What is the one thing Justin Timberlake and Joanna have in common... they have Attention Deficit Disorder. Although its called a "disorder" Joanna is here to help you realize that something that may seem like a negative quality can actually be positive an-.... is that a butterfly?

+pieri orchard There's no correlation between ADD and intelligence. And her teacher did the right thing by calling it a learning disability. It doesn't imply she's stupid, it merely implies that it makes it harder for her to learn because it's harder for her to stay focused on a single thing. Perhaps an analogy would help: If a person has problems controlling its bowel movements, he isn't shitting himself because he's stupid and can't find a bathroom, he has a condition that makes it harder for him to control it. You can think of it the same way, a person with ADD has a harder time learning not because they're stupid at all, they just can't focus their attention as well as most of the population.

+Luis Augusto Fretes Cuevas I don't really see it that way, it depends on the subject and teaching method of the teacher. I suffer from ADD and it can be hard to concentrate on a class if all that the teacher does talk. I had teacher that knew how to capture theis students attentions while others were simply boring.

Autism. I'm a Autistic, I don't get people, I have problems making friends, I tend to misunderstand common expressions, but I'm great at math, I'm very focused, and I don't care what other people think obsessing over fictional character's pain is awesome
@JacksG13
@JacksG13 8 жыл бұрын
+MakiPcr Also on the autism spectrum! A pro is that you get slightly enhanced senses! WE ARE SUPERHUMANS! A con is that the human body wasn't meant to have these kinds of powers so sometimes your brain feels like it's about to implode. Another con is that sometimes (like with me) we can have similar attributes as ADHD, which means doctors may or may not have misdiagnosed you (Or just tested you for ADHD and, when you didn't have it, let the matter drop). Also, sorta like MakiPcr, I'm my friends' human calculator and fictional worlds are my life.

I love all your rants Joanna, this I can relate to a lot. Most of my life I felt as having add was a bad thing. This video proved me wrong, a prime example earlier today at the office, I could be deep into my work, then suddenly my brain is like "hey does Joanna have a new video up yet?" And I'm like "oh hell I gotta check!" Which lead to watching your video, reading comments, thinking about your rants, looking up stuff on google on something not pertaining to work whatsoever, and then looking at houses. But then I still manage to get all my work done somehow! Also I'm from Venezuela as well, and I'm so happy to see a fellow Venezuelan make such awesome videos! Keep at it!

Joanna, I really loved this video because it was not only funny but also kind of motivational. It showed that ADD's can be seen in another way(a real good one, actually). My son was diagnosed with ADD and some kind of autism, and watching you trying to make people aware of this in an original way makes me feel very happy. You have turned what most of people call a "disorder" in something positive, like using it for creating these awesome jokes and videos(you were motivational and I'm not joking). When my son grows up (he's only seven) and understands English and jokes, I'll make sure he watch this video. Thanks again :)

This video took the cake. I have ADD, OCD and Psychosis (with minor anxiety) so cooping with my daily life I had to learn how to establish a time for almost everything, specially now since I am in college(take that miss Arroyo{she was a really mean third grade teacher}) I procrastinate because I get board really fast, and things I see that are not symmetrical or out of place make me want to choke myself. In the end what I actually wanted to say was this video is awesome because you showed others that being different or having a "mental disability" does not mean there is something wrong with you as a person. Thank you always for your videos. y dile a Chris que el es bien payaso :3

A pro of ADD is that whenever a teacher is talking, I can entertain myself with my thoughts. I like to write stories in my brain when I'm bored but after about two seconds of this I see something not even moderately interesting and I think hey what's that? Then my brain jumps to different jingles. The one playing on my head now is 'avocados from Mexico'. A con is when a teacher asks me to answer a question and all hell breaks loose. Thanks for the video Joanna! So relatable

I think I might have whatever that thing is called too. When I saw the negatives ( which I already go through) I was like " how can this even friggin' help me!" but than Joanna talked about the positives and I kinda changed my mind a little. My ADD likes to give me ideas that would change everything and bring world peace. Seriously, my plans would be life changing for the world! ... I just don't know anyone in power and nobody listens to me... so I'm left frustrated that the answers to all the world's problems are stuck in my head where nobody will ever find them 😂

I don't have ADD, but I'm really bad at explaining things and giving examples. Sometimes, when I think, I don't even think in any language, I just think without putting it into words. I have some great thoughts, but if someone asks me to explain it to them, it might sound really dumb. If I make a statement about how something happens a lot, I can find it hard to give an example, even though I know it's happened before.

I have a gibberish i use sometimes instead of words, especially when i'm anxious or excited. Everyone in my family knows and accepts It but i must freak the hell out of other people. And maybe try writting. I for one think better if i write things down.

I was tested Alot for add and adhd when I was young. but my therapist told my I just have an overactive imagination even up until now. she found out that reading a good book grabs my attention and my imagination is so overactive that I imagine the whole book till the whole book in my head turns into a movie.

I used to be super insecure about being Latin American and not being good at Spanish but since I started watching this channel I've not only gotten better at Spanish but also seen so many videos on this channel of so many people who are Latin American and don't speak Spanish and its made me feel a lot less alone

ADHD inattentive type. I love it, but I just wish I could have the option of turning it on and off. It`s both insanely amusing and frustrating. I think it`s made me a better teacher though because I never ask my students to do anything that I myself can`t do and I put effort above all else. Teachers have told me something was wrong with me before and at times I felt like it too because I would try so hard at something and still perform poorly if it was uninteresting. I can`t hold onto boring topics whatsoever. Since I have a lot of students there is a strong likelihood that one of my students has it too (and I`m pretty sure I know exactly which one), so I don`t want them to feel the way I felt.

ADD forced me to become organized. Because I lose things and forget all the time, I had to create a system to keep track of my life. Also, notebooks are essential; without them I'd rarely (completely) accomplish anything.
