For those who don't speak Dutch: "Tooth Wheel" = Gear. :-) If you're not replacing the head, it's a good idea to protect it against electrostatic discharge by putting a paper clip on the flex cable to short out all the contacts, whenever it's disconnected from the read/write board.

Thanks for the feedback. I was mentioning the Toothed Wheel: a wheel with teeth for making a row of perforations (google it). Nothing Dutch about that?

Very nice video, just wish the manufactures would spend a little more on building the these mechanisms without all the plastic parts. They really didn’t want these units to last very long in use.

Hey, Dr. I just bought a Technics Dc-10 by accident because I thought it was a CD player. I know nothing about this cassette format until I see it in person. I don't have it hook up with the speaker yet but when I insert the regular cassette tape. ( I don't have DCC tape yet) It plays but I just see 1 channel VU meter running but that tape is stereo on my regular cassette. Please help or give me the advice to fix this problem. Thank you.

@DRDCC5 жыл бұрын
For now, the toothed wheel is only available if we do the restoration. We will update you if this changes.

it's not called a tooth wheel it's called a motor pinion. Consider what a wheel looks like, it isn't a wheel.

Hi dear DR DCC i have a quetion about if a normal - analog cassette tape deck can record a dcc tape ? Note : What do i mean ? .............i mean the if we put out the dcc tape from it's dcc cassette shell and put it in a chrome type 2 analog cassette shell and i say chrome because i remember when i asked you what type of tapes DCCs use you replied back and told me BASF chrome video tapes of course not that wide tapes .. so if we put the dcc tape in a type 2 analog cassette shell will a cassette deck be able to record on it and also for the opposite will a dcc deck be able to record on an analog tape { in a dcc shell } chrome type 2 or not ?? Thx for any reply many regards :-)

Hello everybody, the video for the repair of the technics rs-dc8 is great, but unfortunately no spare part delivery to europe only repair in the usa possible. I do not understand, I can not send my device to the United States, for the money, I can also buy a 3d printer and manufacture the gear itself hallo zusammen, das video zur reparatur des technics rs-dc8 ist toll, nur leider keine ersatzteil lieferung nach europa nur reparatur in den usa möglich. das verstehe ich nicht, ich kann doch mein gerät nicht in die usa schicken, für das geld kann ich mir auch einen 3d drucker kaufen und das zahnrad selber herstellen
