The Dupixent auto injector hurts like heck. I would prefer the syringe because I can control the speed. I'm gonna have to just bear in mind that the pain is worth it. Maybe I'll call the insurance and see if they will cover the syringe also.

The Humira pens stung real bad too until the company made a citrate-free version. I wonder if the Dupixent pens have citrate in it too.

Same here! I tried my belly area and my leg and its the same pain pfff.. it hurts like hell.. i have to inject myself now at home and i hate it. It’s like the fluid, when it hits half the bottle, is searching and pushing a way under your skin eekk

I just took my first injection with a Dupixent pen the other day, I've been using the syringe for well over a year but my doctor sent in a prescription for the pen this time. It is quite painful compared to the syringe, but I think I might prefer it because it is over more quickly and is easier to inject. I'll keep trying it for the next few injections to see how it goes, I may ask to switch back to the syringe.

To be honest I can’t stand the autoinjector, it moves extremely suddenly it’s like a jolt so that worsens my anxiety, in fact I never had needle anxiety until the autoinjector, I had difficult veins so I always had multiple pokes every time and I was 1000% fine through all of it, but not the autoinjector, and the shakiness of my autoinjectors I feel like I’m going to accidentally set it off any time, the button rattles when you pull off the cap! Plus I don’t like how hard I have to pull off the caps on such a delicate device, I would much rather use a pre-filled syringe because it’s much more like the blood draws that I’m very used to, plus with no retractor, it’s been the case twice that I nearly lost my whole dose because it just shot out on me and you can’t measure how much you lost so I couldn’t convince my doctor to let me take my next injection sooner and I ended up in agony for over a week, I find it’s almost impossible to accidentally shoot out everything in a pfs, I am glad the autoinjector works for some people but it was very unpleasant for me. Another con for the autoinjector is that if you don’t have enough body fat then 90° does not work out well. And you can’t release air bubbles from the auto-injector, I know a bit of air isn’t going to hurt but I hate the sound

I got switched to the auto. And I like to control the speed and pull the needle out 1-2 am after putting it in it seems to make it less painful

I’m having dupixent shots with an autoinjector pen and holy moly it hurts like hell bc of the speed it injects the fluid.. you don’t feel the needle going in and when it hits half of the tube it starts to hurt so bad. I have to grit my teeth and grab something..

I feel you. I found Humira to be like that too until they started making them citrate-free. Not sure if that's the case with your shots. Either way, hope they make a painless version.

hello! lupus patient here and newly using benlysta. great video. cat tax has been paid in full. bird tax. good. one other reason I prefer the prefilled syringe is because I'm underweight and I can't the autoinjector is super uncomfortable for me to use on both stomach AND thighs. I also love being able to control how quickly I push it.... real slow. like 20 second push.

Literally about to inject myself with dupixent but I’m sooo nervous since it’s my first time. I have the pen cause I don’t think I can poke myself with a needle Edit: Okay I did it. Took a while and was shaking but it honestly wasn’t as painful as the first time. I think taking it out of the fridge longer than 1 hour helped
