Caleb is pumped about the recent upgrade to Elftmann's popular drop-in AR-15 trigger modules! As on the original Elftmann design, the hammer and trigger rotate on sealed bearings that give you an ultra-smooth trigger pull AND hammer release. A drop safety on the sear prevents the hammer from releasing if you have a butterfingers moment and your AR-15 impacts the hard ground. The lightweight, skeletonized trigger shoe (flat or curved face) with neat horizontal ridges rests comfortably under your finger. The NEW addition is an adjustment screw at the rear of the trigger module that lets you easily change the pull weight with a simple slot-tip screwdriver or even with your fingers - look Ma, no Allen wrench needed! You can access the adjustment screw WHILE the trigger is installed IN the rifle, which is great for folks like Caleb who don't settle on a final pull weight until they've tested the rifle at the range. These triggers are available with anti-walk hammer / trigger pins or Elftmann's Pro Lock screw system to anchor them securely in the receiver.

I have a coupoe of their SE model triggers. Smooth, crisp and no creep. Super easy install. Easy to change from curved to flat trigger. My only concern is, it feels like they have a light hammer spring. I haven't had a light strike and fail to fire yet, but it's in the back of my brain. The SE models I have just feel like they are running a weak spring. It's what has kept me from spending more $$ on the higher priced triggers they make.

Mine is about to go back for the second time. First time the hammer was out of spec so it would drop past the sear and I’d get a light primer strike every time. Now that I got it back my disconnecter is engaged without pulling the trigger. It is a really crisp trigger and their customer service was really good but it seems they can’t get the shit right

I bought one from you guys and it came with a long socket head screw (black) with a nut on it. What's that for? I didn't need it to install and I can't see how it would be used to adjust the trigger.

I remember seeing these in your SHOT show coverage, and I believe the spokesperson for Elftmann made the claim that especially light AR triggers may no longer be drop safe. Can you comment on that? I’ve never heard that claim before.
@LuvBorderCollies
@LuvBorderCollies 2 жыл бұрын
The HK-91 has the most drop-safe trigger in world history, designed that way on purpose. They were the inspiration for Glock's New York trigger.!** The Bundeswehr had a requirement the rifle not fire with safety off if dropped from the top of a Leopard tank, which was about 13 feet up. I bought a new HI91 in 1981 and totally believe the tank drop story from Bundeswehr personnel. In the ten years I had it I never was able to accurately determine the trigger pull. It didn't really need a safety with a 15-20 lb trigger but then you needed an 8'" long thumb to reach the trigger anyway.
@Pyreleaf

@@LuvBorderCollies I don’t understand how that’s relevant. I’m talking about ARs with especially light triggers, not HKs with especially heavy triggers.

@@Pyreleaf he mentions in the video that these are drop safe. They probably did what other high end drop-in trigger companies do. Which is the triggers are intrinsically drop safe because of sear engagement with spring pressure, but also added another notch on the hammer so if somehow it was bumped hard enough to barely disengage the sear, it would catch on the second notch.
@Pyreleaf

@@jpowens2253 I didn’t know that, but that’s good to hear. I’ll say again, I’d never heard that claim before, from anyone, so when I heard it for the first time from that spokesman, it made me suspicious.

I purchased one a few months back but I wasn't able to get to the range until this past weekend to try it out. I was having an issue with the trigger not resetting after I fire. I figure it's installation error on my part, but has anyone else experienced this issue? The trigger just stays in the fired position. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.
@ZeeBigPapa
@ZeeBigPapa 9 ай бұрын
There are two things that can affect the trigger rest. The trigger weight set screw, and the two allen screws that you tighten to put tension on the trigger pins. If you tighten the allen screws that put tension on the pins too tight, or you have uneven tension on them it can cause binding. As for the trigger weight set screw, sometimes you have to increase it slightly. But from my experience if the trigger seems gritty and you have to forcfully reset it, its often the two set screws that put tension on the pins. Anti walking pins can also be helpful since you don't want to put to much tension on the trigger for the binding reason mentioned above.

They currently cost around $249-$259. I think KZfaqr's do this because they know the price can change dramatically over the time that their videos will be on KZfaq, which can be years. I agree that saying "the price at the time of this video is $XXX" is helpful though!
