Should have put a gob of high temperature grease under the hub to prevent hot grease from melting off the wheel bearing, and brake grease on the caliper pins.

could you explain the proper torque / tightening sequence for the hub spindle nut? also...when collapsing the caliper piston, one of the old brake pads works great as a surface to use with your c-clamp. i've actually broken one of the pistons before clamping directly to the piston. partially my fault because i forced it, and partially because the caliper was basically seized. anyhow...really enjoy your videos! one of the few folks out there posting good information on the box panther cars! please keep them coming!

I would recommend You use a Brake clean to clean the grease that was on your hands or you contaminate the new brake pad and rotor!

Hello what size socket did you use for the wheel?

Is this process similar on a 82 Continental? Also if it is, what torque wrench did you use? I’ve heard it’s 3/8” but I’m not sure

When finished I have play in my calipar. Can you tell me if this is normal. They are not tight to the car to clarify. There's very slight play.

Brits . . . uses the jack stand to hold up the caliper instead of the car. NEVER rely on a floor jack to support the car, expecially not a Big Lots edition cheapy. Otherwise, good vid.

Omg. You used channel locks, it a deep socket. You let the caliper sit on the brake line, even for the single moment, before resting it on something... I can't even.... I do like your videos, you almost have one for everything I've needed to fix on my 88 as they come up. Lol

Similar procedure for rear axle as well?

I have an '88 Town Car I just bought pads and rotors for, and was going to get someone to install them, because I read it was difficult, but thank you for showing it's not. I just have to find me a c-clamp now. And did I see 'Lincoln' tires on your car?

You didnt have to bleed the brakes?

I have a 98 LTC. My brakes started getting spongy so I had a friend bleed my brakes. They only got worst until I had no brakes at all. I'm not sure what happened but I've tried several times to bleed the brakes however they won't pump up. I've also replaced the booster thinking it might be leaking.however that did nothing to help the brakes . I'm dint know what else to do. Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong! I'm missing work and this car is all I have . Without it , I will loose my job.

First off if you are changing the rotor, use NEW barrings and races ( just a few dollars difference) and NEW grease.... putting the old barrings in on a new race will change the seat of the barring and can eat them up faster. Use a flat screw driver and go between the brake pad and the rotor first and force the fluid back into the brake cylinder before taking the caliper off will save you from having to use a C clamp. and wipe the grease off your hands before handling the new pads. just use this video to show yourself how it comes apart,,,, Not for how it's done!

I pray no one follows this guy, he uses the jack stand for a caliper holder, instead of holding the car up. Grease all over the brake pads as well as the rotor. I could go on and on but, just shoddy work!!!!
