Thorgi, people already know that the Phantom Thieves' leader is called Joker. In Persona 5 Strikers, Akane, Zenkichi Hasegawa (Wolf)'s daughter, said that Joker specifically is her favorite member of the Phantom Thieves. EDIT: Also, people figured out that Persona 5 takes place in 2016.

I think haru would also be a fun way to implement techinal attacks since psychic is the most versatile element for technicals

I'd really like to see Ken in 5 Arena. I know he's not the most popular P3 character - but like, he's the same age as the older phantom thieves! And his epilogue said he'd rejoin the shadow ops after he graduates high school, which he would have done at the end of persona 5, just as Haru and Makoto (and Akechi, if he didnt disappear at the end). I think if he plays similar to how he did in ultimax, ie with koromaru, then he'd have interesting interactions with the p5 cast because DOG (who would be old as balls but still around)- but also particularly akechi, whom he has a lot in common with, having virtually the same backstory, but with the friends who stopped him going down the same dark path akechi did. He even kinda looks like akechi, with the long brown hair, preppy clothes and canonically pretty features - so an excuse for him to fight people would be him repeatedly getting mistaken for Akechi 😂 idk i just think it would be interesting, funny and cool to see him all grown up

Heavy disagree with Ryuji being a Glass Cannon considering in his games he's always the one with the highest endurance stat and typically takes more hits than the other thieves and keeps going, so being a glass cannon just feels wrong for Ryuji. Also why not use Lavenza when she's shown she can fight during her superboss battle in Royal? and frankly I want to see her in her idle stance holding a Fucking Chainsaw nearly the size of her body because it's awesome and hilarious and it would be cool to have her normals all involve the chainsaw. Basically I want Lavenza in a fighting game because of the contrast of a little girl coming at you with a Chainsaw like a Psycho which would be much greater contrast compared to the twins due Lavenza's more mature nature. Other than that, I can agree with a lot of your reasonings for the play style of the other thieves with Makoto and Haru sounding pretty awesome.

Honestly I think all three of the villains that Nyarlothep recruited would probably betray him at some point. Adachi is committed to making ammends in accordance with his own rules and has had a pretty clear change of heart (hah) since P4 as shown in Ultimax. He was undermining Sho's plot and even helped defeat the main villain of that game the whole time. Sho also learned his lesson about teaming with giant eldritch gods when he almost died from teaming with one and while he did say he wanted to kill Yu we also know the way he bonds with others is through violence. Finally as you already said Akechi doesn't take well to being bossed around and values his will over everything else. As an asside I'd like to argue against your assessment of Lavenza. Yes she is generally calm and collected but remember she also has very hotheaded tendencies as evidence by the fact that Caroline part of her personality. You can also see from her secret boss in Royal that she can freely split into the twins at will and has a penchant for Chainsaws. Personally I think theres a lot of potential for a moveset in that.

KANJI SANTA! Make some part of the story happen during Christmas, and similar to how Yukari got involved in the story while using the Super Sentai outfit, make Kanji be suddenly involved in the game while using a Santa outfit and a bag of toys instead of a chair

Some disorganized thoughts on the video: This was really fun to watch, and I especially like how you naturally tied Personas past and present into one coherent plotline. As much as I'd love to see Kanji in the game, Yosuke is stupid popular in Japan and overseas, and there's no way he's not getting into a P4A sequel. The fun thing about that roster of villains is that not only would Akechi turn on Nyarly, but Adachi would join in, since he's trying to redeem himself after P4. Sho might also betray him, but I don't know much about him.

I feel like we need more representation with persona 1. If we're gonna include one more then Nanjo would realistically work. I mean the Kirijo group was apart of the Nanjo group until they split up. With nanjo coming from a rich background, we could see how he turned up. Hopefully he's #1 in Japan. (Side note, seeing his ultimate persona would be sick considering its his butler)

I think having the Reaper as a support is a cool idea, but ultimately one that denies actual characters a chance for representation. I would instead make Maruki the “evil” rep (justified maybe by Nyarlathotep giving him his desires back), and for the middle one, have it be Chidori. She canonically has very similar abilities to Navigators, so I think it only makes sense. Also, for Maki, I think it’s strange for the only P1 rep to be a support character. I’d make it Baofu instead, or replace one of the fighters with Kei or Eriko.

I have a crazy suggestion for a Build the Roster episode: So you know how Arc System Works made Dragon Ball Fighterz, a fighting game based of a Shonen Jump IP. So how about a "Build the Roster" episode on an Arc System Works fighting game that crosses over characters from several Shonen Jump IPs? Basically, J-Stars or Jump Force as a traditional 2.5D fighter. Not sure what they would call it, I just know I would love for them to make such a game!

The 2016 thing also links up with the ages of the characters, Futaba was born in 2001 so by 2016 she'd be 15 the same age she is in game.

I think you could have a really funny moment in the story mode with Teddie getting a call from Yosuke complaining that he skipped work and Junes. Would also be a fun cameo for Yosuke.

Shame you didn't get to cover Nyarly's playstyle, the dude is definetly enough of an oddball in compairson to the other characters in the series that it would be an interesting tought experiment in trying to figure out how he would work in a game.

Raidou also makes a ton of sense because he and Joker share so much of their design DNA that they're practically meant to meet each other.

If you really want Jack Frost in there, I'd say having Jack Bros in there as a team character fighter would be a good choice too. It would be interesting having a 3 character fighter though, maybe make it so their attacks alternate which one is attacking, like have them in a line but each time you press attack button the next one in line jumps in front to attack with each one having their own unique attacks & specials giving you a lot of variety for combo potential. I think Demi-Fiend would probably been a better choice then Raidou. Not only was SMT3 one of the best selling non Persona games in the series they just released the remaster making him a good marketing tool because him game is actually available for sale & it might get a few fans of SMT fans that aren't Persona fans to jump into the game as well. And maybe his "Persona" could be Dante from Devil May Cry as he is a recruitable demon in that game. Though if you want to keep it in SMT, apparently SMT3 has demons that evolve and 4 of them he summons as a boss in other games (Pixie, Parvati, Cu Chulainn, & Arahabaki). It looks like all his unique moves use HP instead of MP, so maybe have his specials drain hp, but his "Personas" can restore his health. Both Pixie/High Pixie/Queen Mab & Sati/Parvati learn the Dia spells so either one could work.

I think something I would love to see in P5Arena would definitely be playable palace rulers that summon their shadow monster forms instead of personas . Imagine Okumura playing like Doctor Doom and summoning out worker boys to swarm the opponent . You could also have Shadow Futaba seeing as she is not in the base game performing Egyptian dances and wrapping the opponent in bandages like a mummy while summoning out her mother in Griffin form . Also Demi-Fiend would be so cool to see with a gimmick that has him summoning out multiple demons to perform different moves .

Thank you for pointing out that Arcsys makes small rosters. I’ve seen tons of request for Arcsys to do certain anime franchises, but they don’t even think that the rosters will be mediocre due to the low amount of characters that arcsys can make. Example: I’ve seen people request a Saint Seiya game made by Arcsys. That franchise has too many popular characters, and to make it justice, you’d need at least a starting roster or 25-30 characters. Including the 5 main bronze saints, plus Seiya variants (like Goku), the 12 gold saints, and a couple extra popular ones, and make 3-4 villains at least (even if this franchise needs like 10 villains). You really need a big roster to make it justice. Do I wanna see an Arcsys made Saint Seiya game with less than 15 characters? NO! You may accuse me of preferring quantity instead of quality. But for certain franchises, you REALLY need a big roster of characters due to their importance to the story and popularity. And Arcsys’ usual roster size will just make hardcore fans complain. Heck even with DBZF having Bandai money, people still cry about basic characters like Raditz and Dabura not being in the game haha.

So my idea for if the P3 Protag would be using the Cognitive Echo thing from Persona 5 R's DLC fights against the 4 & 5 Protagonists. Funnily enough it would also allow for Teen Yu and Adult Yu to be separate characters with different movesets.

I've always wanted Dojima. A brawler/hybrid grappler that walks around with his jacket over his shoulder and his cig in his mouth. He fights mainly with one arm to hold his jacket. He can throw his cig as a projectile. He can whip you with his jacket. Nanako assist.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but:I think I remember that people already know who Joker is, even his real name, since he served in prison for a while and had a trial. Another correctiong, if I remember well, the original Tatsuya from Innocent Sin didn't "disappear" (at least not in the good ending?) he just went back to "the other side", he even tells Maya and the others that he will work to make his Sumaru City (the one on his original timeline) great, even if that's all that's left of that world. BTW I feel like if a Persona 1 character would be included other than Maki, it would be Kei Nanjo since he's quite involved in everything and is ALWAYS ready to throw hands over stolen Persona/Expanse research and tech... he would be specially alarmed to hear that Maruki and others can rewrite reality so "easily" after all that went on with SEBEC and the Kirijo Group making Tartarus appear etc. etc. He not only knows all of the P1 and P2 cast but also Mitsuru and others in the Kirijo group, he's probably a Shadow Operative himself, and if Katsuya, Tatsuya or some of his other dear friends got in trouble he would be there so f0cking fast, Nanjo has no chill whatsoever. It would be so easy and so justified to put him in any of the new persona games... the easiest to slot in there other than Mitsuru or Naoto really. Also to finish I just wanted to say I could had never thought you would chose Raidou for that last spot but I'm so down for it he's one of my fav SMT characters goddamn! I totally thought you were gonna say Demifiend even though it was clear you were jokinly making it obvious it was not going to be him, I just had no idea who else in SMT could be that iconic.

I was thinking akechi would make a great dlc character, as i can see some great interactions with a lot of the cast. He’d be a stance character in his normal crow form, with some zoning skills, but when his persona evolves into loki he goes full rushdown. Or he’s just a stance guy

Chad Nurokami? I think the phrase you were looking for was "Man Whore." A term that not only the fans sometimes call him, but is what his Velvet Room attendet canonicaly calls him in the Anime.

i think the showtime animations could work like the dual heat attacks in JJBA: EOH. each character has two segments of a showtime attack, one for if they're the character currently in the fight, and one if they're not. for example, if you pick mitsuru and teddie, then the two will preform their own segments, with mitsuru starting it, and teddie ending it. BUT if you pick ann and morgana, they'll have their own unique showtime attack animation together

This was a really nice concept for what a P5 Arena game could look like, but I'd have one major exception to what you suggested. Personally, I'd have Labrys and Mitsuru swap positions on the initial roster/first wave DLC. I know Mitsuru is an iconic P3 character, but Labrys was born in the Persona 4 Arena game, and it'd be a bit of a crime to not have her debut in the next sequel right off the bat (and as I say this, I will acknowledge that this suggestion does come from a place of MASSIVE bias, since Labrys is my favourite Persona character and I love her). I don't think you'd even need to change your story setup that much either, just have Aigis and Labrys be sent out on this mission together. After all, Mitsuru is the head of the Kirijo Group and the Shadow Operatives. She's a busy woman, she might not be able to just rush off personally to deal with this. But two separate Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapons? That'd be ideal. After all, Labrys was shown to join up with the rest of the P3 crew and the Shadow Operatives in the P3 Side ending of P4AU. So, having them both sister units run off on adventures together makes perfect sense.

I feel the older characters wouldn’t need much change from Ultimax Of course they’d need reworked designs but they’d just need to be dragged over with minimal changes and perhaps animation changes to show their age

For unique showtimes, I feel 4 is a good number for each character (If the complete cast from P3, P4, and P5 were here). It allows a character to share a showtime with two characters from their own game, and 1 from each of the other two. Example: Makoto would have Ryuji and Haru from P5 just like in Royal, but also Naoto from P4 and Akihiko from P3.

I love seeing you go crazy how they manadged to put personas in a fighting game when there are multiple JoJo games with stands

Idea for how nyarly would fight as a regular character: his standard form would be shadow Tatsuya, and his night howler/true forms would be his special/super moves/persona. However, his regular moves would have him transform into another playable character's shadow and use their respective move, with the same input. But since his other moves use the shadows of other characters, his combo threads and setups would be unique. (Tldr Double from skullgirls)

Maruki ended royal as a taxi driver. We could have him drive somone to the main setting ( I'm thinking yu) explaining why he assists in battle. Reaper could be working with narlie's demons.

Fun idea for the two proposed versions of Joker; the good one is Ren Amamiya, and the evil one is Akira Kurusu. We can canonize the manga name for Joker, attaching it to a completely new character and he can be another Fool Arcana with an inverse persona to Arsene; just named fucking LUPIN. Ren should play kinda like say, Seth from Under Night. Also, if Goro Akechi isn't in this game, we RIOT.

Constructive criticism: If you're going to put a spoiler warning and timestamps in the earlier section of the video, you should really keep that in mind if you're going to mention that info later on. In this case, the Tatsuya talk near the end of the video. I was one of the ones who did skip the Persona 2 section because of spoilers and didn't appreciate it being casually mentioned near the end and without warning.

Personally I'd have Akechi develop into a full Anti-hero not have him return as a villian. That seemed like the next step they would take if they were to bring him back, he'd be the atoner looking to make up for everything he's done but still have a hard time being open and prefering to work alone. I'd also confirm that the Akechi that was in the third semester was the real one too.

Maybe try to add P3 both Protag, Strega members, Ryoji, Shinjiro and along with other deceased people's appearance as one of the multiple false Joker's disguises to taunt the whole cast in storymode. His move set is the combination of deceased persona user along with original moveset. it's basically the Street Fighter 5 Seth but with the moves from deceased Persona. His special is to copy opponent Persona moves and use it against them. His block counter is using Messiah as a way to keep away or follow up Down attack is Moros dropdown at the opponent Air attack is using Hypno deny opponent to jump. For his dash is Castor charge at the opponent. Obviously, those Personas are the fake version, This method can satisfy the fandom and at the same time doesn't break the canon.

I like the idea that Tatsuya on this side is a secondary character who accompanies Katsuya and Maya in their role as a police officer, showing positive and cheerful opposition to Tatsuya on the other side, having fixed the position of his arcana. Tatsuya feels how his companions are always attentive to him when something strange happens, and this time they seem to hide a bigger secret from him, a curiosity that leads him to be manipulated by Nyarlathotep and used against him. In the end, this Tatsuya faces his shadow, unlocking his own Persona, making Maya and Katsuya finally understand that they don't have to live worried that the other Tatsuya will come back if something goes wrong, and they can trust telling him what happened fifteen years ago

For guest characters here's who I initially thought would he one of them: Demi-fiend (using one of the demons from smt nocturne) Nero from the Devil May Cry Series (with Vergil taking the place of his "persona" instead. But instead of the real vergil, it's the Phantom vergil that nero summons with yamato as his devil trigger in DMC 4) And for Nero's roster select, the announcer MUST say: "NERO, FROM THE DEVIL MAY CRY SERIES!!!"

I can see Adachi wearing a prison jumpsuit that's shirt is open lazily, he has a small scuffy beard and disheveled hair to indicate he's just chilling, he might have been recruited by the villains but he already did that in the first Arena game, so he's just using this opportunity to stretch his legs and explore the outside world outside of prison for a week before fighting Yu and losing, he might have actually gone a little easy because he doesn't care about the villains plan and is kinda pals with Yu at this point so once he's defeated he's just like ''Oh man, you beat me? Aw shucks, guess i'll just have to chill in this break room drinking coffee until the cops come to take me away.'' and he'd just take a nap before the cops take him to prison again. Or he could be a freeman at this point because he was only in prison out of his own words so he might have gotten a small sentence, in that case he's propably just wearing like a regular slacks, tshirt and works for like a gas station to allude to Izanami.

46:13 there is a spin off manga of a older Naoto (it didn't do too well because of certain story elements) but the design is practically of the same description but more sleek with a full-on suit, no hat, and even longer hair

This was a very fun video to watch. While it may be the equivalent of an hour long fanfic pitch, it was an entertaining one with a solid basis... also may or may not be bias towards the picks for P4 picks in the base roster and just say they were great.

While this is a very realistic concept, I still choose to dream of a game with all that you said, all the original characters, as well as playable Maruki, Nanako, Zen, Theo, Margaret, Konoe, Strega, and Metis. Shit, throw in Vincent Brooks.

I'd personally go with Tamaki Uchida over Raidou though. After all, she's the pioneer of high school-induced trauma in the Persona franchise.

I'm surprised that there wasn't even a mention of Kamoshida considering the guy is the first boss, was important to the creation of the Phantom Thieves and how much his plot impacted the players. Watching people play the game he was clearly the one who stood out the most to those players. He even kinda made an appearance in Persona Q 2. Also i'm surprised you didn't mention anything about the Persona Q games.

As my favourite Persona 5 character, I would absolutely throw Yuuki Mishima in there as somewhat of a "lethal joke character". Not only does he share a surname with arguably the biggest family in fighting games, assuring plenty of room for gags and references, but he could also pretty much play like Phoenix Wright from Marvel vs Capcom 3. Instead of gathering evidence, he gathers intel, requests and comments - and while he sucks when you haven't fufilled this requirement, he becomes Shadow Mishima once he has, essentially turning him into a beast. Plus, it would be really funny to see him doing EWGFs and hellsweeps.

Had to sub to this channel not just because I'm a P5 fan, but because this sequel was constructed so well. Seriously wouldn't complain about a P5 Arena exactly like this.

10:11 this is incorrect, during one of Yu's victory quotes against Yosuke he mentions that him and Yosuke fought by the riverbank and this is only possible if you get him to rank 10. So it's cannon that Yu at the very least did max out his social links with all his party members and this was addressed in an interview The real explanation why the P4 cast has their starter personas is because It was much easier to animate them because of their more cartoonish designs, The in-lore explanation as to why the P4 cast has starter Persona's is simply because they got weaker overtime with no using them as they had no reason to as opposed to the P3 cast who still did Persona work as the shadow operatives 1:01:43 Edit: Sadly Adachi would most likely NOT return as a villain, In P4AU they had an entire dlc named Episode Adachi that served as his final piece of development where it showed that he went against Sho because he didn't want somebody to repeat the same mistakes as he did and by the end he is on good terms with Yu Narukami. He's willing to except any form of punishment for his crimes so it would be out of character for him to regress back to his villainous ways, not to mention he still has a trial pending because the police can't recreate his murder methods so that disheveled beard wouldn't make sense as he's technically still not in person

I definitely want to see Akechi but including him as a villain completely ignores his entire character arc. Why would he want to join some rando or “get revenge” on Joker after he already acknowledged that they’ve settled things. If Akechi hypothetically came back he has absolutely no reason to be antagonistic towards the Phantom Thieves.

Persona 5 is based in the year 2015 and there's an easy way to prove it. Persona 4 is set in the year 2011 and in a scene in Golden Rise mentions her turning 16. In Persona 5 they mentioned how Rise recently turned 20 so going by that it's set four years after the events of Persona 4.

Kanji should be come a somewhat Santa like professional wrestler who’s a hero to his community and local children and supports people in town and showers kids with gifts.

Maya's redesign is sort of obvious. She dual wields guns and her over all aesthetic is brown and cream color with the heart motif. Use a similar design, same boots same hair, but age her up. Give her a pant suit instead of the skirt, but same color as the boots, with a cream colored duster with the heart motif, a bit understated, but intact. Mitsuru looks like a combo of rich heiress and secret agent. Maya should look like a combo of hard nosed reporter and old west gunslinger. Also keep those pops of blue. Blue tie. Blue gloves.

Give all the Phantom Thives a Rebellion Gauge instead of the card mechanic, and also give them their guns, but make it so they dont just camp out opponents. Ie, give them limited ammo for a round, make the quicker ones do no knockback or hitstun (fox laser), Let Morgana angle his slingshot.

The funny thing is 4 personas not being evolved is actually just because it was easier for ace sys to draw. Yeah.
