You've witnessed one of Su's famous death stare. You don't wanna be caught in that stare. Off character, Su is the sweetest, most humble person, very goofy aswell. But on stage, she transcends. She becomes whatever she wants to become. That stare.

Su-metal always delivers with all her heart. Many fans call it the 'Su-metal death stare' :-) Edit: about sweating, they train whole shows and think about it: you need to be fit enough to have breath control to sing. They have short moments, 2 or 3 minutes, in their shows to take a breather between songs. For example the Kami band solo is one of them.

Also, the headliner live shows where most of the videos come from are usually on january or at the end of the year. Even like this I have seen the girls sweating from time to time, look at headbanger at legend 1997 that was recorded at the end of the show and Su's sweating. Not much, but sweating for sure. Actually I was curious and I just went to watch last years live shows that were on summer (beyond the moon and the sun also rises) and Su is pretty sweat near 2/3 of the show but at the end she is dry again. So they probably dried her hair on the encore.

⚡ / 🔴 🌙 Su did three solo songs that night. Just before this song, she performed 'No Rain, No Rainbow', a rare one. Later on in the show she did 'Rondo of Nightmare'. Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) performed both 'Onedari Daisakusen' and '4 no Uta' without Su. And they did ten songs together. Guitarists that night were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura. As usual BOH was on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. That solo (and 'Rondo of Nightmare' from the same concert) are what sold me on BABYMETAL. Before that I liked them, and thought the whole idea was a lot of fun, but seeing Su in full Metal Queen mode turned me into a diehard fan.

understandable. A good band is much but if you don't like the singer's voice...Suzuka can be very "convincing" and I think it was her that got me too, although i like the rest too, even get goosebumps when Black Babymetal appears on stage (Lost for life in the deep hole). I put Su in one league with singers like Sia or even Freddy M. Her voice is absolutely fabulous.

It's great to know that one song which just changed you from a interested listener to a die-hard fan. For me, if i remember correctly, it was 'No Rain No Rainbow' from Legend X - unfortunately, I joined the party late, but it was not my first song. At that point in time, was not aware the significance of the show, but still felt the emotion.

8:38 - Su looks into your soul...and is pleased at what she sees. "Is the stage revolving?" No, it's an optical illusion as in fact the whole Universe revolves around Queen Su. Fantastic reaction - not a pause, just watching and listening in awe of Su's superb vocals and the amazing guitar duet and nuclear powered drummer. Love this song. OK, true story: Had notification that you had posted this...thought to myself 'cool, they've posted an extra reaction this week...then realised it was Monday (worse, as it was 01:30 here in the UK, on Tuesday)...I blame this lockdown. Ak and At are not sound of syllable existing in japanese. It would be A KA TSU KI, even if you gloss over the U, you still have to say the TS.

Oh yeah dudes ! One of my top3 Babymetal songs. Nice to see it covered. Like others already said, it's a solo performance so that the other two can rest a bit. Now, they also have songs with the other two (Yui and Moa) and Su is resting. Need to check them too 😉 I recommend Onedari Daisakusen or Song 4 (which is the only song they are credited for the lyrics, cmiiw). Also, still waiting to see your Road of Resistance reaction, I know it was blocked but you can make a small video here explaining the block and link to another platform in the description so that we can actually watch it, please 🙏😂

Never let babymetal mondays end! The live videos are almost ALWAYS the best, and you will see they can get pretty darn sweaty by the end with all the running around especially on those bigger stages like Budokan or Tokyo Dome

She does break a little sweat there between the flames and the cape I noticed her face got red and eventually started a sweat. That cape must hold in too much heat.

I'm not surprised she was sweating. The heat those flame machines throw out is astonishing. I saw the band live at the Apollo in London last February and I could feel the blast of radiant heat from the flame machines half way up the back of the gallery. Being surrounded by them a few feet away must be like being in an oven.

Oh, and yeah you saw her break sweat on this one. It's about halfway through a thirty minute set, and thr girls go hard physically from start to finish. Once you fellas have reacted to enough of their catalog to start casually diving into their material look up the Live at Tokyo Dome. It's a two part release, two nights, two different set lists and both performances will not fail to leave you both thoroughly pleased. And, you won't have to look far for them, as both can be purchased right here on KZfaq. Won't even cost you $30.

Another awesome reaction. I just went through the songs you've done for BABYMETAL and there is a super important one you haven't hit yet (unless I missed it). It is "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" live at Sonisphere 2014. It was their first music festival outside of Asia and what put them on the world's music radar! Side note: could you guys make a playlist of these to make it a bit easier to see what has been covered? Thanks! Also, that wasn't sweat. It was the metal goddess glowing!

While this song doesn’t take the very top place in my personal ranking (not far from it, though), for some reason I consider it a very perfect song. It just does everything you could ask for, and does it well. It has the slow section that can move you to tears (still does it to me), and the rest is incredibly fast and energetic. It has great vocals, beautiful, melodic and well played duelling guitars, relentless drum work, and an interesting composition. The stage is cool and Su rules it as usual. The only thing one could possibly miss is the other girls. If you enjoy ballads as well, you should check out the „unfinished version“ of this song. Su was a bit younger at the one time it was performed, but she does a wonderful job performing that emotional rendition of the song. You really need to react to their Rondo of Nightmare performance. They really gave each of the the band members a moment to shine. Each of the main guitarists gets their own solo, including the bassist...and the drummer gets their own solo as well...all before she even comes out singing. **edit**. Oh shit, you already did. Oh yes in some live videos you can see they are literally dripping with sweat. And yeah you are absolutely right this is straight up metal, people who claim otherwise just don't know the definition. Of course this is mixed with pop (sometimes a lot), coming from the vocals, the dancing, additional effects and instruments, but there is nothing remotely pop in the heavy riffs, raging solos and blast beats delivered by the Kami Band.

Now you have reacted to this version you should now react to the same song but the unfinished version from 2013. You really want see Su and her singing. This version has made a lot of grown men including myself tear up. She brings so much emotion that yes we dont understand Japanese but you feel her in the unfinished version of Akatsuki. Or another one to show emotion is No Rain No Rainbow from Legend S. This song has only been performed 5 times. Legend S version is so good. Keep it up with Babymetal Babymetal Monday.

You should do a black babymetal song, which is the other two girls, Moa and Yui, singing themselves without Su. Maybe the songs "Song 4" or "Onedari daisakusen". For another day, maybe check out Ningen Isu - "Heartless scat", its another japanese band and you wont be disappointed! Love your vids bros! Keep them coming!

Next time pick BABYMETAL - Tamashii No Rufuran. It's very rare (because it's a cover song played by BABYMETAL only once in a history), but it's so beautiful and powerful (as usual). You'll never regret.

You said the title of the song almost perfectly; only you don't pronounce the "u". It's Akat'ski. "U"s after an "s" are often not pronounced, which is why incidentially it is Su-metal. The dash indicates that you pronounce the vowel. This is a tricky part of the language. Su kills this song. Also No Rain No Rainbow. The confidence that lady has on stage is beautiful to watch. That look after she finished that last note, that attitude of hers. intensity. Just a fantastic performance.

Actually, the dash means you double or draw out the vowel. So Su- is the same as Suu. The dash is used so that there is no mistaking a syllable break between the vowels. Just say is slightly longer or drawn out. That is why the dash in Su-metal but not Yuimetal or Moametal. For another example, iine is not written as I-ne because the original pronunciation is i i ne (3 syllables) but the younger generations pronounce it as 2 syllables with the drawn out i.

Except here it's because her name is split (Su-zuka), unlike Moa(metal) and Yui(metal). - and ー (long vowel mark) are different characters.

@@Kane_SIF, we can keep this going. 😊 A common shortening of a name to make a nickname is to use the first 2 syllables. But if the vowels are the same then also drop the consonant in between and say the elongated vowel. So it is Su-- but I don't know where the heck the M-dash is on my phone keyboard.

I forgot to mention, it is Kobametal not Koba-metal. So the hyphen is not used just because the name is shortened/split.

Technically the u is pronounced. It's just very short and voiceless. And pronouncing it with voice should be acceptable too. I assume it would vary by dialect.

For the next weeks you should spice it up a little bit, you've been only reacting to the same live show for weeks ahah (The Budokan show of 2014) It would be cool to check other shows from other years, to see the change in voices, performances, dresses, theatrics... it would be refreshing, besides the fact that you're discovering a new song each week :D Anyway keep it up guys :)

Thank you. The past few weeks have all been suggestions from patreon members, so we haven't had control over that but as long as there are no new patreon Babymetal suggestions, we will move on to other shows. We appreciate the support and the suggestions my friend

Due to the whole babymetal disappearance thing reminiscing over there amazing music from your guys reaction is amazing I grew up with these throughout school as I'm the same age roughly as them! Ahhh it feels great watching you react to them especially this song, when I 1st heard this the emotions and power of the song was incredible and still is today. Long live the fox gods and babymetal forever love them so much!!! ❤❤❤🖤🖤🖤

Fan of Babymetal Mondays! You really guys should react to Black Babymetal next, those songs are the "solo" performance of Yui and Moa and they destroy everything together. Onedari Daisakusen, Song 4, GJ! and Sis Anger (this last one is the one I personally recommend!)

It will be probably blocked on youtube, so prepare to upload it somewhere else, but it's for sure worth for it. This is a performance which made me fall in love with Su and her voice ❤️ 🦊🤘 and also prepare tissues for yourself.. It's beautiful

Now that you've seen a Su solo, There's also Black Babymetal, aka Moa and Yui, so I'd recommend Sis Anger or GJ for some of Babymetal's hardest songs, courtesy of the two small ones :) As for Su solos, I love this, but No Rain No Rainbow is better for me, as one of Babymetal's softest ballads, it also helped get me through a VERY dark day in my life recently.

You guys haven't gotten to BabyMetal's big inspiration yet: X Japan. In particular Kurenai, Weekend and Rusty Nail. And if you like balads, they got a can of those too. Endless Rain and Forever Love are coming to mind. The scream right after the intro: Look at Kurenai. And in Road of Resistance you hear "WE ARE....". X Japan could do that for minutes with the audience.

There was a little weird video on Reddit a couple years ago called sweaty Babymetal. Hell after the Palladium in LA a few years ago Super Moa-Chan had to go the hospital dehydrated.
