@slick4415 really? Because you train with 1 gun, you get used to this gun so if you use any other gun your performance is worse because your training isn't performed with this other gun. QC talk only gets people fired up that don't shoot a lot. Shooters will always complain about lack of QC. Case in point, LMT. If you don't shoot, you probably think LMT is great. If you shoot, you know LMT's quality control has slipped a ton, and would likely think twice about buying one.

This is not a CZ or Staccato only problem, the 10/22 rifles are distinct in quality, depending on if they were made pre 2020 or 2020 and later. I had to replace everything on mine to make it reasonably reliable on the 2021 mfg dated one, the 2018 10/22 is still rock solid with stock parts. A ratio of something like 1 in 1,000 for guns with defects is acceptable for modern manufacturing. Something like Six Sigma will talk about 4 defects per million but that is for individual parts. When you look at a pistol with 30 to 100 parts, CZ is doing pretty well.

I have nothing but good things to say about my P01. Picked it up a couple years ago, pre Colt I guess, and it has functioned flawlessly. I've maybe 2500 rounds through it with no stovepipes, or anything going wrong. Keep in mind I don't mess around with a lot of different ammo. If I did, I might have a different story. As is, about all that I've used in it is Belom 124, Norma 124 and a handful of CCI. Wish I could say the same about my retired Canik. It suffered from not just occasional ammo issues, but also managed to break the chamber indicator. When that broke, it was down for the count.

My P10F manufactured 2022 had a broken firing pin at 250 live rounds and 1000 dry fires with snap caps. The main housing was canted in the guns frame. Trigger was inconsistent after brake in (before that it was so gritty, you wouldnt have noticed). Actually the trigger feel and break changed the lower the number of rounds in the magazine was. Less than 5 and you could feel each pull would move the slide up and down due to lower magazine spring tension. Not a huge deal for fast shooting, but for accurate shots and muscle memory it sucked. Tried to remedy the problem with a trigger job and some custom parts but was essentially a thing of tolerances stacking up. What made things worse one reason for me buying the cz was I thought since Iam in europe I could get spares easier - cz has a web shop. first thing: they didnt care about the broken firing pin or any other problem, simply didnt answer my requests. And second the replacement parts I ordered by myself were of bad quality. Striker had a very bad burr in the sear engagement sureface, the new trigger bar/sear I ordered had casting marks literally on the sear surface. On that flat part there was a stap of approx half a millimeter on the engagement Trigger felt way worse with these parts with lots of creep after the wall. And you guessed it: customer service didnt care. Sold the thing and replaced it with da VP9 (which is much better made btw, significantly more complicated internally though)

My first S2 has about 30K rounds without problems other than a broken slide release at 20K. My second S2 has about 20K on it and I just broke a slide release. They both start to hang up on feeding at about 1500-2000 rounds without a hose down. They both like to be slightly wet. Other than that no stovepipes or ejection problems. The only difference you’d notice is about a pound heavier trigger pull on DA with the SPO1 and about the same on SA vs the Shadow 2 the reset on SA will also be a little longer on SPO1 due to the firing pin block safety but it’s only about 2 mm difference. If both guns go to Cajun they’ll both be top notch performers and reliable. But if you’re comparing a stock S2 to a Cajun SP01 the Cajun gun will beat it every day

For bullets nosediving a common cause can be the slide outrunning the magazine spring. Try re-springing the mags with some wolff extra power springs, might fix the issue. Speaking of CZ quality control, this has happened with factory CZ mags too. Not so much on the big guns but I also have a little 2075 RAMI which has a bit more narrow window of operation. Factory full size magazines fit and kinda work in the gun but towards the end of the mag you will start getting nosedives if they have factory springs. The shorter 10 and 14rd mags that come with the gun are fine and anything I have re-sprung with Grams springs or something works fine.

Recently talked to a Beretta rep and told him I had been looking at the LTT 92s. We both agreed they are pricey, but nice. He mentioned Beretta has a new frame mounted decocker only model and explained how it works. I said that sounds more complicated and asked why it is better than the slide G model decocker. He really never gave a good reason why it might be better, but I came away thinking companies are more worried about marketing new and improved models than making sure the current products work well.

It's better cause the market asked for it for years. The ones that didn't buy one that could decock or put on safe while racking the slide might buy some now. Th ones that already have a 92 might get one of those too. They created some waves pushing the competition models and the others now have to surf on that. How well the split decocker works we'll see. I don't think they'd risk their reputation of the main model without extensive testing.

Those are the twin-sear models. Aside from ergonomics, moving the decocker to the frame allowed them to eliminate the transfer bar/rod for the firing pin. This reduces friction by quite a bit; those new designs can take a mainspring that is 2lbs lighter while getting the same ignition reliability.

QC in the gun industry right now is garbage. I'd wager close to half of the guns I've purchased in the last year have had something wrong with them out of the box. At this point, if I buy a new handgun, I have to assume something big, or small will be wrong with it. What's frustrating is sometimes the problem won't make itself known until you're 1,000 rounds in on the gun. It's honestly cheaper sometimes just to get a new gun than to waste money on parts and ammo chasing down a gremlin in the gun.
