In this video, Myself and some friends take a walk through Lady Clough before making our way over to the B29 plane crash site on Bleaklow. A 14 mile walk taking in some of the best views in the Peak District.

Lovely day you had for it. Stunning views once you’d got to the Roman road. Wow, the crash site was moving. We really enjoyed walking with you. Cheers 🍻

lovely to see you out. I hear ghosts have been seen around that crash site too. I've not been up bleaklow for three decades but it still looks great. A year since your pennine walk. I remember discovering your channel on your first upload for that marathon. It was great as we helped you along. Loch lomond is nice and used to hold the British pike record. Quite boggy where you were lol. Good luck with future walks, i hope to do offahs dyke one day. Cheers

Hi Kelly. Bleaklow is one of my favourite places. I do like the remoteness of it all, although the crash site is a very popular area as it’s become a bit of an Instagram favourite. Offas dyke does look like a nice trail. A friend of mine has recently walked the first half and his photos were fab. Thanks very much for watching 🙂

Great vlog; we got lost up Bleak Low - completely lost our bearings and ended up at that air-crash site, a very sombre place. Then had to climb down a very steep hill and followed the stream to get back where we started. Enjoy Scotland.

Thanks very much. Yes, I know the feeling. I’ve lost my bearings a few times on Bleaklow. It can definitely get disorienting when the mist is down. Looking forward to Scotland. Hopefully, there will be a video or two to follow from there 🙂

Hi Anthony, looked a great route to the crash site apart from the bog, noticed you lads let the ladies find the bog first LOL, lovely views and still have not been to the site been on my bucket list for years, nice to hear your still planning vids for the future and enjoy Scotland, cheers nigel

Hi Nigel. I did try and warn the ladies about that boggy area, but they opted not to listen 😂. Hope you get to the crash site at some point. Definitely one for mid week though if you want a bit of peace and quiet

Nice bit of Simon and Garfunkel thrown in there 👍 (did YT have any issue with that? 🤔). That's a fair old walk I'd imagine Anthony, especially with a lot of height lost descending towards Old Glossop. Still, that route back up Bleaklow via Yellowslacks is a cracker. Enjoy Arrochar.

Hi Chris. No issues with the music clip. I don’t think YT pick up on any of the really short clips of music. Having said that, if YT do pick up on the music then in most cases it just means you can’t monetise from that particular video which isn’t an issue for me as I’ve opted not to monetise. It was a good walk of around 15 miles in total. It’s a great route up isn’t it? One of my favourites for sure. Thanks for watching as always. It’s much appreciated 🙂

Thank you for sharing this Anthony. I’ve heard a lot about the crash site, it was good to see. It looked like a very worthwhile walk. Looking forward to your scramble.

Hi Tony. It’s a very popular area so you’ll have seen plenty of photos no doubt on social media. Unfortunately with its popularity, it seems to attract a lot of people who fail to recognise the tragic circumstances surrounding the crash

I always find it incredibly sad when I walk by the crash site, where 13 US Air Force personnel were killed when their B29 'Over Exposed' crashed. Unfortunately it was not the only plane crash in the Peak District during WW2 and the Cold War.

It sure is Phil. It’s a very sombre place isn’t it? I’ve visited quite a few of the place crash sites across the Peaks over the years. Thanks very much for watching

Brilliant walk Anthony, great day for it weatherwise. Poor Jess in that bog! 😅 Still need to get to that crash site myself, as well as Wain Stones, all on my to-do list. Has it really been a year since you did the Pennine Way?? Where does the time go. Hope you enjoy Scotland, that'll be fab. Good luck with Wildboar Clough 😃👍

Hi Patrick. I did feel a bit sorry for Jess and the bog episode! We had a good laugh about it though and she was fine with it appearing in the video 😆. I can’t believe a year has passed since the PW also. It’s definitely been a trip down memory lane for me this month. Thanks for watching 👍

Really interesting area of the moors to explore. Wildboar clough is a tough one and is indeed the toughest scramble in the Peaks. I believe it's a grade three. I've done it in good weather and abysmal weather (not alone) and if you find that the crux is too challenging there are ways to skip it and go around. I have (perhaps stupidly) done the crux in shite weather, but not recommended unless all members of your party are confident climbers and fully first aid trained. If the weather is good it'll be hard, but certainly manageable for an experienced hill walker. Look forward to seeing that one pop up on my subscriptions page!

Hi Jess. I re-watched your video of Wildboar Clough a few weeks ago to remind myself of what to expect. It does look quite challenging in places and bits may be a little out of my comfort zone. Definitely one I wouldn’t tackle alone the first time that’s for sure. Hoping it will be quite dry and I think I’ll probably skip around the most difficult bit for sure! Looking forward to giving it a go though. Thanks for watching 🙂

Hope you enjoy Scotland, Anthony. A shame you won't be able to fit a long-distance walk in this year but hopefully in 2023. Plenty of time to prepare. ;-) All the best.

Hi Olly. Yes, I’m a bit sad that I’m not doing a long distance walk this year. I think part of the problem is the Pennine Way was so epic, I think all of the other trails will feel a bit underwhelming in comparison which is a bit silly really. Hoping I find the motivation to sort something for next year. Hope you’re well mate? I’ve enjoyed following your adventures on Instagram and Twitter recently. Looks like you’ve packed a lot in this summer 🙂

@@AnthonyJohnson1 I can understand what you say. Perhaps only the Cape Wrath Trail might compare to the Pennine Way?! But I feel that one's a different adventure altogether! I'm doing okay, thanks. Returned from the Lakes on Saturday. Hoping to get four videos out over the coming weeks.

@AnthonyJohnson1 Жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin. The route taken was down the old Roman road path from Doctors Gate. Just before you get to Old Glossop there is a path to the right shown on the map as Lightside which takes you back onto Bleaklow. You make your way past a place called Dog rock which is fantastic. Some amazing views from there. After that, it’s off piste until you get to Wain Stones. It’s a great route up

@@AnthonyJohnson1 thanks! I definitely want to go to dog rock. The views are amazing. I’ve only gone up bleaklow once from glossop direction but that took me via cock hill and then joined up with torside Clough part way up. Always great when you find out there are great places you haven’t yet been to! Good luck with wildboar clough. I’ve never gone up it but I’ve been to the top of it and walked along Lawrence edge. Some great views from there
