The main reason that Peckforton Light Railway has not suffered the same fate as other narrow gauge railways in the UK during the Great Depression of the 1920s, is that it has a several buoyant lineside businesses which use it for the transportation of their raw materials and products. The PLR is a hypothetical three foot narrow gauge railway set in the Cheshire countryside. It is a garden railway modelled in 16mm scale on 45mm gauge track.
