8:20 omg jessica mentioned this point that i never hear ANYONE talk about!!!!!!!!!! before i realized i was a lesbian i questioned my gender and thought maybe i was genderfluid or agender or maybe a trans guy, etc. and then finally i realized i'm just a huge lesbian. the funny thing is i'm actually a femme and like i'd consider myself not very masculine at all, but there's a certain disconnect from other women that i feel because i feel that so much of being a woman depends on how men view you - and i don't care if men view me at all! so sometimes i'll say my gender is lesbian just bc that makes more sense to how i feel. but semantically i'm still v much a woman i suppose.

sorry i'm extremely late but yes i relate! you may know this by now but this is the reason for nonbinary and he/him lesbians. it's a pretty common experience, i identified as nonbinary for nearly 5 years before realizing nope, i'm just a big lesbian. but i still feel that slight detachment from other women-- you're not alone!

Moomin I was busy making dinner with it on in the background whilst my daughter was making bread with her Dad.We then had a conversation about Jessica being Quaker and different religions and that some people are religious and some aren't etc so I think her education is doing ok.Oh speaking of education maybe you should educate yourself on not making assumptions about how people live and teach their children.Take care 😉

Speaking as a Panromantic person, I think Bi/Pan people tend to have a delay in discovering that we're not 100% straight, especially if we grow up with little to no Queer representation, we just tend to go with "well, princesses marry princes!" because that's almost all we're aware of; any Queer representation we did get when we were younger was often very stereotyped, so if we don't fit that stereotype of what we think it is to be Queer, the idea that we might be Queer doesn't even enter out minds, because of this preconceived notion of what being Queer entails. Even as a Bi/Pan person, you might have your preference of one gender over the other, as far as physical attraction goes.

I had the boy thought too!! Not that I’ve ever felt dysphoric in the least, but I truly remember thinking when I realized I liked girls (as a little girl) that if somehow you could look inside of me, you would find that I was a boy😅 I just thought only boys could like girls.. I grew up in South Louisiana in the 80’s and have very conservative parents and had zero feminine lesbian representation so I just thought that I couldn’t possibly be gay because I liked being feminine.. I didn’t come out until I was 33 and was married to a man and raising two beautiful daughters. I fell in love w my life long best friend (we met in jr high at 12 yrs old) and luckily she fell too☺️💖 It was a really difficult time but nearly 5 yrs later things are really wonderful and I can hardly remember my life before....I am also chronically ill (Crohn’s disease)and disabled(Severe Multifocal Avascular Necrosis)and coming to the realization that I’m also on the autism spectrum- so this channel is EVERYTHING to me!! I have felt really isolated because I have all these things that “other” me and have no one irl that truly understands, though I’m surrounded by so much love and people who do their damndest everyday to love and support me. It’s just really cool to see such beautiful representation and I’m super grateful for the way you share your life💖 I just had my first joint replacement surgery (right shoulder-lol yeah my dominant hand) so I’m currently laid up and taking this opportunity to binge all your videos😬☺️ Y’all are just so lovely!! So much love to you all!! (If you finished this novella- thank you!!🤣💖🌈✨☺️)

Thank you for sharing your stories. When my daughter came out at 13 as "bisexual" my knee jerk reaction was, "No your not! you're a lesbian!" (she never had a crush on any boy-ever! it was all girls.) I didn't tell her that until she was older and came out again as a lesbian... finally. It's her journey it's up to her to find her way. I"m so glad there is content like this available to her!

Jessicaaaa! Your description of your feelings toward girls and mildly not disliking boys is EXACTLY how I felt as a young person. I identify as pan or queer (if I have to) but seldom feel actual feelings for a man. That programming from childhood is still sort of there, actually. Whenever I don’t dislike a fella I think “do I fancy them? ...no, actually.”

Awww! I loved this :) I came to the realization that I was bi at the age of 15, when I was snuggled on the couch with my best friend, and she was getting hot and bothered by the perfume I was wearing....and I liked it. I remember laying there and thinking, "Oh! I like girls. I like girls? Yes, yes I do. HUH." It was liberating! And then came four years in a Catholic high school, that I would never EVER want to go through again. Thank goodness there are no repeats!

I love you guys so much! I honestly almsot begin to cry sometimes when I watch you just because you love each other so much and seem so happy! I just stared supporting you, because I hope that you keep doing what you do for a long, long time. I personally identify as pansexual and I'm right now struggling with coming out to my mom since she isn't that positive about the lgtbq+ community overall, but this gives me strength!

I have to say a big thank you Jessica. I recently spent time in Hospital and went through a period where I was having difficulty to talk so used some sign language. Just stumbled upon this channel and I love it. I am also a gay, Quaker in the UK who speaks a bit of sign language. Im so surprised because very few people know of Quakers and its such a wonderful, loving community, Thank you

Hi, dearest Claudia and Jessica❤ I'm a fan from Italy. I was born in the middle 90s. From extremely early age I remember questioning myself about the possibility of being lesbian. I remember "liking" my best friends from primary school and being afraid of it. Growing up, I also had crushes on boys, and so I was thinking "phew, that's fine, I'm straight, it's alright". But of course the crush-on-girls situation never stopped. In high school, when you explore your sexuality and all your friends start having boyfriend/girlfriends I was secretly attracted by lesbian comics/fan art/videos. I've always denied it. Finally, in my mid 20s I knew I was 100% bisexual. I'm now engaged with a man who supports me. When we see a movie, I'm free to chat with him about the hottest acretss etc. I'm very happy with him. The only thing I regret is not having accepted my being B from early age. I missed the opportunity of dating girls and be myself at 360°. Thanks you for sharing your story, I feel like your videos are a safe space to tell mine as well. Thank you for your videos❤❤❤

Hi Jessica I just wanna tell you how much your videos mean to me. I have Aspergers, so exiting is pretty tiring. I am also gay and just wanna tell you that you telling about your handicap, and how much being around people tire you and you being so openly gay, helps me and makes me happy to be me. I remember I used to wanna be a boy, because when I would then it wouldn't be weird or disgusting, that I was gay and I liked girls. I also remember that the kids in school when I was little use to call me fag and told me to kill myself pretty much the seven years I went to that school. but to be honest I doing think they told me to kill myself because I was gay. because that was like years before I even knew I liked girls. I think they just did it because they did not like me. Also we were kids so I think they just call me fag because they just knew it was a bad word and a great way to make kids hate themselves. but everything its so much better. Because I have a girlfriend now who I love more than anything and she has Asbergers too. So its nice to have somebody who understands you and the way you see the world. And your videos make me happy too. so thank you so much for that. Because of my Asbergers I kind of know what its like to do your best every day to not go to a place were you just feel like you are a burden, or 'or something like that. Thank you
