The plaintiff says she paid the defendant for a trip to London, but it was canceled because of the pandemic. He offered her a credit but won’t give her a refund. She’s suing for her money back. The defendant says he was able to get the hotel refunded, but the airlines would only offer a credit. He’s countersuing for fees for organizing the trip.

She's ridiculous... she has the value of the airfare and the London pass to use at a later date ... HE DIDN'T CANCEL THE TRIP... COVID DID. The defendant seems like a genuine guy.. I would love to be part of a group like that where someone assumes the headache of planning everything and all I have to do is show up 👏👏

If you are American you might not know about Europass for trains but they are a great way to see lots of places for cheap. Our trains are fast, clean, safe and go just about everywhere. Also check out hostels, they are nothing like those horror films. If you are a high school or college student there are student cafes that offer 3 course meals for cheap

Dealing with people like the plaintiff can drive you mad! Lady...if he was such a terrible thief, why did you allow him to plan 4-5 of your previous trips? Corona affected many, many people's lives. Her anger towards the defendant is almost as if he caused the virus😩 No accountability at all.

She should look deeper into this cuz my son was stuck in Madrid with his girlfriend fam, and that airlines refunded two separate tickets. Cuz Covid kept shutting everything down .

the plaintiff's rant at the very end shows you she didn't listen to a word that was said. she has the value of things that were bought. i really hope she understands what happened as i believe this case was actually aired in 2020, and she gets to use the value of the things she purchased at a later date. it sucks, but that's how it is. everyone got hit by COVID, but we were finally able to do things in 2022.

Pre pandemic was the last good time to go to England. After Brexit went into full effect, the UK has been on a fast slide into the toilet. The price of everything has, and continues, to skyrocket. Pubs, shops and restaurants etc are closing left and right. Most of my favorite places have closed and everyone is getting angrier by the day.

@@Marigirly it really is....housing cost and shortage in the Netherlands, high gas cost and food banks are running low because so many cannot afford to eat. In major cities we now have breakfast bags for kids given out by the Red Cross

Him making it that goodie bag was out the kindness of his heart and he was doing something nice. Dude you got a few trip lol that money that was "left over" wasn't your money lol its was everyone else's that you decided to use to buy those bags. I'm wondering if he made money on top as well as a free trip because how was there money left over 🤔 he had the price, he told them the price , so I'm thinking he told them it was costing more than it was so he got not only the fee trip but also his spending money lol

A lot of the time, costs change depending on the number of the group. The initial price was likely a guesstimate (and it probably pays to guesstimate on the higher end). I probably would have done a refund at the end of the process, but doing a goodie bag does usually generate good will as well as providing an easy way to recognize people in your group during the trip (ie: the branded backpack). It wasn't a bad idea. With how snotty the plaintiff was being, the judge should have ordered her to return the bag if she wants the $100. And yeah, he got a "free" trip, but it wasn't really free. He paid for it by doing ALL of the organization and itinerary, and he has to be the point person for all problems and inquiries during the trip itself. Break that down to an hourly rate, and you probably aren't that far off of $1200.

This was a nonrefundable trip according to the contract it seems that the plantiff signed up for. Folks need to read the fine print any time you enter into an agreement (contract)like this. Any contract do your due diligence and pay attention.

"If I have extra money..." That extra money isn't his to play with. Everyone else is paying for everything, and if he ends up getting better deals and it doesn't cost as much, he should give that money back. With that being said, he sounds like a scammer saying "I usually do it out of my own kindness." Clearly that's not the case at all.

I actually think Harvey may be wrong on the money. I'm in Canada, but I think your laws are similar in that legal tender is only required to be accepted for payment of contractual debt. A store is not legal debt and the stores can mandate whatever form of payment they like. The laws don't prohibit her from refusing cash in a store, although the store themselves may have an issue with that. Then, for me, the question becomes is it fair to refuse cash during covid as unsafe work conditions. With gloves, it may not be and the store may be able to mandate taking it providing they provide safety equipment... aka gloves... but the law doesn't care. But that's just the opinion of an accountant from Alberta Canada.
