In Episode 23 of Tech Tactics Live, we're at Ralph's Automotive prepping PCA's donated 1989 911 Carrera 4 to be started for the first time in more than 10 years. Find out what it takes to revive a long-dormant Porsche.
** It was mentioned in the show that OBD didn't start until 1995 with the 993-generation 911. What was meant to be said was OBD2 started with the 993, while the 964 did, in fact, have OBD1 starting in 1991.**

I’d like to see this just restored to the level of a reliable and safe daily driver: upgrade brakes, suspension, wheels tires..so we know at that point what it took and cost at that level. Then, start looking at further upgrades.. you know, like You said, Vu!!😝 Great video, thank you all!! 👍😎👍

Indeed, but cars can still suffer from rust issues. In fact this 964 has some rust issues under the tank and beneath the front window we will need to address.

Why would you paint it before you began to work on it? Seems painting would be the last task. Now you have to work on a fresh painted car and hope you don’t scratch the paint.

We haven't painted this car. Only a paint correction. That said, if you're doing a full restoration, you'd want to paint first. You are correct that you'd have to be very careful afterwards.

We apologize for the buzzing noise caused by the shop lights, which we couldn't turn off because we needed the light for filming. We're working on a solution for the next video.
