Frr. The only ones I think I had were save the earth and destroy all monsters and they were probably the greatest thing I had at the time. Still one of the best things I can play. So glad my dad bought them for his PS2 back before I was born

It’s great to see Charlie so easily discover Godzilla Save the Earth: Melee, they’re working on a version 2 which totally revamps the combat (like they’ve done for version 1), so the online contests are on pause but people still play it

I'm sure Charlie ain't gonna see this but that "Competitve" scene for Save the earth is actually a community made expansion of the game called "Save the Earth Melee" which is essentially a game that focuses more on better combo flow, juggling, and predictions as compared to the older counterparts. What makes it even better is the fact that the devs are still working on it and plan to release an absolutely absurd character Roster with updated textures, models, combos, sounds, etc etc etc. I do highly recommend people who love Godzilla games (especially the pipeworks series) to try it out, it's free and they have a fairly active discord community to boot with it.

yo charlie, this video means so much to me. i watch your videos everyday but this one really hits home, back in 2018 me and my buddys were homeless/couch surfing together and the 3 of us went in on a ps2 and this game. recently one of my friends passed away and i have never heard anyone else talk about this game. watching this made me cry alil. asher would have loved this video and i thnak you for helping me relive those memories

I mean the music in that game in particular was a serious step up in memorability over the previous two games, though I'd argue that destroy all monsters had a pretty epic soundtrack for the fights compared to save the earth.

I don't see why they'd be the ones to touch War of the Monsters, they've never made a fighting game and they're pretty busy with Marvel and Ratchet already. I'd love a new game in this series, but they'd probably want to give it to a new studio and make it a live service thing or something.

War of the Monsters was developed by Incognito the Twisted Metal devs, which went by a few different names, but yeah War of the Monsters 2 or a remake of that OG game at the moment is unlikely, but in the future, especially if Sony has a change of heart for their dormant IPs.

War of the Monsters is easily the best Kaiju game ever made and extremely underrated. It’s still in my top 10 favorite games of all time. Huge part of my childhood and still play it a lot today. I prey for a remake with modern graphics one day.

Godzilla Save the Earth was and is my bread and butter. It refined the gameplay of Destroy All Monsters Melee and added beam clashing into the mix. Not to mention the huge roster. I’d love for the SNES Godzilla 2-D fighter to get a US release what with the Switch being popular for retro games.
