Earlier this spring, I finally planted the row of hydrangeas I've been wanting for so long. I dreamed of making a hedge of large Limelight hydrangeas. Limelight are a paniculata hydrangea. They're the most sun tolerant of hydrangeas and are profuse bloomers!

Limelight grow large, about 8-10 feet tall, with large white blooms that open green at first, then turn white and age to a light blush color. Their blooms are one of the largest and the stems holding them are upright and sturdy. They can also be controlled with intense pruning. ⁠

I planted 18 and spaced them approximately 6 feet apart so someday they'll slightly overlap to create a hedge. ⁠

- Start with a well-watered plant⁠.
- Dig a hole roughly two times the size of the container. ⁠- Do not over-amend the native soil. The roots need to become used to the soil in which they will grow.
- Break up the roots of the plant and place it in the hole so the crown is slightly above the ground⁠.
- Replace the soil and pack lightly⁠
- Water deeply, two to three times per week if raining less than one inch per week.
