"Putin has got a military that's essentially dismantling itself in an unwinnable war...Russia's command system is under severe strain."
Agreements at the NATO Vilnius summit are 'strategically historically important' despite no set timeline for Ukraine's membership, as the West pledges more weapons and support to Ukraine, Prof. Michael Clarke tells #timesradio.

Just give Ukraine everything they need to win the war and then let Ukraine join NATO all the equipment will be used to protect the border with russia. Also need to prepare for the collapse of russian federation, it will break into smaller pieces and that will actually be good for Europe long term peace and also save lives because dreams of 'empire' will be erased from the slav psyche

Putin is a master strategist, he always intended to unite the whole of Europe and most of the World against him. In addition he wanted to double the border he had with NATO and become NATOs biggest recruiting tool. He also expected the war would last at least a year and a half. He knew very well that he would lose thousands of tanks, hundreds of aircraft and hundreds of thousands of soldiers. This is how good he is, he even knew that he would destroy Ruzzia’s economy and reputation. This is a master at work. 🇬🇧❤🇺🇦

Very god interview, as a Dane (ex-soldier many years back) I’m glad the Sweden & Finland are getting into NATO, there army are very big (especially the Fines) and super professional. That’s an asset as we in DK have a small army, air force & marine. Regarding Ukraine joining, I worked quit a lot in Ukraine until 2009, that was at that time quit some corruption and ‘mafia’ making it hard for western companies to be successful, Ukraine must transform - like the Baltic countries have done, than in the future they can apply. FYI it’s a disgrace Turkey, a country that has jailed so many for being against the ‘emperor’….. can have so much to say in regard to Sweden.

I think getting the arms and cash from Finland and Sweden up front may be a good idea so people do not confuse whose side they are on.. The fact they apply now furthers the question is it a bit like a swiss army knife? useful for picking grit out of a horse hoof but never used in battle as they liked to get others to spend cash and pick a winner once the race has started.

I think the US fears Russian defeat. Putin's downfall and what comes after. Russia is in the same situation as Germany in the first war, a humiliated power. And there are worse people than Putin in there. Russia has put itself in such a humiliating position and they blame the West, they start to blame everything. I think Putin has to find out for himself. I think the US doesn't even know what to do, at the NATO summit I realized that the US doesn't know what to do, if it ends with the war and cedes territories or if it lets the war continue until it sees who can and resists more and wears out first.

With all of the experience in the use of different weapon systems from NATO countries, the Ukraininans will be in good shape to join NATO. in effect they will have the skills and knowledge to integrate seamlessly into the NATO systems. Putin has committed the greatest strategic blunder since Nicholas the Second, sent his Baltic Fleet around the world to fight the Japanese navy. He ended up with Tushima, and, the fall of Port Arthur, and, near collapse of his government. Putin is doing the same, but, only hundreds of kilometers from Moscow, instead of half way around the world.

Which is precisely why he took the actions he did, people seem to think Russia are not allowed to have their own security concerns. Russia CANNOT allow nukes to be put in Ukraine and pointed at Russia, that reduces the flight time to Moscow to minutes and when the West finally catches up to hypersonic technology even less. Apart from anything else it does not give enough response time to pick up the phone and have dialogue in the case of false alarms. It's insane policy and as far as reasons for invading a country go I've seen worse.
