I enjoy hearing your diagnostics and value assessments. Provided a manufacturer can and WILL support products with quality parts, they can be saved. Another issue I've learnt from you is which good quality hand tools are worth buying. Items like small Torx drivers that are NOT made of Plasticine & fit properly. I have used crap in the past, they wreck screws and waste time. Thanks for being a good teacher.

Good morning, I believe it would be a plus if you would wear rubber gloves when putting your hands into petroleum. I used to constantly put my hands in gasoline, kerosene, lacquer thinner and I stopped because of all the ill effects the petroleum products had on me. Hi Dean. Looks like you were more of a sparks today! Not only can you fix all the mechanical stuff, but you also know all about what makes them tick!! Is there anything you CAN'T fix??!?

I got an old 30+ year old Bosch SDS 110v drill & to this day I still think it drills better than any other drills I used. I know Bosch invented the SDS system but there seems to be something different in how they actually drill that is way more efficient than others. The other fantastic drill I had was a original Metabo back when they were proper industrial build quality when every plumber & electrician had Metabo drills.

I donno why but Milwaukee tools feels like toys, temporary toys. They just don't give me the secure feeling that old tools used to have.

Rare to see an angle grinder last long enough for all the bearings and the gears to be worn out while the machine is still in good condition otherwise.

I have done a handful of those bosch board level repairs. Between Milwaulkee and some other brands, I've been able to save them when the board is either too expesive or unavailable. Just cant replace the main controller chip since they have programming I don't have.

Nice one, spotting the bad connectors in the DeWalt nail gun, that's not an easy thing to find.

Would it be worth opening up new Bosch cheepo tools and potting the controller board yourself? Sort of preventative maintenance.

I had one it was smaller than that Makita Grinder, the first one, in the video that I don't know if it was from the 70s probably the 80s and unfortunately I lost it in a storage. It still was good. I don't know what model, but it had a black slider switch on the side that you push it forward and it would stay running I mean you could let go of the switch.

I have one of them Milwaukee grinders I purchased it brand new in 2019 and went to replace it as a matter of course and that has that bearing fitted, but looking at the armature on the one your fixing is different in design yours has a red fan and a red end cap and also where that bearing is pressed on yours it isn't as beefy, that bit on mine is about the same diameter as the diameter of the bearing. And looking at yours it's a veritable speed unit that could be why the armature looks different maybe.

What are SKF bearings like, any good? Also what grease do you use, for example in the grinder? I have heard you mention Bosch grease at some point? Would be interesting with a video on grease if there are different greases you use for different parts of tools etc if there is enough to have a video on it.

Hi Dean, just to let you know, I bought a Wiha system 6 set from Amazon, and the quality is fantastic. However, the set is still incomplete even after 3 replacement orders bits are still missing. I've found Amazon is not the place to buy Wiha products

Loving videos mate my Makita 18 v rip snorter playing up still working just! But you have to slide battery in and out for it spin is it worth fixing?

Dean I have had a couple of DeWalt brushless circular saws come in not powering up but if you twist the blade slightly it will work perfect and keep working until the blade stops again I can leave it run till it nearly stops and press the trigger and it will go perfect but soon as I leave it come to a complete stop Blade has to be twisted again for it to work have you ever seen this before if you could reply would be great help thanks

Dean ,see regarding the flexvolt batteries and their protection capabilities and difficulty to repair.would it make sense to check their voltage every few days to check when they start to lose power .then you can maybe boost them a bit to get them back up to a reasonable voltage before they fall below the required voltage to boost if that makes sense?

It sounds like you are a victim of your own success, your videos are a great advert for your repair service. You can repair pretty much anything and it's very notable that you are always considerate of the overall cost and viability of the repair. Many repair shops either give up too easily or don't consider if its really worth it for the customer.
