The pre-sales have been amazing and we have already sold 1700 of these printers at discounted prices. So what are you getting for your money? I intend to show you as much as possible in this video, I imagine all the things I would want to see in my new printer and I let the camera take you on a tour of the back, the CFS box, and inside the printer chamber to see the nozzle, the lights, the fans, and even a few door slams.
So if you want to see more videos like this, please tell me what you want to see in the comments.
If you could like this video that would really help me too.
And I also have some other videos that need to be watched. I'm trying to increase my view hours so if you could go to another video and watch it as well, that would really help me out.

Would like to see some prints and their quality from this machine. Especially printing fast. And also if the VFA problem could really be resolved using closed loop steppers. What we have seen plenty so far are rather flat multi color prints. Thanks for the video, hope to see more of these in the future 👍🏻

Ive had ender 3's running along side of it and have never had an issue with any of them. Lots of tempting printers to hit the scene over the last couple of years, but Im glad i waited for the K2. Is it possible to change the spool in cms during printing and set a different color? E.g. I have 5 different colored layers, after printing the first one, I change the spool of color 1 to color 5 and the CMS/printer knows that this color is there?
@kevin.3D
@kevin.3D 20 күн бұрын
i will ask him this one too - you have good questions! For your other question about filament going into those CFS holes on the back - that won't work. The filament box loads and unloads each color so if you put just a roll into the back to try to get 5 colors (love the independent thinking) it would get pushed out when ejected and have no way to get fed back in. There is a single spool holder available for it if you don't want to use the CFS - or you can buy 2 CFS and have 8 rolls. Doesn't have to be 8 colors, can do two or three spots of the same color that is commonly used so that when it runs out it will automatically use the new roll of filament in the same color.
@piaskownica7648
@piaskownica7648 20 күн бұрын
@@kevin.3D The previous question was about single colour, not multi-colour printing from an external spool. CFS does not support TPU, I mount the TPU spool on an external holder and what next? How do I connect this to the printer, I have seen that Bambu Lab users print splitters to not have to unplug the AMS from the printer every time they want to use the external spool. Hopefully this will be solved better here

they said with the K1 series, there are 3 lead screws but they are all on the same motor. This has 2 and they are on 2 independent motors so it should be better. And there are four linear rods on the z axis too...

I'm hoping the mod community figures a pretty quick way to put an actual vent on the printer. Have my K2 pre ordered, but I print with ABS and ASA a lot. I have a dedicated in-line exhaust fan designed for a grow tent and dryer vent hose to a mount that snaps on the back of my K1 Max, to exhaust all the fumes from the printer out a vent I installed in my basement. I just had to remove the joke of a fan/filter that came with the K1 Max. I absolutely suck at trying to model things myself but I think if it came down to it I know a friend who would probably help if I could get him the exact size of the fan openings, distance between them, ect. A little filter and some charcoal only mask the smell a little, the VOCs that are actually bad for your health are still present unless you actually vent out of the space. I can imagine since the back is metal, it'd be easy to make some kind of a Y shaped adapter that maybe uses a combination of magnets and something like window seal strip or something. Then have that Y piece end as a typical 4" exhaust hose size.
@kevin.3D
@kevin.3D 19 күн бұрын
i think that sounds like a good idea - using magnets on the back would prevent you from cutting any holes in it. Put an exhaust fan on the back and run your hose out the window - sounds like a really good idea. I have not tried printing with ASA - what do you use that for, what are the benefits of ASA over ABS?
@20Viper05
@20Viper05 18 күн бұрын
I definitely wouldn't want to be drilling into the K2, or anything that'd be a permanent modification. The adapter for the K1 Max just clicks into place on the back, so it's not a permanent modification either, and I kept all the fan pieces so I can return it to stock if I decide to sell it after receiving the K2. But as to the filaments ASA was originally designed as a replacement for ABS. ASA has the benefits of ABS but with UV resistance. As someone who has printed with both, ASA is easier to print with. It's nowhere near as prone to warping as ABS. ASA is suppoosed to be produce less VOCs while printing, I definitely got headaches printing with ASA before I made the vent-to-outside system though, so I'd still recommend venting. IMO nothing that involves burning/melting plastic should be breathed in. ASA isn't available in as many colors as ABS though, so that's a drawback. ASA is typically a bit more expensive than its ABS counterpart. Like ABS, ASA can be post-processed the same ways including acetone smoothing. But generally if it's something I'm making that will be outside in the sun, or something inside the printer enclosure where it's going to get hot, I typically go with ASA.

A few questions, WHY is the 4 way hub on the back of the CFS?? It really needs to be on the printer itself because it actually feeds into the printer and each CFS will then feed into the hub, this doesn't make any sense at all!! Then you can put each CFS where you want?? Also, I REALLY hope they put a 5V USB socket somewhere inside up around where the lights are so we can add a longer strip/rope light all the way around the interior perimeter? Or when someone comes up with a file for a CFS Riser to rise up and stack the CFS on top and still be able to open the glass top, then you can add a full length strip light around the Riser ! Most people won't understand what I am talking about unless the have a Bambu P or X series multi-color printer! Yes, I am ashamed to say I do have a P1S combo, only because I WON it for $250 on a FB Waffle and it's a $1000. set-up??? My Heart and roots are still ALL Creality and my 1st printer is a Ender 5 Plus which I still have and it's a BEAST, and I LOVE it and had ZERO warranty or any other issues with it and it is about 5 yrs old! .... But it's slow, so, now it's getting converted to a corexy and will run a sonic pad using Klipper! Should be VERY close to a K1 series when I am done!! I am planning on a K1 Max here real soon to take over while the 5 plus is down, then this fall I will get the K2 Plus and take my Bambu out behind the Barn and SHOOT the darn thing!!! 🤣

1. That poor print quality right there has to be a MAJOR alarm sign! I don't buy the excuses this is just an early prototype, and therefore OK at this stage. That's a weak excuse this far into pre-production. This is an experienced company, showing off their flagship model, and trying to finally convince the many sceptics they have what it takes to knock BambuLabs out the quality-of-print park with their own game. 2. The other thing that really irks me about Creality is the inability to address the MANY criticisms of the poor placement of the Poop-Chute, Filament Entry Points, and Mains Power Switch at the BACK of this large and heavy unit, when it is immediately obvious to any USER-CENTRIC designer, that ALL THREE of these facilities SHOULD be placed on the FRONT of the machine. Having a bank of these machines on a bench against a wall is an obvious customer placement. An Engineer / Designer that persists in thinking its OK to stuff important operating access at the BACK of a heavy, awkward to move machine in a row of similar machines against the wall ... needs his pay stopped until he fixes this mistake! (And I would still continue to be worried where else such a designer is taking short-cuts at the expense of the end-user). This is a sales-feature mistake that needs the intervention-balls of a Steve Jobs / Elon Musk type CEO character to throw his toys out the cot, and pull the plug on the design team, and DEMAND they fix it. Pronto! Middle-management AIN'T gonna take that decision. It's the ethos of the man at the top that separates out a great design company, from the merely good.

Looking at the specs it should definitely do better than one of the cheapest klipper bedslinger, or else I don't see the point of coreXY, closed loop motors and anything that makes this printer expensive besides the sheer size and the mms. I can kind of see some Z banding on the print shown on the start. A little disappointed. I guess we just can’t get rid of inconsistent layer stacking with a lead screw setup.

we had one printing beside us in the live stream one day - maybe that was the 50% sale of pre-orders. Search the official Creality channel and look at the livestream. I was sitting right beside it while it printed and pooped. It's nice and quiet. I'm not allowed to just plug this in and start printing - we had it in the studio for some shots on the official store website.

I'm excited about the K2+ and if it will live up to the claims. I was expecting much more from this video. But its on a cart, not plugged in, no showing of what it can print, no showing the display and it has the world's smallest poop container - basically useless. Spent almost 10 minutes going over less than what the website has in regards to details. Seriously? Why in the world didn't you plug this in and show it off properly? There are only two options, you didn't think of it or Creality wouldn't allow you to. So which is it?
@kevin.3D
@kevin.3D 14 күн бұрын
yeah, this is Creality behind the scenes. Printers are going to be on carts and I'm gonna film them while everyone else eats lunch. I had 11 minutes alone with the printer but I guess you are right, I should have wrestled it onto a table, set up some spotlights, plugged it in and started a print. I'll work on that for my next video. The poop chute container was to demonstrate how magnets will work on the back, something we have not shown before - you are under no obligation to print this tiny container for your printer.
@theVariedLife
@theVariedLife 13 күн бұрын
I totally get being in a busy work space, so the cart thing isn't a big deal. No need for spotlights though (your being a little over dramatic there yea? but then again I was in my response so touche). Personally I would at least plug it in and power it up for people to see, a big missed opportunity there and to go over so much information, which didn't happen. It seemed like your first day doing a review on youtube (not prepared, just winging it). I would have taken about 30 seconds to think about what should have been presented and it would have made a world of difference. Onto my concerns... First, yes poop container is optional, but at least admit its the smallest poop container on the market. If you have done or seen any multi-material printing you know that container will fill up in mere minutes and then spill over = not good. Please suggest a poop shoot like other printers have; maybe even one which has the shoot which would empty out and down the back under a desk or counter into a trash can. Even one that has a larger container on the side (like some other big name printer company has done). Just a thought. Second, my concern was the lack of information in the video. I look at it from a perspective if someone who is looking at 3d printers, this video should have included a ton of information to persuade them; 'the K2+ brings lot to the table because it does X, y and Z... lets go over them..." But that didn't happen. I mean I can rattle off a lot of details of the K2+ off the top of my head but the viewers here got next to nothing. I don't know if you work at Creality or was just given limited access but missed a great opportunity to really persuade people that this is going to be a great machine. Third, no showing off of prints. I didn't expect to have the machine actually printing, well... yea I did a little, but at least show some items it printed and show off the capabilities. Another lost opportunity. Fourth, the lack of information on the nozzle, extruder, safety features (2 fuses for heated bed, etc) should have been mentioned (safety is important). Never addressed if the nozzle can be changed quickly or what size it was, or if Creality is going to offer different sizes, no mention of flow rate, etc. Does it have a carbon filter? Then what about print times? Will the machine have RFID for spool? Can the CFS use third party spools? Does this machine have WIFI, ethernet or a USB port (where is the USB port located?) to transfer items to the machine to print? I know it does but most newbies don't know that so its another opportunity to sell this machine. So much info was not brought to the table, I mean to the cart, with this video. What I did come away with was you said the CFS weighed less than 4 kg (impossible), you liked the door and wanted more logos on the machine, as if those were THE big selling points but thats not what is going to sell this printer to people. Please understand I'm not being mean and I don't know you from Adam; you could have just had an off day and I get that. However if I was new and this one video was all that I saw, I would be hesitant to check into it further because of the lack of important details in this video. Lesson learned I hope. Also if this is still in development as you said, please suggest that the exhaust fans have screws holes for ventilation port attachments like on other machines, especially when printing indoors (homes, offices, etc) to vacate harmful VOCs. As it stands people will have to drill holes into the machine to attach exhausts adapters to vent this thing and that shouldn't be something people should have to do, especially with such a machine. Oh yea, and make a much bigger poop shoot/container. Please know I'm not a fanboi of any company and I'm in the market for a large build area printer and thats why I made videos discussing the K2+ as an option for me. I have researched, checked out the Creality website, forums, etc to get up to speed on this machine (btw I have a background in electronics so I know what to look for) but not everyone has that experience, so you have to sell this ever chance you get, but that didn't happen here. Anyway, I would love to see another video where you actually go over the specs and things I mentioned in detail, with the machine plugged in, show the lights, display, menu options, etc. etc. Leave it on the cart but plug it in and really discuss the important selling points and hit a home run with it.

@@theVariedLife wow thanks for the comments. Yes i work at Creality and to be honest we have been doing livestreams about the K2Plus a lot - so there are plenty of videos with all of this information in them (including videos with the printer running). you don't have to watch. Creality has been making printers for ten years so i don't think it's very fair to claim they are copying a company celebrating their second anniversary. They are different companies competing with each other - this is not new, it's good for you, the consumer. I love Toyota cars but I don't go to Ford websites and accuse them of copying Toyota. Ford makes cars and that makes Toyota better and cheaper for us.
