Hey man, great to hear from ya! Yup I do remember our bombardier trade and I’m still as happy with the Northstar cars now as I was then, a really cool paint scheme they got!! Hope to go to Minnesota this September when the Jays play the Twins at Target Feild and while I am there, check out the Northstar in person myself, maybe even ride it 😂 -And ahhhh ok well that’s alright, some hobbies come in and out of your life while others stick around permanently that’s completely normal I understand. Been in the hobby since grade 5 (13 +yrs counting) so I was confident & knew what I was doing. Spur needed to be redone, I kept losing power on it as I explained in the vid hence why I redid it because it wasn’t gonna magically fix itself on its own

GEXR at dusk in the last rays of light on the Waterloo Spur heading to Elmira kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pNBzltWSl9G6qH0.htmlsi=A_rcMcOm6uJeUiqo . -Long story but Grew up a lil With that Branchline myself regardless of the fact that it was a hr away from me, so many great locations i thought to get good video footage of the coloured GEXR units on that line, especially with the fact that they were on duty at 7pm & typically ran north at dusk between May & July (longest summer months) even DURING LRT CONSTRUCTION time up to their last year on the branch in 2018. That year I finally got just a little evening video footage of GEXR on shared LRT + some pics as I did a lot of photography then but my skills were VERY LIMITED then to how they are now so definitely not my best work in my eyes & eh thankful i guess that I still have my little keepsakes but man do I wish I could’ve gotten MUCH more😢 -especially GEXR cutting through the Erb & Caroline st intersection crossing in last rays of light, pre-LRT (up to 2014). Just didn’t have the freedom to see it when it was possible as I had no car and no way really to get to Kitchener besides the few weeknights a year my parents once in a blue moon had off. Taking the GO down there by myself to see the train at night (well realistically evening) was NOT AN OPTION said my mother…. 🙃

There is just isn’t an excuse to shut this thing down. Should have tried to sell it to GIO for like a discounted take it off my hands price. And the 450 grand could have being saved and the line would still be operating to this day.

At one point in cando era there was talk about rebuilding the line all the way to Owen sound so a future industry could get products from the harbour there but that plan never fell thru sadly.

Northbound: approx 11:30pm-12:30am has to be your best bet. Occasionally it can be later than 1230 but almost never any later than 1am (*can’t enter shared LRT at Waterloo Public square a second before 11pm so if they get on right at 11, maybe 11:15 at the earliest passing U of W). And returns back SB approx 2 and a half to 3hrs later

Hmmm, well I was in Downtown yesterday & all Brampton crossings with lights seems to have just recently had the signals removed & a couple also patched over lightly. Honestly I’d be interested myself to know where they eventually end up going

Pretty sure CP only obtained trackage rights as far as the industry by Highway 401. Everything else was sold to Orangeville when they bought the line in 2000.

@@matthewp956 still fully in tact as of July 2023 as well as all the former OBRY right of way in Downtown Brampton & pretty much everywhere elsewhere to Orangeville besides a few crossings patched over.

Not to sound rude but they didn't "take back" 2 miles of the Owen Sound track in Streetsville. CP has always owned that and they have never sold it off.
