The Dutchman coming out of the water, sailing side by side the Pearl then blasting the shit out of the Endeavor together is the greatest part of the entire franchise 😂

The sword that will was stabbed with (ironically) was the same sword he made originally for James Norrington. The frame in which Davy Jones released the sword after stabbing Will was just great cinematography. Really highlighted the full circle of events from the first movod to this movie.

Since Johnny said Keith Richards was partly the inspiration for Jack Sparrow, it only made sense for Disney to cast Richards as his dad!

Fun Fact: Jack's funny "Jar of Dirt" - Scene was improvised from Johnny Depp. Because of this, the actors reaction in the 2. movie was like WTF! 😳

A few corrections & fun facts (bit of a cultural/language barrier, so it's all good just correcting because I love this kind of stuff from ALL cultures): First thing to get straight, this series plays with and combines history's mythologies/legends, SPECIFICALLY that of the sea & pirates. But takes heavily from Greek Mythology mainly. - The Flying Dutchman in legend is a ghost ship that ferrys lost souls who have died at sea to the next life. A variation of the Greek mythological Ferryman Charon that ferry's souls across the river Styx into the underworld. - As far as Davey Jones BEING the captain that pilots the Flying Dutchman, I not entirely sure, but he and his locker were a metaphor for the abyss. A Metaphor for shipwrecks & drownings. In other variations he is a sort of Satan for pirates and the locker is basically hell for pirates. This series kind of combines the two ON TOP of making him the ferryman for lost souls. In the plot of Dead Man's Chest and this one, Davey Jones has corrupted his purpose of being the ferryman for the dead and gone rogue. Making supernatural deals like with Jack for the Black Pearl and kind of INTENTIONALLY creating lost souls that he will NEVER ferry to the next life out of spite for Calypso's broken promise. So heart broken he literally carved out his own heart so she can never have it again and showed the brethren court how to bind her. - The "Waterfall" the crew fall over isn't a waterfall, it's the world's edge. Long before people knew the earth was a sphere A LOT assumed it was flat and you could literally sea right off the edge of world. That's what happened there. In A LOT of mythologies (you can google image them) they actually have a sort of cosmic layout or map of existence and beyond. 3 examples being Hindu, Norse & Greek mythology, but I'm sure ALL mythologies have one. So you could make the guess that they probably fell off the edge of the world into the next plain of existence, MAINLY Davey Jones locker. - The crew is not dead, they are much alive while in Davey Jones locker. In most mythologies, the living can travel to the land of the dead or even gods, it's just VERY difficult if you're not dead, a god or SOME supernatural being from SOME realm or plain of existence. Example of this being the Greek mythological tale of Orpheus and Eurydice, which included Charon the ferryman of river Styx. - Don't know if Davey Jones locker (in this film, don't know what it's like in tales, never specified well because only dead pirates would know right? Lol. And dead men tell no tales) is the same for every pirate or it's personalized. Jack LOOOOOOVES the se, so in this universe I'm just gonna assume it's personalized and his personized hell is being stranded in the desert WITH his black pearl, never for it or him to touch the sea again. And the ship being in the middle of desert is an (not sure if JUST, but my research points to it) an American (most likely Old West, which BTW Outlaws had their own legends/superstitions and were basically the pirates of land) folklore of finding ships out in the deserts of the American southwest. - Calypso was a nymph (nymphs are basically a type of goddess in Greek mythology, but rather than representing concepts like love or strategy of war like Aphrodite and Athena, they represent land masses and areas) from the Greek tale The Odysseus. In the tale she's never mentioned as being a sea goddess to my knowledge, but considering she's in a tale about a man being messed with by the Greek god of the sea Poseidon, makes sense why here she is the sea goddess. Poseidon is the god OF the sea and she is the physical representation of the sea. So they work hand in hand. And I guess for the name sake of the series, they make her a Caribbean woman which is kind of cool not just for the connection to the title, but also sprinkling in some Vodou. Also her love affair with Jones makes sense because in the Odyssey, she makes Odysseus (the main character of the story) her immortal lover/husband for 7 years. Jones deal with her to be the ferryman could be her way of trying to make an immortal lover.

Davy Jones is a truly tragic character. And it's funny that today's reactor's do not recognize that Jack's "father" is Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, one of the biggest stars in the history of rock music for decades. [After credit scene also!]

Also the flipping of the boat and the green light is basically done in order for them to leave the land of the dead. This MIGHT be SEMI connected to another American folklore called the Palatine Light. It's a ghost ship off the coast of Rhode Island that likes to make a dramatic appearance, kind of like the Black Pearl does coming out for the water. Legend has it the ship was either the Palatine or Princess Augustus, regardless when you see it it bursts into flames and sinks into the sea. People report the light can look like a distant window to a giant waving torch. So way off from a green light in the sky singling a soul returning from the dead, but the best painting rendition of this ship is completely BATHED in green and you can semi see the connections to the dead.

Sorry that I missed the last 20 minutes. Going to rewatch. Great job Emma! The 4th film is actually my favorite because it has Edward Teech (AKA Blackbeard). Being from NC, I have studied his history. Also, definitely go back and watch the end credit scenes. They took notes from the Marvel movies, so some are after all the credits. 😉♥️
