People might give you crap about a 15 year old kid playing bass, but Suzuka is only 16 here. You can perform at a very high level at a young age, having never heard the kid I can't judge. Rule of thumb in music as my instructors told me, is that you perform at about 40% of your ability on stage in front of a crowd. Budokan is a martial arts venue, for karate and sumo. They invite artists to perform from time to time, and it is an honor to play there in Japanese culture. You see a lot of center stages at Budokan as it is an octagon like all MA arenas. This is a quite sophisticated piece of music, with a syncopated beat and discordant sound as a metaphor to nightmares Suzuka is singing about. One of their best songs; but not popular as it sounds a little off. Of course it does, that's the metaphor.

Knowing the Lyrics to this really adds weight to the performance. A recurring nightmare being chased by a formless deamon begging a boon for it to show its true form to her at least once before she dies. The breakdown towards the end where Su went into a rag doll stance was the part where she was hiding in a fountain hoping she would not be found.. Still gives me chills everytime I hear this one. Thanks for the reaction and Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 Lyrically this is probably their darkest song. It's about being trapped in a nightmare with no escape. It's certainly not intended to be one of their catchier songs considering the subject matter. I'm sorry you weren't moved more by this song or performance. In my opinion, it's a mistake to try and look at a translation at the same time that you're hearing a song for the first time. I think you should concentrate on listening to the song without that distraction, and read the translation later, or read it before hearing the song. You may disagree, and that's fine. You might just prefer the poppier songs anyway. At any rate, I'm upvoting for your honest opinion.

Guessing you are more into the pop side of Babymetal. I would recommend the new songs Pa pa ya and Shanti shanti shanti. They might be more of what you like. The One is a ballad done as a fan tribute, so if you are looking for a ballad The One or No rain, no rainbow are good choices. If you want to see another of the many styles of this band then I would recommend Black Babymetal where Su takes a break and the other girls take over. Moa and Yui have dancers and sing songs, my favorite of these is Onedari Daisuken. Which roughly translates to Operation Ask Dad. Very kawaii and a very different vibe than the songs you have reacted to. Just depends on what you like, they have a lot of songs out there and they are all a bit different. 2 full albums plus almost 1/2 of the unreleased album are all out there already.

The intro is nice. I think the song itself isn't great. There is a compilation where they put it before 'Catch Me if You Can' and that is clearly better.

If you prefer the catchy hooks then Doki Doki Morning MV, iine! Live, Uki Uki Midnight Live, Awadama Fever Live, Yava! Live if you are more daring (incredible song), Tales of the Destinies Live if you want to be blown away.

If Rondo doesn't appeal to him then ToTD will be even farther away from what he likes. I'd recommend Syncopation, Yava, Awadama Fever, maybe PA PA YA.

The Nippon Budokan is a martial arts sports arena in Tokyo that was built in 1964 and that also functions as a concert hall. Many legendary acts have performed there, like the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Queen, Kiss, etc., and of course BABYMETAL. The Tokyo Dome is a sports (baseball, football, etc.) stadium that opened in 1988 and also serves as a concert/event venue. In other words, they're not the same venue. ;-)

The Budokan was built for the 1964 Olympics as a martial arts center and gymnasium. As a musical venue, if you are invited to play the Budokan, you are considered a success in the music industry in Japan. Side note, Iron Maiden's "Live in Japan" was recorded in the Budokan as well.

Ozzy was at the first show , the first time Babymetal played at Budokan.... its a who's who that pay to watch the show... ticket prices are really high... So if you can get them screaming and reacting the way Babymetal does... your career is pretty much set ...

One thing that you could improve is more detailed thoughts on the songs. But like i said i i am aware, you are not comfortable to talk in English all that much so its ok :) By the way, what is the name of other bassist that you mentioned during Boh Bass SOLO? I would love to check him/her out if its possible,

Hello fellow German, you got my subscribe. Nice reactions so far ;) - Yeah at first it is unusual to see Sumetal without the other 2 Girls. But then you should try a Livesong with only the 2 Girls (Moa&Yui) like Onedari Daisakusen or Sis Anger. The Subunit is called Black Babymetal and they performed when Su took a break. Like they did whe Su did a Solosong.

Su being solo seeming kind of strange can really be applied to her career in general. She did do solo performances when she was much younger, like for ASH talent showcases, and other events. However, even at ASH, she also had a duo called TWEEN with her older sister Himeka, and she performed with other people in plays, things like that. She was in the trio Karen Girl's when she was 10, continuing into her 11th year. In spring of 2010, about a year after Karen Girl's was disbanded (because the _Zettai Karen Children_ anime series ended), she became a founding member of the group Sakura Gakuin. BabyMetal started within Sakura Gakuin a few months after that, but the first solo song she had in BabyMetal was _Akatsuki_ which debuted in January 2012. So, performing solo just hadn't really been her usual gig (at least not for a while), though she does have two solo songs per album on the first two albums, as well as a live performance of a cover song called _White Love._ In short, I agree about it seeming unusual. :D

The One is a ballad, but very catchy. The other songs are rather a B-grade but quite entertaining as well. 🙂 Pa Pa Ya and Shanti really are not everyones cup of tea. Lots of people like to recommend this vid but a better vid for you might be Awadama Fever which also has a great band intro but has the whole group singing a more pop song with lots of dancing.

A good honest reaction as usual. Some songs are just growers. In a few months this one mightget you. I used to actively dislike TOTD. Now I would attend a concert just to hear that one song live.

I can't imagine anyone not being moved to the core by a song this emotionally crushing and musically beautiful x( It's certainly my favorite thing yuyoyuppe ever did for BABYMETAL and one of my top favorite songs he's penned. It stands out like crazy

Akumu no Rondo is about a grim situation with no escape, and both the lyrics and music express that despair intensely. That's all~

I think you should react to their newer songs: Pa pa ya (official video, not the BBC one) and Shanti shanti shanti. For older songs: Headbanger, catch me if you can, and their first songs : Doki Doki morning and iine. I personally think you can leave the one for another time. It’s not catchy and it’s slow (still good though)

Interesting that you weren't very fond of this song, I didn't think that's possible. :-) It's one of my favourites, I love the atmosphere and the beautiful melody. And Su's performance is beyond any doubt. "The One" is not a bad choice, it's not a Su solo, though. I would go with the official music video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/isCCqbJhuJO4fIk.html
