@@PacificReportThe disputed water you are saying is legally binding with the Philippines in the 2016 Permanent Arbitration in the Hague. The Crazy China choose to illegally patrolling inside the PH EEZ. The narative of Chinese is completely false and misleading.

a please do your due dilligence properly. There is a velarde map which was dated on the 1700's that was presented to an international court of arbitration. This alongside with the other concrete evidences plus the fact that under UNCLOS, and mind you, China is also a signatory to UNCLOS, it says that all coastal states are entitled to a 200 nautical miles of "EXCLUSIVE" Economic Zone. Does the word exclusive means nothing to you? That is why, even China did not participate in the arbitrarion because it knows that they have a weak claim over the West Philippines Sea. The Velarde Map aside from being super old and legit, it has all those paracel islands surrounding the Philippines. If China is willing to go historical on this issue then the velarde map is more than history. Its pure evidence of the legitimacy of Ayungin Shoal being part of Philippine Teritory and as stated in the UN Convention on the Laws of the Sea.

First as a colony they have no sovereign rights. Secondly when Spain so the Philippines to the US. The islands was not included. 😮

UNCLOS 1982 doses not work retrospectively. Instead it reinforced the Chinese claimed. Since the Sovereignty of the area has been established after ww2 under the new world order. The 1982 UNCLOS reinforced that whoever has sovereignty over the area the surrounding water is their EEZ.
