Well the public destruction of the Land Rover brand is the gift that keeps on giving, and this time it's not even me that's throwing fuel (or batteries) onto the already well established fire that is JLR.
In this video we're taking a look at a recent Land Rover post on facebook about 'Well Being' features. There were 500 comments to choose from so here's a round up of some of the best (and funniest).
Enjoy!

A guy drops his Range Rover off for repair the day before he's given a 5 year jail sentence. Gets released from prison 5 years later and goes back to the Land Rover dealer to see if his cars still there. The service manager said the parts needed are still on back order, and that he should call back in a month's time.

I take task with those who think JLR don't care about their existing customers. Just look at me, my 2015 Defender used to be a very commonly stolen model - then JLR kindly released newer/more desirable/more valuable models that are super simple to steal. I've had LRs and been on LR forums for a good number of years and EVERY ONE of us said focussing 100% on the luxury market was a mistake. What we all wanted from the new Defender was something like the new Suzuki or Dacia but more LR-like. They've had problems with the cutting edge tech since the 90s and never managed to get it right, they really needed to focus on a basic model and then build on that. A company built on the Series and RR Classic who have models literally called "heritage" completely ignored their heritage and went for the soudi prince and essex chav market instead of their core customer base.

A Land rover should be a vehicle built and designed for bashing about on muddy, rocky tracks. With this in mind, it shouldn't have flimsy bits of chrome or plastic trim, or alloy wheels that you can't hammer dents out of after you get that tricky gateway wrong. This goes for the bodywork. Also the interior should be made out of materials that you can hose down after taking muddy dogs for a trip out. Form and technology over function is pandemic in this modern world.

One rare occasion my ancient, long owned (many decades)LWB SIII was cleaned; really, really excellent valet job; without a trace of DNA or a finger print was when it was "borrowed" and used in a security van robbery. The local police took me to the abandoned vehicle and my first remark was "cannot possibly be mine, it is clean!" Only time it ever had a valet; otherwise never washed except by rain and traversing rivers and pre annual welding of chassis tickles. The police probably removed any (expected) compensation payment left by the pros who had borrowed it and left it better than they found it. That's very true and you only see Toyota products out in the bush with a few Isuzus, Mitsubishi's and Nissan's. Some of this Chinese crap is being bought as well. You only see JLR products in wealthy parts of Sydney or Melbourne. I saw 2 Ineos Grenadiers today on the motorway heading out west, not broken down either, but flying past me at over 120kph. They're very imposing and the direction where JLR should've gone with the Defender. Sadly I've seen plenty of the new Defenders on flatbed tow trucks. There's a horror story that all the Chimes and bongs, combined with a thirsty standby computer can flatten the battery fast and the only way to get it moving again requires a tech with a laptop. That works well for survival in the outback.

Our only problem is that due to Brexit, parts are slow to get from the UK to us here in Slovenia and there are added costs. It used to be a few days max for an order, now it can be two or three weeks. Ours is RH drive and parts available here would be for LH drive vehicles and there are differences you would not imagine on the face of it.

At some point you have to stop and ask: "Just what is it that EV's are supposed to be saving us from?" There is one question that never gets asked that would expose the "climate crisis" for the scam that it is, which is "What percentage of the atmosphere is CO2?" The answer, never given in plain language, is that CO2 is currently around 420 parts per million, increased, they tell us, from 280 ppm in 1850. That's a difference of 140 ppm, or in terms more readily understood by the layman, the composition of the atmosphere has changed by 0.014% (14 thousandths of 1%) in the last 170 years. LESS THAN 1 THOUSANDTH OF 1% PER DECADE! How much closer to "zero" do they think it's possible to get? How gullible do you have to be to believe that this rate of change is causing extreme weather events, which have always happened and always will? Their claim is that this tiny amount "traps heat". ALL gasses dissipate heat and even if CO2 is an exception, the suggestion that a total of 0.042% can overwhelm the capacity of the remaining 99.958% to dissipate that heat is abject nonsense. CO2 DOES NOT control the global temperature, there is no "climate crisis". Wind farms, solar panels, heat pumps, EV's.. None of these measures are necessary, nor will they have the slightest effect on the weather. Eye-watering sums of money have already been wasted on this futile exercise. Time to wake up, stop throwing our money at these boondoggles and squandering the world's resources on projects that cannot possibly succeed as there never was a problem to begin with. There is no need to save the planet from a minuscule increase in the gas on which all life depends, but it does need to be rescued from idiot politicians and media mouthpieces that push this garbage.

@ericdunn555 I think that is one of the decent ones as both Harry Metcalfe and Jeremy Clarkson love their L322 Range Rover's. From my dad's experience he had Discovery's all bar the MK1 version's he had have had issues, the TD5 series 2 (one had gearbox, electrical, water pump faults and the second had electrical and decided to go onto two cylinders when on a holiday in the South of France during the 2003 heatwave) version's being the worse ones he had, he swapped to Mitsubishi for a bit and had two Shogun's (Pajero), but decided to go back to Land Rover with a Discovery 3 which was a decent vehicle but did have some electrical gremlins. What doesn't help is that some of dealerships aren't always great. The Discovery 3 ok bur had a re-occurring fault where it would cut out and the local dealer kept claiming it was due to my dad's trailer he was towing, so he removed the trailer at the dealership and took the not so smart service advisor for a drive down the road and the car did cut out on them. That dealer still couldn't find a fault and on a caravan holiday up north the car broke down on Scotch corner and was recovered and taken to a local dealer near Durham and they immediately found the fault the other dealer couldn't find which was a worn wire shorting on the chassis. He now has a reliable little 2010 Honda CRV which compared to a lot of other ones on the road, does a lot of work and has done over 100,000 miles.

I was welding new rear crossmembers on 1st mot discoveries. The 90's and 110's were alright as such cos they were cheap to fix. You knock a corner off a new defender and the bill will be eye watering, previous to that you got a hammer and bashed it straight, they've lost their way now.

The annoying thing is that JLR were fully aware of the lack of quality control of their overseas suppliers and carried on regardless. An example is the wiring harness, JLR went to the storage warehouse (JIT is a lie) and tested the harness, it had a failure rate of over 70%.!! How much faith can you place in the 30% that went into vehicles.

So what, the solution to it all is just to bin the only semi-British car maker we have left? How does that help us as a country at all? We need these firms to create jobs, and if those jobs are making crap stuff change the people responsible. What little reputation the brand had is gone now, so an overhaul is needed, not complete disassembly. People love being snide about British stuff, but to the outside world it just looks like nihilistic whining from a place that can't recognise that it's problems are national, not just down to some nicked or broken cars. The whole industry has connived in its' own downfall all the way back to Leyland and BMC. Workers don't work or do it badly and managers don't manage and have zero imagination, hence using the same engine for 40-odd years in its small cars. Then Honda bails it out and it stiffs them and jumps into bed with BMW, who oddly didn't want to compete with itself and walked away whistling. Who's to say Tata (or insert current owner looking for gvmt handout here) haven't done exactly he same? End rant. Thx for listening.

It's true that the gearbox failed in the XF (after servicing) but that's a ZF problem not a Jaguar problem. I get mine maintained at a specialist, I wouldnt touch a main dealer. All the electrical systems in both cars have been reliable and I've got no complaints. Also the added kudos of pulling up somewhere in an XJ is priceless.
