Thank you for talking about the pitfalls and stupid things that ford did (such as connectors that you have to push in and pull out to pull out, or that the fuel rail has to come off). It saves me time!

I have sever carpal tunnel in my left hand and was still able to reach in and get all 8 coils and plugs changed without pulling the fuel injection manifold. Even with this major unnecessary work, really well done video. I got the 6" magnetic socket. There were 2 that the 10" might have been difficult to use but 3" and 6" added extensions got all of them. NOTE TO ALL! You absolutely do need compressed air blower for this job. I cleared a Ton of crap with it. Blow right before pulling coils. After pulling coils and again after loosening plugs but before pulling them all the way out. Most of mine yielded a lot of particles after loosening the plugs. Do not put anything on plug threads. Dry threads, and 14lb/ft is not very tight so be careful you don't overtighten them or the next change will be a royal pita

I changed coil #5. It was somewhat easy. No removal of fuel rail. Then coil # 7 crapped out . THIS WAS A BIG PAIN! Next time I'm taking it to the shop!!!!!!! BTW This all happened during the course of a Chicago Winter on my open lot for parking. Hats off to you guys on a GREAT video. Wish I saw it before jumping into this with just a little coaching from parts shop. The parts shop guy has the same van so he explained a lot.

Use a 6 or 7 inch rubber hose 2 start & take out the Plugs. Works Great!

Dude, I was able to change all spark plugs without removing the fuel rail, the hardest thing is getting to 2 of the coil bolts otherwise all the coils have enough room too pop up and twist out and enough room to put the new one in, it's just a manner of having the correct extension which I had to learn lmao

I made my life easier by just working a little extra in my expedited delivery business and earning the money to take my '12 E350 Super Van Basic, 5.4L Flex Fuel, (I'm the original owner) down to the shop I use near my house, and let them do the work. He allows me to buy the OEM Ford parts (online, cheaper than my dealer, at FORD PARTS CONNECT in NJ, fast shipping), and he does the work. I have 781K and my #7 cylinder and maybe other burn oil, and I have to add a quart every 800 miles. I'm going to buy a remanufactured 5.4L and have it installed. I'll replace the water pump and the timing chain, and I should be good to go. Air filters on these 5.4's, always use a Motorcraft, the other brands don't fit right. I also know people in the same business as me and the Ford Transit motors last half as long or less than these tough 5.4 motors.

I don't know man but I have the same van and when I replaced spark plugs and coils I did not remove the fuel rail the job can still get done without removing it

I keep thinking about the horrors of a plug job on our old ‘80 & ‘86 with the 351C & the 460 respectively. Those plugs are down on the underside of the valve covers. A true p.i.t.a. sandwich. Makes the job I’m watching this video to learn how to do seem easy.
