money. This episode made me consider that all the panhandlers are not the same. Keep up the videos, I'll be watching!

I think %99 of people would agree, but obviously substance abuse is an issue for them. It's hard to keep a job if your drunk or high all the time.

@TRexTaytay I have been there. I am a veteran with knee injuries from the Army. I was cut off my pain medication and ended up buying shit on the streets. I got to the point of flying a sign as they call it. It was so embarrassing I had to turn and hide my face sometimes, especially after getting money because I felt so horrible. I got into treatment pretty quick and got my life back on track.

Honestly. This man seems like he has more figured out than most of us. granted he doesn’t have the comfort and safety people with regular lives do. But he seems much happier than 99% of people I see and seems much more honest and wholesome as well. God bless you and him. ❤

I'm happier than I've ever been. I met my wife on the road, we have 2 kids and a school bus now and are working on buying property about 2 hours from where this video was taken. I also got off of drugs living this way. It's not for everyone but it did a lot for me.

From all the videos I've watched I could tell right away that you have a heart....a no bullshit kinda guy which is becoming a rarity this day an age! Thinking of heading the 6 hours to come to your lovely community with my dog and daughter and do some panhandling for some of your local charities in hopes of meeting you!😃 Be Well Sir and keep up the great work!!

And also, I'm a traveler who panhandles for a living. My question for you is, I've been all across the United States and have never had a General Manager under any circumstances offer me a job, as a matter of fact I've had many Walmart and McDonald's workers and managers offer me money and food rather than a job. See a problem with this picture? I also don't imagine there's places for rent on every corner. Imagine being homeless with 2k and submitting a rental application, pay the fee then get denied. Doesn't make you want to work.

These young people have a lot of heart . There not just out there to take , they will share with another who is in need . Jason you gave them more than just money , In return they gave you something money cant buy . Its a good feeling that will stay with you . I did that one time when my Fridge quit on me because all I needed was $25.00 to get me another one and I didn't get very much about $8.00 and that was all so I had to wait until the 3rd of that next month to get one and now I've got one and it works real nice even though it is used but I don't care

I'm 65 and a dog owner as well as homeless but i never had to fly a sign and asked for anything everyday my dogs past present and future will alwas eat 5lbs of real chicken l had always been against pimping the dog with them saying God bless like they give a damn

Well done Jason, you sure handle it the right way. Give them your best and they will give you their best. I love their story and you'll know if there bulshiting you. Down here where I live, going to work I'll see 4 on every corner specially on the exit ramp. Some get mad at you if you don't set eye contact with them and will stand right in front of you so I get on my phone and call the police and I tell them move or talk with the police I hope it don't get that bad up in U.P

I have to admit that I give to panhandlers a lot. I have twice in the past two weeks. I just like to see people happy. I was filming a train in Cincinnati and a guy came up and asked for money. I just got back from Burger King so I gave him a Whopper. Lol. I think its cool that the one guy said he rides trains. That would be interesting to film him getting on a train.

Hello from Montana. Me and the wife watch your videos all the time. My wife is from lower Michigan. The Milwaukee RR use to run by the Ranch well it was 3 miles North of the Ranch but you could still see it. We like the one today about the young panhandlers and there dogs. Very nice video! Love that you traded money for a story, which I could feel was legitimate (Love hearing about the free style life from both of them). The best thing in the world for dealing with most Panhandlers is never give them money. On the expensive side, you could have bought the battery for them (A+ suggestion). Giving gift cards for food (Buying their dog food) or even fill their tank for them (like the guy mentioned). As soon as they say they'll would rather have the money....RED FLAG (in my book)!

Hey!! I use to have a vehicle I lived In With my husband and my dog, she would go with me to panhandle.she loved it and I'd practice our obedience and tricks out there too bc I'm a dog trainer and she loved showing off also I'd get dogfood for her more w her there. We worked together as a team.

Some people deserve the benefit of the doubt that’s called compassion but these people that use kids and lie enrage me I have literally ran them off corners by whipping out my sign these jack asses usually have a really big dude show up to try to run me off doesn’t work even ignorant people in the community will yell at me and accuse me of being racist and classist they always end up leaving I have good freinds that ride freight trains they truly do not have the mental capacity to function normally in society they deserve compassion and not to be cast in a bad light

A descent wage? A decent wage for me when I was your age was to go join the military for 30 years. Now when I go to a drive thru the cashier puts a tip Jat in my face but can't take the time for putting in napkins or a fork for Cole Slaw, so you tell me where is the problem

I've never turned down a days work but I don't have time to wait 2-3 weeks for a check with 3 days pay on it so I panhandle unless I'm offered work for the day. Also, do you even know how few people actually qualify for military service in the first place? It's not exactly a walk on position.

@@jasonasselin hey Jason, fan of yours here who has had to constantly deal with panhandlers on My job site and am going through hard times due to loss of hours at my work and can't hardly even afford groceries ( I don't receive benefits of any kind) I'm still employed but for a diff company now...I was wondering if you could help with any portion of the 91 dollars I'm short of keeping my electric bill on, down here in South Texas we easily have days that are in the mid 90s to almost 100 degrees.
