With the post driver out of commission we are left with an auger attachment to finish the fence project. It's much more labor intensive and leaves us exhausted. To make matters worse, we start questioning how our porch step lighting project is turning out.

We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.
Our house build is documented entirely on our main channel "Wild Wonderful Off-Grid" and our family life vlogs can be found on our secondary channel "Wild Wonderful After Show"

They gonna make the top be at an angle. Flat surfaces gather water and then they rot from the top.

I know you were joking when you said you finally got somthing right the firs time, but I must say the first thing you folks got right was long ago when you two wonderfull people chose each other. It is shows like yours in todays times that reinforce mine and possibly millions of people around the world that true love does still exist and is posssible for everyone with a little efort. Love

I guess I need to get that new Hoodie! Great family, living the old school. I had a client I made an engagement ring for. Seven years and two other rings later, I asked for his new address to add to my database on the point of sale. He bought the house my Dad built in 1949. Such a small world, really You know when you meet people how very special they can be in your life. I feel this in your connection to your personal life choices, too. It was a given that we meet one day and it's all fun, even when its all just work.

You could always paint the light cases to match the steps, which will help it look not so busy during the day.

I agree with their first assessment that they should only have lights in the middle, but on all steps. Current setup is just a mess and it looks the stairs have grown dimples.

We used the same size fence posts, so either your posts were dried out more or Erin is incredibly strong because she was tossing them in the holes like they were toothpicks!!

Leon acts just like a dog. It's funny how he wants to be right with you all the time. I'm glad the baby chick survived. I love how kind you are to all your animals. No wonder they love you so much. 3:35 Erin, I was taught this back in my 7th grade math class, a half a hole is still a hole. So, you can't be halfway done, with the hole drilling, it's still a hole.

I think you guys should leave that upside down pole as is! It'll make a great story pole!🤣 Those lights came out nice. They were a bit busy but, the pattern made it work. Reminds me of a honeycomb in a beehive!😁

Fence post hint: After you trim those posts, paint the tops with the black roofing paint with fibers. This will seal the tops from rain and prevent premature rot.

Put a small solar panel on top of the inverted pole, it will look like intentional. No worries only a couple hundred thousand people will ever know😹. Leon sure is one special Ram, one of a kind for sure. Lights look great👍👍

Heres a tip for Leon and the rest of theherd...take a 4×4, leave it about 4 feet above ground, then mount a stiff street broom on all 4 sides. Leon will love rubbing on it. And when the broom heads wear out, simply replace them.
