The plaintiff and defendant used to be very close friends. She says the defendant asked her to buy a phone and put it on her account, but the plaintiff said she would do it only if he paid the bills. She even reported it stolen because he wouldn’t pay, and now she’s suing. The defendant is countersuing for pain and suffering and defamation of character.

Right? The issue with those options is they require you to buy the phone outright most of the time when you’re having a prepaid type of plan. If dude hit me with the “I got good money but bad credit” I would have just said cool you got enough to buy a phone & go prepaid then because no way in hell am I putting a grown adult that’s not my SO on ANY time of monthly payment plan I have. No phone, no car note or Insurance, power bill, none of that mess haha.

There's nothing wrong with helping people out and doing favors for them. However, If you have friends that you can't trust to put their phone if your name, then they obviously aren't friends you need to have. Whether you're hooking them up with a phone or not.

@Hades Fake contract, he acknowledge he didn't breach the contract. Does he look like a person who would sign a contract? He didn't want to buy the phone because it came with a contract. He has a phone he didn't pay for and thats called stealing. He's paying the bills but not for the cost of phone.

@Hades Stop he didn't own the phone, and she had the right whether contract or not to shut it down. The contract was for the purchase the phone not the use. So this is how it happened. She had the phone disconnected the first time because he didn't pay her for buying it. To get it reconnected he paid her some of the money and she gave him the pin for him to gain access. I checked with sprint he would have to get the owner of the phone credentials to get to reconnected. Another month passes he does it again but go to the store and pay only the bill for the service and not pay her for the phone. So she change her pin, and disconnect the service. He no longer has access to the account. All he had to do was pay for the phone and he wouldn't be in court.

I think that the plaintiff had eyesfor him and became jealous when he recoiled with his wife. She submitted a fake contract which takes from her credibility. The case was very messy. JM should not have awarded money to either party.

A lot of retailers let you buy an iPhone straight out, and if you want service, you can get it prepaid without them running your credit. There are prepaid options that give you unlimited talk, text, and data, and it’s often cheaper than if you had a plan. There’s really no need to put a phone in your name for someone else.

I am SO tired of Harvey’s comments, they are so boring and repetitious! He asks the same questions over and over. Most of them compare men and women which is pretty outdated now these days, for example: “do you think men or women get taken advantage of more”, “are men or women better drivers”, I’ve heard him ask that question on every car wreck case, seems like 100 times,”who’s more vindictive men or women? I hope I made my point. He seems like a great guy, but IMO he adds nothing to the show or clarifies a dang thing. And honestly i don’t ware what audience members think, it’s apparent by their answers they aren’t paying attention anyway!

Becoming good friends with the man your friend is dating, then remaining his friend on some brother/sister bs to keep it going after they broke up, then get in your feelings when he goes back to his wife, shows she thought he wanted her. The dinners and drinks at his expense made her feel courted, and she was reeling him in. She must have thought that by putting him on her phone plan she was locking him in to a relationship. Him going back to his wife made her feel stupid. She cut the phone off to feel his need for her. Pitiful. His wife waltzed right in on their date to get him back and he cut ole girl off when he took his wife back. She was hurt on the low.

I put my ex on my phone bill and we broke up like 6 months later and he continued paying for 3 months until he got mad I went out to a club and posted it on social media and he saw it. Then I was stuck paying the rest and cut the phone off 🙄😂 so yeah it was a bad idea and i definitely am not sharing any bills until I’m married

He’s right, she’s wrong for cutting it off if it wasn’t past due. The he was 2 days past the bill date, but not late per the cell phone company. However, they need to go separate ways anyway. Blessing in disguise. Wouldn’t want her with your call history anyway 😒

The defendant is most definitely NO GENTLEMAN & whoever put that notion in his head needs to stop. If a grown man tells you that he has "bad credit but good cash" but can't afford to just go & buy a phone outright then he is setting you up for a lot of grief & drama to come. Ladies, if a man is grown & can't take care of his own business/affairs then just LEAVE HIM ALONE. You will never regret it.
