I'm just starting into speed running myself, with a Limitless, Castle 1717 combo, etc, 90mph on 6s on my first 2 passes, that's as far as I am, and I have to say, this video was an absolute wealth of insight and knowledge that I can't thank you enough for. I learned so much just about what else I need to learn to get up to those speeds that I did not know at the start of this video. I very much look forward to more of these videos. First time Watcher. Subscribed right away after watching the hole video two times. Going back to watch some more as I work on my rc to hit 70mph. Just got back into the hobby thought I would start from scratch.

I’ve been into rcs for close to 20 years, past 5 years is when I got heavy into the build. From old school radio shack rcs lol to hobby grade 1/10-1/5 scales. Current collections are a felony, 2 built limitless, 2 x maxx, 2x 4wd build slash, xle Losi 1/5 Buggy, probably another 7-8 more, total over 20 hobby cars, it’s a fun hobby, gets your mind off the bs you deal with, and the results of your build is rewarding. Amazing channel and builds!

Awesome video. Being slow and smooth on the throttle is KEY. Or perfect pass. If I breathe and relax and I'm slow I pick up MPH every single time compared to getting too anxious and squeezing too fast. Good work raz

Thank you for making this video and I hope you keep making them to continue teaching the community without spoiling the fun for us. I've been struggling just to get to 100 mph with stock Typhon electronics. I've been stuck at 99 mph for a while. I love the way you make us think about it and solve our own problems. I have a castle MMX8 and TP4050cm waiting to go in but I refuse to install it until I reach my stock Motor & ESC goal of 100mph, and I've been chasing my tail just like this gentleman with no data logs to look at replacing parts blindly trying to find more speed.

In my eyes anyone that does speed runs deserves respect. I don’t care what anyone says. If your putting everything on the line to prove something at the cost of someone’s weekly, monthly income that’s a huge accomplishment!

I subscribed because I love how real you are. Your video of the t maxx brought back so many emotions of the first day I drove mine EXACTLY like it. I went from an RC18T to the nitro t maxx. I like how you put it in this video about all the hate and pissing matches on fb. It’s a hobby you are supposed to enjoy. I still have my t maxx although I converted it to brushless and it got too fast. I like my 1/8 brushless buggy. It stays upright. Can’t wait to see the quad motor runs.

I was enthralled the entire time. You've made me want to pull out my 100mph 2wd RC10 buggy project again and see what I can do. I need a better radio and much longer runs. It hit 70mph as it was passing my driving position measured with a Radar Gun, we didn't even get a GPS measurement, or let it "breathe" after it passed. It's got so much more speed geared as is I think!

Dude, great Vid! I've done a few speed runs, but my experience goes through to full scale auto's as well. It really is a easier to hit your base limit than people think. Gotta get that step "consistent" first. Great series idea, hope people don't catch on to how fast RC's can fly. Cheers!

I'm super stoked that someone that knows what he's talking about is open and shares his success. All these guys out there feel that hitting your own p.b is a secret and no one can see under there body's and no one can see what there running. I tip off my hat to you Mr. Raz!! This was 40 minutes absolutely well spent! You're help to this hobby community is simply unparalleled. You are truly a kind & humble person. I just learned a wealth of information from this video, mistakes that I have been making myself. One of the most important ones being the 'not long enough runs'. It's soo hard to see the car lol. I did use your Perfect Pass module this past weekend. I was doing a shakedown test after reassembling & tuning the car (limitless, MMX 8S /1717 1650kv) after a bad crash. Even with weak batteries (thought i charged them 🤦‍♂️) & a short run (900ft start to finish) since I just wanted to make sure it ran straight & smoothly, it hit just under 90mph. You can definitely feel the smoothness of the Perfect Pass, in both, acceleration & maintaining the car straight. I pulled the data log & although only 70% throttle, it was completely linear. I'm waiting for my BSR's to come in this weekend so I can try to get a full run in & see what I can get with the current gearing, 34T pinion /29T spur. Stock car setup with carbon fiber shock towers & ceramic bearings. Want to get a good solid baseline before I go crazy with upgrades lol, I have only had it since this past May. Max speed so far 102mph (w/o Perfect Pass). Thanks again for all your support in this hobby 😎👍

Hi Raz great video and so informative , i only wish others in the hobby were as open as you are ,i I'm quite new to speed running and don't have an unlimited budget I've just ordered a ZD X07 roller and plan to run this on an 8s system using a max 5 esc but un sure on what kv motor would be best any feed back would be great full

Thank you so much man. I'm a 1/10 scale indoor carpet oval and oradcourse racer and getting into these big speed run cars. Thanks for all the info I learned so much that I didn't know before this video. I got the open wheel limitless and got It to 105 mph my 2nd run ever I can get 120 or more but need to do some more tunning and work on it and slowly get to 120. But what I learned is once you get to 100 mph it takes alot more power and gearing to get up past 100 even getting to 100 mph with a RC car is impressive. Now the carpet racing I do I got a road race car that is touring pro mod class and we are doing 75 mph down the long straight on the track and flying it is craZy fun all the grip speeds and even different bodies and where you mount the body changes handling. I got 3 other classes I run as well on road. Now oval my fastest division we are doing 80mph wide open never lift on the oval with pan car nascar bodies with billboards on the left side for more lateral grip. But also guy go into your radios and make sure you are maxed out on throttle rate. Like my spectrum I can set it to 140 percent max is the most throttle throw I can get out of my electric RC cars with that radio that is the most and fastest my throttle rate will go when I first got radio it was set at 100 and didn't realize until a day or two I could jack it up to 140 percent for electric RC cars for gas motor cars don't go past 100 cause then it will start rolling by it's self

Amazing video Iove the idea of it. When I had the speed bug I found myself making the same mistakes. I would not give my car enought room to let packs voltage recover. The most important was my fat finger smashing the trigger too hard. This causes my voltage to drop drastically and didn't have the room to recover. Once I learned proper trigger control and to legthen the run I gained mph. Now I am done with searching for speed and just enjoy the sport with my son. Love the community and am very grateful for people like yourself. Watching you stay so dedicated to the sport while maintaining a positive and kind attitude is inspirational.
