Shane, enjoy your lessons and your enthusiasm. In answer to your question about play alongs, I always enjoy hearing intro, verse, chorus, bridge, outro etc., before the lesson even starts. This way I can hear the instructors take on the song and what "extras" or riffs may be included in their lesson.

Love your play alongs; none better. Came up with a slick way to hit G9 chord with ease. In the chorus "...thought by now..." from the D to G leave ring finger on b-string 3rd fret, play regular G fingering, pinky on e-string 3rd fret. Only top two fingers move down to play the G9.. EASY. If anyone makes sense of this, reply.

This is really, really helpful. I am not a natural musician and so breaking the lesson down in this way helps me to grasp the feel and content of a song. The format works really well! Providing the play a long video just completes the lesson and allow me to put your tips and comments into practice. Yes definitely enjoy this additional aspect to the practice regime, its a great way of pushing yourself, once you have gone some way to mastering the first part of the lesson, it highlights any weakness's i may have so i can then revert back to the How to video, then return to the play-along.
