The crib "The irradiation of Light" is a plaster diorama made in 2006, it is exhibited in the Museum of the Nativity in Oberstadion (Germany).
This Nativity owes its title to the play of light that was created in the large cave that occupies the entire first floor of the crib.
The cave is almost in the dark, only a few blades of light rain down from above, but from a small building in a corner a great light goes to illuminate the world: Jesus was born here.
Next to the stable of the Nativity, a stream of clear water gushes out to symbolize Life.
The cave is divided into two parts by a mighty central pillar and from the two openings you can see a pleasant panorama, closed at the bottom by a mountain range.
Some shepherds rush with their flock, attracted by this vivid Light.
On the second floor, small stone houses make up a tiny village, some sheep rest quietly in their enclosure, trees and bushes seem to quiver in a light breeze, a narrow road winds up the side of the mountain to get lost in the distance towards the mountains that close the horizon, everything shines on a serene sunny day ...
The torrent that flows through the ravine is very suggestive, you can almost hear it gurgling while hopping on the stones!
