You should check out Townes Van Zandt’s Waiting Around To Die. Ray Wylie Hubbard learned from Townes, Guy Clark & Jerry Jeff Walker. He also grew up in the Dallas blues clubs hanging around artist like Lightenin’ Hopkins & Freddy King. He learned to play guitar like the blues artist & write like the country/folk artist.

Love Ray Wylie Hubbard. I think you should check out Guy Clark's "The Guitar". Same vein as Hubbard, amazing story teller.
