@@cnlbenmc Don'tn know if GW redconned it, but in earlier Editions of 40k the Imperial Guard actually HAD Ratling Sniper Squads as an option. OK, they looked more like underfed dwarves with bushy whiskers.. but hey... ;)

Thats also my take on this. C&C,DOW,SC and many more died because they changed it for a bigger audience that would never buy the game in the first place.

Starcraft/Brood War is an RTS ... Starcraft II is a Real-Time-ACTION game instead ... because the quickness of your reactions decides on success or failure.

Phoning in the balance and taking shortcuts also hurts them. Homeworld 2 was notorious for having broken AI that would drop everything to target your capture ships (making a core game mechanic useless) and scaling each level against the player's persistent fleet.

It's because they pursued that stupid eSports meme that RTS became inaccessible for some players, and then some of them made it into MOBAs.

@@HartlyLion imagine if the mouse and rats both used moles. Both side are digging to each other trench line and if they cross they would be like a skirmish just like on Vraks when the Krieg as doing it and if any side lose the tunnel they blow it up.

Mm, having some basic demo would go a long way in giving a kickstarter some credibility (worst are those that just blather on about some idea they have, like the one's in Idubbbz early kickstarter Crap vids).

I totally get what are you guys saying but still, people create crowdfunding projects to get funding for the actual development of games. Of course, they could show some small demo but still how would that demo even convenience people to crowdfund them? You won't be seeing the full product and by that, i mean complex mechanics and the 3D Art, you would be just seeing programming mechanics and a bunch of placeholders, if you're not a game dev then you won't be even able to know if what they made is complex to make or not. For me personally, trailers and 2D art are enough because i know how much effort it takes to make them.

If they want this to happen they can work at it while keeping a day job till it's good enough, but I can no longer bring myself to give money for a promise. It's just where I'm at now.

That makes no sense at all. Clickfest micro with barely readable fonts is not fun at all, if they managed to create something playable in a console good!, also Dungeon Keeper had first person controllable units and was great.

and ill say it, CoH isn't really fun when everything is a bullet sponge and its method of retreating over and over is boring when compared to the superiorty of men of war

@@sephiroaone-of-nine101 well I disagree, because I don't like my units to shred in seconds if I don't look at them for more the one second and if they couldn't take any hits you would need a huge amount of men to even attack a fortified position and it would be hard to contol such a mass of man and Mico manage their unique unit abilities. Unless there are just two types of Infantry this wouldn't work well. And why do people get angry about retreating units just take opportunity and start a counter attack and capture the unprotected terrorists after they retreated

@@sephiroaone-of-nine101 nah simply not true. The problem is, like in any hardcore game, It sounds better in theory then in practice. It seems like the modern gamers mind thinks realistic game equals good game and unrealistic games only exist because the game companies are boring and bad people who have no idea what players want. That's not the case. How much do you enjoy Arma, War thunder or any hardcore full loot pvp game? I bet it's fun at start but gets very frustrating very fast and you usually don't last long in that game after you died three times or one hour of gameplay and no, it's not just me it's a big fact that most players act that way. Back to RTS, it's already challenging to hold multiple fronts in CoH but it is possible because you can let stand your units behind a sandbag wall and expect them to survive for some time till you planned you next move to counter the other flank, now imagine you can't because they don't survive. It's simple impossible to play on that small scale of commanding units. In this case you should play on the, like you said, "grander" scale perhaps army scale? But such battles feel more like chess matches and I am sure you're seeking for action with as less frustration as possible, that's why CoH units are bullet sponges and the retreating ability exists. A realistic RTS would not consist of much action but building your army just to throw it into a meat grinder and repeat. Boring gameplay with not much action nor tactical freedom besides the option to frontally attack or flank.

Don't get too hopeful yet. Lots of people were willing to talk to Arch until the prim police got to the them and then they couldn't disavow fast enough. So now that people will KNOW that they talked to him, lets see how things pan out.

Western Allies being mice and Germans being rats while the other factions are cockroaches and lizards is really weird. Like, mice and rats are pretty similar to each other while the other two are very distinct.

This game is suppose to be a parody of WW1 so it can pull steampunk and science fiction infused unit design. Also, Germans werent nazis in WW1 so the label wouldnt even apply here, it would have to be WW2.
