I love my mx28s on my jlb cheetah. They absolutely rip and really have that aggressive look. It's only a 4s truck but they are awesome in my opinion.

Driftomaniacs I don't think so Richie. They are 4 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 wide. Duratrax has some great aggressive sc tires www.duratrax.com/tires/index.html. Also check out www.prolineracing.com for different aggressive short course options as well. Those sites helped me choose a good tire size/combo. Goodluck!

Richie u should use the heavy weight test line to wrap those tires to stop the ballooning! It’s a lot easier to wrap n glue the high weight line then ungluing them n wrapping them with gorilla tape! I’m not sure if the ballooning of the tires helps the self rightning or not?

Wow just the opposite to me! I find they balloon way less than stock, that said it'd depend on how the cars geared a bit. When I had the car I did film the old tires vs these new ones.

I am thinking they are sligtly wider, I've a couple of stock ones so I'll check in the morning. They transformed the handling. I also fitted purple springs and 60k shock oil but the juries out on that mod!

Idk if I should get this the Arrma Kraton or Outcast. Everything tells me E Revo 2.0 but the durability of Arrma is amazing from what I hear.

The arrma's have a reputation for being tough. I had an outcast and it's comparible to this but more durable AND with the optional pinion the outcast comes with it'll hit 65mph. I sold my outcast but may buy another, although I'm tempted by the kraton, if high speed a lot is your thing then the kraton would be a good bet. The outcast and the erevo are easy to work on, not sure about the kraton. I've videos on the outcast, typhon, and the new arrma senton - I test the senton over some seriously big air! Any more questions ask away. Traxxas spares are easier to get hold of though

Driftomaniacs I heard about Arrma from a guy that was interested in my Monster Edition Slash, I only bought it to get the new e revo, now I'm thinking Kraton. But I can't find any other than the Outcast, which I like Im just not all that big on jumps. Thanks for the helpful info

@@facehunter504 I actually went from a 6s xmaxx to a brand new erevo 2.0 and love the erevo so far had a kraton and it was just like my rc8te I had kinda got board with it and traded it off , I actually love the erevo so far and the upgrades and aftermarket support is amazing for them !! And u can get one for 499.99 new now or find one used one Craigslist for 350-450

How well do these wear? The stock talons wear down pretty quickly for my liking. I want a super hard tire that’ll last forever and allow it to slip and slide. 😂

Not bad, BUT I'd recommend the powerhobby belted tires available in soft or hard, I think they might be a better and slightly cheaper bet!

Hi, what gearing do you recommend if switching to these tires on the revo 2? What if the gears weren't changed? Motor fail?

It would put more strain on the motor for sure as they are slightly bigger, I dropped right down to a 13T pinion as this will increase the torque and offset the extra load of the larger tires, You'd be safe just dropping down a couple of teeth from stock though. I dropped way down as I wanted the torque to try and land some multiple backflips. Hope all that makes sense>

Steve Declark honestly I would just get the Backflips. They are perfect on the Kraton. And cheaper then the pro line and less ballooning. Backflips should of come stock with the Kraton imo. I mad the change and will never go back. 🤟🏻🤟🏻

Steve I will ask in my LHS later this week as I'm wanting some new ones for the Senton as they keep ballooning then slipping off the rims in mid air, thing is it needs heavy throttle left on in the air to stop it pitching forwards. Can't wait for the paddle tire video, are you near anywhere sandy. I will send you a PM on KZfaq as I've had a tire idea we could maybe work on!

Well I’ve owned a Nero, typhoon, and outcast and I’d say it’s compatible with the outcast although the new Keaton has caught my eye

I changed the stock tyres with the badlands mx38 ( erevo 2 with stock gearing ) even the grip its way much better there are some problems like fish tailing at high speed on concrete and a strange noise from the rear diff. Those problems disappearing by switching to the standard tallon ext. Any ideas why this is happening maybe it's the big difference of weight between these 2 tyres.

the fish tailing combined with the rear diff noise makes me think it's a diff/gearing issue, I'd be tempted to take apart the centre and rear diffs. Hard to tell without seeing it / driving it. Fishtailing might be TSM Turned up too high or low

After some more tests the difs seems fine the fish tailing is fixed. Maybe it was the wind or something but I see the motor is getting to hot with stock gearing installed.

Now I'd say they are good in not ballooning anywhere near as much as stock, however I just fitted the 1/8th badlands to my Senton to test them as well, and the 1/8th ones feel like they've been made by someone else. I'd recommend these for the Erevo but if you've got anything 1/8 then dont' go for the 1/8 badlands, video of the 1/8ths coming up later this week

I see many complaining about how these tires baloon (apparently more than the stock). Although they baloon a lot are them more resistant to break?

indeed they are but I'd not read too much into that test, it's rear biased and it'd depend on what oils in the diffs as well. It'd have helped if they'd swapped them then run the test again, mine don't balloon anywhere near as much on high speed runs, indeed I've gone faster and in more control with these on. I've re watched my videos and they don't balloon as much as stock ones in real life running, I think as they get more grip there's more of a contact patch with the road, as the stock ones slip more on loose stuff they'll spin up faster and balloon more. Just my thoughts, I'd have like to have seen them swap them over. They're way braver than me, I'd never spin it up on the side without it being tied down. Think if that comes loose and the car lands on the floor with the wheels doing 50-60... now that'd be good viewing. I still recommend them over stock, the car also handles corners a lot better with them. Are you going to get any?

I'd test them to see if they fit, the 2.8's didn't fit on my recent Traxxas Maxx test. Offset too tight rubbed on the suspension. hope that makes sense/helps

@@DriftomaniacsRC Well that seems odd. You must be really nice to your rigs, because I've snapped the pins in 2 cv axles (with stock tires and 2 months of play). Forums suggest it's a common problem with the axles. I wanted to get the same set of tires, but was just worried that the extra traction would just end up eating more axle pins.

I'd love it if they did one for the head mounted gopro I used to film this! The sound is an issue as I edit in imovie, set all the volumes, upping where needed, it plays fine, I upload to youtube and sometimes it sounds way different. The gopro I used seems to ahve no external mike options. I'd love a separate one as sometimes I end up ditching a whole recordign due to the wind noise. All feedback appreciated though

They are very, very good but if fitting them go for the largest hex possible e.g. 17mm, I've mx28's I've used on a 12mm traxxas car and it shredded the inserts. The 17mm ones hold up fine though

Dhrll Sands Foster City address is 'Shorebird Park' there's plenty of on road parking and a restroom. go up the slop to the left of the rest room, about 20 yards on a path goes down the bank towards the sea, follow that for 30 seconds and enter RC (Jump) heaven!

they balloon half as much as the stock tires do, best of luck trying to tape them! They're pre-glued tires!!!!!!

The tires can be removed from the rim. 😊 Besides they are, or at least use to be, available without rims. They seem to be discontinued now though. 😒

I used acetone. Worked great but it took several days of soaking.

Ah I tried the acetone but having left it overnight it hadn't worked. Sounds like it needs much longer, that said heat here in CA would be my issue as it'd evaporate

Simply the best all round bash tire. But proline quality has flat lined. Its like they want us to blow them. They wont even sell tires only because we tape them and make them strong. 2yrs into my taped mx28 on slash 4x4 and just awesome. But the mx38 seem disposable. All tires are but they should go bald.

Do they fit on the Typhon? I'm surprised but I'd not fit them to mine, it's designed for speed with all 4 wheels on the ground. I fit badlands to stuff I go bashing with/want to flip. Wrong tires for the Typhon for sure

I gave up worrying about the music years ago. You could pick 10 million songs and someone will always moan about the music, try doing it on you own videos and see!

The tires are obviously much too heavy. (1) What your perceived as "improved" braking, which caused it to front flip, in simply conservation of angular momentum, not grip, so when you slam on the brakes and the tires decelerate, they launch the car ass over front. (2) Self righting is based on the weight on the wheels and the angular momentum that is built up in them, so of course the self righting works better... this is just a bi-product of the poor handling capabilities that comes with heavy tires. (3) When you go straight and turn sharply, it flipped over onto its side. This is caused by gyro forces acting through the wheel, through the axles, causing the angular momentum to throw the car on its side...! How can you recommend such an overweight tire that absolutely destroys the cars handling abilities? How can you not see the tires are throwing the car around and messing up its handling characteristics. Quite honestly it baffles me... Although - I must thank you for (unknowingly) pointed out, why I should NOT buy these tires for my truck.

@@DriftomaniacsRC its a WIDELY accepted FACT that proline badlands are some of the heaviest tires and cause damaged diffs and poor handling. It doesnt take making a youtube video to state that well known fact. Some of us have lives other than posting flawed videos all day.... bet you still work on your erevo the inproper way removing 5x as many parts because you get so triggered by people explaining you can do things differently and go off on them instead of learning from them
