In the v2 the dampened switch allows you to hear the rattle from the individual stabilizers on each key in my opinion.

Going to say, I like the sound of my V1 more. Can hear the stabilizer pings quite a bit more on the v2...

Are you sure the wrist rest and keyboard aren't magnetic? It says on the Amazon page its a magnetic wrist rest. If its not I'm ordering one of these right away.

I think it's magnetic for the full size version and not the tkl. Not 100% sure

Just so everyone knows, sound is measured on a logarithmic scale with decibels. That means that an increase of ~10 db doubles the volume. A cut of 20 db is MASSIVE. It's cutting the volume of your keys in half, then half again.

@@yodaaki3652 it depends which measurement standard you're using from what I've read. I seem to remember it also has to do with how the sound is being amplified, but this is natural sound, so not sure which to use. However, I'm not an expert. Just a humble musician.

Even though I'm not interested in this, I'm happy they put the V2 switches on the TKL version. 60% is too small in my opinion as I prefer to have dedicated arrow and function keys.

honestly have used the huntsman te stock and modded it doesn’t sound that clacky stock (sure it sounds quite harsh stock) but then again adding silicone to the keyboard is basically just adding rubber to the keyboard. i recommend that razer makes their box switches able to open without actually damaging the keyboard so that at least people can lube the switch. another suggestion is that razer pre lube or factory lube their switches well. furthermore, razer could fill the pegs where the costars bottom out so that it doesn’t sound so hollow and they wouldn’t need to add rubber to the pegs

I copped the original on Woot for $60 refurbished. Just got it today. Compared to my k70 rgb from corsair, this one is def a lot louder. But I do like the simplicity and size of this :) Really happy with my purchase.

Sold! Just these past few days I've been agonizing over wanting the sound and feel of the Razer Huntsman Mini, but preferring the TKL layout which (until I watched this video,) only seemed to have the louder, not-quite-as-satisfying-finger-tip-feel (to me) as the Mini. Brilliant news!

I would suggest you do a modding video for these too. Lube switches, mod stabs put some pbt keycaps if they don't already have.

I just unboxed mine today and it sounds great! No rattles! I was nervous since I had ordered it with confidence and then afterwards saw the comments and heard the key test in this vid. But it got here today and I love it, it doesn’t sound rattle-y at all! The key presses are SO fast compared to my Green Clicky mechanicals

Respond to timestamp 5:38. EXACTLY when I heard the enter key that you did (or backspace key or shift key) it sounded so rubbery and mushy, I actually am still going to pick up the old one.

i love the huntsman mini i got the linear version and man the switches feel so damn good but the rattle is really bad if only they didnt use stabs on every single switch the only option is to lube every single one

I don’t think a keyboard can be to dampened. A silent keyboard would be great imo. All they really need to do is fix their stabilizers with less rattle and more smooth stability. I also think mouse clicks can be loud and I would also appreciate quieter mouse clicks.

So, I have the v1 huntsman te. I really enjoy the sound it has, but the only issue is it’s hypersensitive actuation. If the v2 has a better actuation depth, would taking the foam and silicone bits out, would that bring that sound back?

lol, I was just about to make one of those "is it just me..." comments about the sound of the V2 spacebar stabilizers and just a couple of top comments was enough to answer my question 😅 yeah, the V2 is miles better with that foam, but seriously, wtf, how to unhear the resonation of those stabs?!

The gen 2 linear switches sounds a bit watery to my ears, it’s really hard to explain and it makes 0 sense but they remind me of when I modded kailh blues with hand sanitizer.

Hi! I have a Huntsman v2 TKL and with a lot of research I saw that they have a chronic coil whine problem when the LEDs are static at 100% brightness, you can only hear this noise when I put my ear very close to the keyboard. Could you confirm if this happens to yours, please?

I'm glad that razer is trying to improve but I'm still disappointed with the amount of rattle the stabilisers have on this keyboard. Really hope this will improve in the future but so far the stabiliser rattle is a big downside.

V1's spacebar is pretty decent compared to v2, which you can clearly hear the rattle.

i can see how the sound dampening would make it seem like it will sound btr but tbh u can hear the rattle even more, i mean they mightve as well just made a new silent switch lol. not to bash on razer on anything its a good board and theyre brand is made to game and not for sound profiles or enthusiasts

Have the huntsman tkl v2! when I tried opening it up something near the esc key was preventing it from opening up. I ensured all the screws are off (all 14) I noticed when you opened up the keyboard yours easily came off, I noticed near the esc key there looks to be a silver screw underneath?

Managed to get a steal of a deal ($90 !) on a v2 clicky tkl and couldn't be happier. The quality of the sound it makes is so much better than my old black window TE and I absolutely love how light the keys are. Also the fact it is devoid of gamery stylizing makes me feel like do much less of a degenerate

Hey Frank do you know anything about this board lighting up when the PC is off or sleeping, it pops on randomly and wakes the PC, I’ve tried other boards I have on the same port and none of them do it. Synapse settings are correct as far as I can see, any suggestions?

I just bought the one with the red switches and it didn't come with the wrist rest... and wasn't supposed to according to the box. Luckily I already have one that I can use with it from my previous keyboard, but still, when I heard you say it includes a wrist rest I got scared that mine was missing.

Wonder what causes these to be so tactile! I had the Blackwidow v3 mini hyperspeed and they where no way near as quite as these and these also had these dampeners.

looks like a mistake was made when you took it apart. there is a hidden screw under that corner where you broke off the silver part. Its a hidden warranty screw pretty much so they can tell you opened it
