Why would you even bother renting to someone who admitted to you they were no good at cleaning ?

So glad I am not forced to live with anyone and endure other people's drama, bad habits, messes, pets, noises, excuses for not paying their share, my things missing, etc. Having your own place/space and vehicle is everything.

I believe the guy he brought up the bed bugs and he told them they were fleas because when the judge asked the landlord about the bedbugs he immediately started talked about fleas and ignored the bedbug question just like the plaintiff said he said to him

This case was almost funny. two miserable men winghing about minor items when in the midst the tenant had Covid. The tenant said "his new landlord said they had never had bed bugs before". Ha! Ha!. Nobody would ever admit it especially to a tenant. Their attitude to Covid is appalling. How many others got it because no precautions were taken?

Instead of going to bars, the plaintiff should get a studio apartment and a cleaning lady. 🙄

I have my own home and I think about getting a roommate. When I see these cases It's clearly not worth it

FYI bed bugs can be in the uhaul you rent from the last person who used it...very hard to prove how you got them

I should have sued my landlord/roommate…. He was a legit nightmare… punched me in the back, had a physical fight with my fiancé (atm) and had cameras in our apartment and my fiancés underwear in his ceiling.. I was lucky to leave there and he has since passed

No one is necessarily good at cleaning...it's just a matter of doing it! It's not some fine art or anything! Thanks dude for being so irresponsible with spreading the virus!

If cleaning is such a big sticking point (and I don't blame fols for it), then you need to write out a clear agreement of the exact chores each person needs to do and how often, and all initial it and keep a copy. Then there can be no confusion about what is expected and when someone is falling short. I think people who don't clean let it build and build til it's a misery to get back into shape. They don't understand that cleaning the floors once a week takes far less time, cumulatively even, then trying to get it back to nice after 6 months without. Cleaning things often enough to maintain 'clean' is far less time consuming in the end.

The judges are just so adorable together! As one of a couple that has been married for nearly 36 years, I can see why they have lasted as long as they have, they are each others yin and yang. I also thought Judge Schlesinger was child like, dropping the news about the pinball in front of 'Company', banking on her not giving him grief about it, much like a parent might react!

In our City the movie theatre had a bed bug problem for months. They can come from anywhere (cabs, movie theatre, furniture store etc). When we stay at a hotel (which we don't like doing) we have a change of clothes ready and waiting on the back step. We empty our luggage outside and lay it out and we change and hang our clothes on the outside line. 10 minutes of precaution saves months of aggravation.

I believe the plaintiff was a dirty little hamster & had to be hounded like a teenage boy to cleannup after himself. He could have gotten bedbugs from his piles of clothes he carried back & forth from a neighbors house since he was doing his laundry at a neighbors house the last couple of months.

A Swiffer mop is NOT sufficient on OLD WOOD floors because they are uneven and the mop head is hard, doesn't give like a soft mop would. PLUS, a Swiffer mop leaves residue on the floors. I only use mine on vinyl floors and I still use a regular mop in between because there is residue buildup and I need to get it off. Marilyn, I'm sorry but you're wrong on this one. I cleaned professionally for 20 years and used every product under the Stars and the Swiffer is convenient but it is NOT a replacement for a good floor cleaning. Bona products for real wood floors work well but if they haven't been sanded they still may be uneven and the Bona mop head is also a flat, hard surface that does not give and will not clean uneven wood flooring well. Get down on your knees, it's the best job that can be done.
