When I was going through school, I thought, If only I got this particular degree I would be that much smarter. After accomplishing a Bachelor's in engineering, a master's degree, and a Ph.D in Strategic Management, and became a Professor, I can tell you that I'm not much smarter than when I started.
When I was growing up, my aunt would always say that those particular people put on one pant leg like everybody else. I really did not understand what that meant, until now. Experts are just like everyone else.
We are all dealing with the same struggles as human beings.
We all make mistakes.
I still sing, dance, and make silly noises when nobody is watching.
There are few differences between us.
What changes when you obtain more information as an expert?
1. You have wrote and read a bit more in a specific area than other people. Note that it does not have to be much more than others.
2. Your recall and transactive memory is a bit more sharper about specific ideas.
3. You can combine ideas a bit quicker because you had the opportunity to read about that idea.
4. Your expertise does not stay with you. You quickly forget what you wrote and thought about in the past month.
5. People perceive you a bit differently.
6. You get access to resources because people trust you a bit more.

David Maslach is a research professor of entrepreneurship, innovation, and business strategy, I discuss topics, such as behavioral science, strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and apply these to my new peer proofreading and editing platform. Topics include the sharing economy, altruism, investing in technology, starting a business, and bounded rationality. My favorite videos pertain to incentives, goal setting, and learning from failure to drive behaviors such as weight loss, stopping telemarketers, creating novel technologies, and creating new movements.
r3ciprocity.com: Peer proofreading and editing platform
A new platform where you can earn credits by editing other people's documents. Use these credits to have your own work edited. If you do a good enough job, you can convert these credits to money.
The goal of the platform is to get people to 'pay it forward' and help other people out by creating incentives for people to give back.
