RARE BONUS at START: Endangered OBRY at Orangeville and Forks of the Credit on Nov 12 2021

Күн бұрынA quick SB chase of the Endangered OBRY on the Friday Morning of Nov 12 2021!
* For the RARE bonus at the start today we actually got to see 333 moving the Switch Van/Caboose around a little bit as for the past week or so it has been waiting in that spot for the flatbed truck to truck it north to Bala as it was resonantly sold with regards to this railway closing (NOTE, as of Nov 18 2021 it has since left Orangeville yd by flatbed truck).
Anyhow for the train chase Itself, wanted to do a couple other crossings along the line today which I hadn’t gotten yet & honestly they did require just a week bit more time to get to which is why today’s chase wasn’t quite as successful as my past couple in August & October but I think it’ll still do.
My shot at the forks by the top of the Trestle.. had to park somewhere at the bottom then sprint my way maybe 300m to the top along the road at the road curve to do that shot so a bit of a time consuming shot there but I think it’ll still do.

Thanks for posting. That Caboose originated from RICHARDS - WILCOX in Kitchener. I helped the person who purchased it do repairs and painting for the OBRY Fall scenic tour and the Christmas Train Party. Sadly the Owner passed away in April of 2021. Cherished Memories!

Too bad it's closing down there. Don't like seeing lines shutting down. On the other hand it's not often we see a caboose being totted around. That was a treat. You stayed in front of that pretty good.

Nice a caboose still in use. Nowadays, you only see cabooses in Asian countries with freight railways.

That has to be the best scenic ride when it’s just a little bit foggy out. Man I’d love to ride that train just once when it’s like that. Is there is speed limit over the trestle?

Honestly it’s still too early to know forsure & don’t think we’ll know exactly until the end of December gets here. Contract fully ends December 31 which is a Friday (stated by the crewmen himself) so think they’ll have running rights until that exact day to service the customers so it sure would be great if that’s the last day for a lot of us but no one will know forsure until the time actually gets here.. Since the 3rd week in October this train has only been running on Fridays, last 4 Tuesdays were quiet I believe. Rail Traffic is definitely slowing down

Hello BisDriven, not sure if youve heard yet but presently the last train out of Orangeville is scheduled to be departing Orangeville at just about 9am, crew I suspect will be on duty for 7am and they’ll be quickly grabbing the last few freight cars at the last 2 customers by Broadway before the 9am departure..

Hmmmm I honestly am not too sure exactly but probably sell it? Or maybe scrap if no one else is interested in buying? Or possibly the Trillium short line will purchase it also after Dec 31 and keep it for themselves maybe around their head quarters in st Catherine’s? We will find out VERY soon tho….

the hopper is still sitting in same spot but the town has started to rip out the metal track at the end of the line over by boardway
