I so enjoy these sit down talk sessions with Cy. He has a lifetime worth of wisdom and am I glad he has a forum like this to share that wisdom with us. I was lucky enough to have some mentors similar to Cy in my formative years which has helped guide me through life. I just wish our younger generations could have the exposure to men like CY, the world would be a much better place if we did!!!

Paul ur are one of these people. Even if u have that feeling Inside of u, tell u that u just don't know how to mentor the young ones I'm sure it's like anything. Try try and try sooner or later u will succeed. 1st rule I had to learn, is don't take it personal when it seems they aren't taking it serious. The right young person with tht fire and desire to learn will Come along. I haven't a real clue if I ever have taught anyone anything. But every time I am tuckpointing or laying block or even a small patio. There is a youngster around and old enough to learn or do the work I try my best to capture their interest. Myself I wish I knew how to tuckpoint at a young age. Sure would made life way different.

Government is a collection of people chosen by voters. Voters elected people who allowed themselves to be captured by industry and made decisions for the benefit of industry. The solution here is to vote in more honorable people, people who have enough integrity to resist the special interests and money under the table.

From my own experience I can confirm that on low carb eating habits, the "hunger" goes away. I totally understand what Cy is saying ... that on low carb, there is no longer that really (uncontrollable) hunger anymore. I still enjoy eating (one of my favorite things to do) .. I just cut down on obvious carb like bread or rice. I actually like eating (mostly raw) vegetables now.

This video couldn’t have been posted at a more profound time for me. I’ve been dieting for a little over a month. Low fat, low carb, high protein. A lot of meat… beef (which I raised last year), turkey, chicken, fish (walleye and crappie from the freezer), etc. What few carbohydrates I’ve been eating come from a small amount of white rice every day. I’ve lost 20 pounds thus far, and let me assure what he’s saying about “not being hungry” is VERY true. It didn’t take long before I found myself forgetting to eat, whereas before it was like I had food on my mind all day every day. Stepping away from enriched white flour and all these other processed grains and eating cleaner stuff… man it’s like it resets your hunger meter. The bar of being hungry gets raised way way up. Great content guys, thanks!

Love the sit downs with Cy. He represents all the things that forged this country, with a sly wit as well.... "so I figured the cow didn't need to be in the barn anymore" LOL.... one dislocated shoulder, a trampling and a dragging later. His understatedness used to be more common, and represented the "listen" part of listening to elders. They knew what they said was only applicable to the willing, That the deaf ears (minds really) would have to learn it another time or way. I've known several Cy's, all lost to time, and it amazes me to think how much of them and their decades old lessons remain with me all these years later. The "information age" of internet and webpages is great for facts, lies, and some academics, but is very short when it comes to living. A barn full of Cy's is a wealth of knowledge, a skyscraper full of computers can't compete with a guy who can pick up the tool and show you. Cy could have a weekly spot on this channel and I couldn't get enough... and I'd bet he could never get it all out - He'll still take some untold stories with him someday. Always a pleasure thanks for sharing.

Very interesting content. I changed my diet to a keto diet about a year ago and everything this man says is true. I used to eat none stop, constant headaches and my body ached. No more headaches, I only eat twice a day and my joints feel much better. I always worked out and tried to stay fit but my mid section was alway soft. I lost about 28 pounds and four inches off my waste. I finally have the lean much more chiseled body I had always been chasing. My wife was skeptical at first but she too is getting off the carbs. Life changing. Grass fed cost more but I my body is worth it. Same with eggs, butter and only wild caught salmon. Great video thanks so much, it explained a lot of things I did not know.

My first time buying feeder calves, i built a 5 strand electric barbed wire fence.... i bought 4 calves at auction near the middle of March. when i let them out of the trailer, they ran right through the fence at full speed. I tried for weeks to get them back in, but they spent the summer roaming with a neighbors herd. They came in the week before labor day and i sold them the next day. They put on an average of 80lbs and i made a good profit not including the fence materials. Beef prices had gone way up during the summer due to low grain yields the previous fall.

What a great yarn Nate, well done, I could listen to Cy talk for ages and Learn so much from his life's experiences I think that it extremely important that we try to get all these experienced old timer's (no disrespect intended) in some form of recorded history before it is too late We owe it to society to preserve the old ways of life It is just like the collection of the original food seeds in the Seed Ark in Norway The way man has a habit of either improving or destroying the genetics of food it is so important to have the original Item you can go back to to start again. It is very important that we have that knowledge that For example Cy has gained over a lifetime, to remember how to do things when inevitably man "stuffs" up yet again we will have the knowledge to fall back on, ALL DIFFERENT types of the old skills are being lost worldwide every day. Cy mentioned his eating habits, I have only eaten 1 meal a day (evening meal, that is usually as healthy as I can make it, sure I have my junk food day's but mainly it is healthy tucker ) For over 40 years unless I wake up staving in the morning or I am staying at someones place and I am forced to eat at their times I am also a type 2 diabetic (approx 3 years) and am on a truck load of medication for many health issues, So far my diet and diabetes seem to be coping with each other well! Anyway, I appreciate the effort you put in to the videos Nate and a huge thank you to Cy for his wisdom. Tony from Western Australia 🇦🇺

If you're diabetic carbs are the enemy of your health and exercise and skipping a meal or two is the right answer. Looking into our ancestry gives you the answers. Our ancestors worked and worked hard for their food and sometimes it all fell apart abs they had to do without. God was not foolish in creating our bodies. We can generally do without long enough to be successful at finding something to eat again AND He created in our bodies it's own ability to create what it needs to sustain both life and health in the interim. Cy speaks the truth... 6 months ago I cut fast food, carbs and grains, increased vegetables just to be healthier. Ended up losing belly fat even though I was still eating way too much sugar. So I cut the sugar comsumption too because the craving were less and I knew it was healthier. Lost a little more weight and am seldom hungry. I'm far from a keto purist, just using some of the basic ideas from a keto/low carb diet... Good luck to all!

at 8:54 I can relate to not snacking when you only eat healthy home cooked meals with meat as a staple in every meal! He speaks the truth! Intermittent fasting as well. I work 12 hour days 6 days a week and I don't get as tired as I used to as well. 6-7 hours of sleep is all I need. Hope other people can cut out all the extra sugar and flour/carbs and tries this for themselves. Good Luck to all.

I'm a firm believer in eating the way that works best for your body. (My own mum can't do most meats, but is fine with bread, rice, potatoes, oatmeal, etc., whereas I have to avoid going over 30 grams of carbohydrates a day. Keto seems to be a fad right now, but I hope people who need it take it seriously as a lifestyle choice. For the past 5 years now, I've had to adhere to the dietary guidelines due to psoriatic arthritis. (Going over a certain amount of carbohydrates causes inflammation to get worse in my case.) The weight loss was an added bonus, and the not feeling hungry all of the time is a right blessing. Now I focus on getting good quality meats and fats and cramming as much nutrition and fiber into the carbs that I do eat. P.S. Does it ever irritate anyone else when people say "I'm going on a diet?" No, you're altering your diet to become healthy. If a change is not permanent, the results won't be either.(mini rant over.)

What our society forgets is that Men like him are a national treasure and we as an Americans should document everything we can while we have them still with us, because their knowledge and experience from days and years of the past is priceless. Our new generation is way toooooo soft and fragile, without their cell phones or computers they are helpless and have no clue about manual work or the ability or knowledge to fix something on their own.
