If you own a G35 or 350Z and drive it spiritedly, this is a MUST DO! The performance improvement has to be felt to make all the pain and suffering worth it lol. Seriously. 🤣

Thank you for the kind words!! This is exactly what our channel stands for and how we hope to help others just like yourself! We are the First Timers so we like to take on challenging tasks such as this for the first time and showing the obstacles you may face that others may skip through in their videos. It may look unprofessional to the viewers but we aren't about that, trying to be real. If and when you attempt these jobs, make sure to have a helping hand! It's possible to do by yourself but man would it be 100x harder. We appreciate you as a viewer!! 🙌🤝👍🤜🤛

Thanks for commenting! It was a real pain but it made a HUGE difference in shift feel. I would imagine it to be even better if you go solid bushings but might be overkill for a daily driver. Good luck when you take on this task and if you have any questions, hit us up!

Did you upgrade the sway bars or are the factories ok? I’m doing the front suspension today and I’ll do the rear in a couple weeks. Great video
@FirstTimersChannel
@FirstTimersChannel Жыл бұрын
The sways were left stock. I believe on the 05+ models they were made slightly stiffer than the 03/04 model years. To complete the setup sway bar upgrades is recommended but I'm satisfied with how it feels considering I drive it on messed up roads. Upgraded sway bars would make the ride stiffer but would definitely help while cornering in the canyons. Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video!

3/7/2024: Do you know if this bushing will fit the FX35 2009? Or could you say where you got this bushing from, so I can try to fix my infinit fx35.? Thnx.

@@FirstTimersChannel yes the differential tends to jerk when you reverse gear or want to go slow, bought this one becouse was cheap but was a mistake, now spend more money and time 😓

Hmm I think I know what you are talking about. I just was thinking it may be my old engine mounts or trans mount causing a little slop. Also stock 2 piece driveshaft. But do let us know if changing to white line helps your issue! I'm curious to know this. Thanks!

Bro I literally have the Z1 kit and it’s taking a huge amount of force to get the outer sleeve out. Almost impossible on your back…
@FirstTimersChannel
@FirstTimersChannel Ай бұрын
I hear you! Heard the Z1 kit was supposed to make it easier. I can't say for myself as we made a make shift kit. Tried banging it out with a chisel but trust me the hack saw method got that outer sleeve out for me while on my back lol. It's a huge PITA and I more than likely will never want to do that ever again on any G35 unless the whole rear subframe was dropped off the car. Good luck man, just keep at it. Imagine how much you're saving right now by doing it yourself. That usually makes the blood sweat and tears worth it 🤣

cut the center bushing with a sawall , around then , cut the sleeve separate , with the sawall , cut lines in it then , tap it out with a punch , cut 2 lines , then

How many miles on the car? I didn't see any evidence of leaking fluid from the bushing but it can fail anytime. One hammer blow can take out the two front bushings. The diff bushing is another story. You can drill it out, burn it out or use a sawzall to get the bushing out. Many use a sawzall to cut the bushing shell and then bend it in and remove it. There are handles for hacksaw blades. Too bad you didn't show the finishing of the Diff bushing. I was curious to see the retention method on the bolt as Prothane wants you reuse the OEM retainer and about every other company has a washer that goers inside the bushing and maybe a sleeve. But the Prothane bushings are really inexpensive compared to every other supplier.
@FirstTimersChannel
@FirstTimersChannel 3 жыл бұрын
The car has 151k on it right now. I've read that the diff bushing is filled with fluid and that if you don't see any then it must have busted a long time ago and has since washed away. In response to the retention method, you do use the OEM sleeve. You can see me holding the sleeve here => kzfaq.info/get/bejne/prV7ha6Xu6vWm40.html . That gets pressed into the diff bushing, no washers were used. You then use the stock nut, if I remember correctly it was a 17mm and you'll need to use a deep socket 17mm to reach it due to the stud.
@FirstTimersChannel
@FirstTimersChannel 3 жыл бұрын
Another thing to mention... there is a comment below from "miguel galvez" who claimed there was a small lag, slack feeling when shifting. I too feel the same being on the Prothane bushing. He has since changed to Whiteline and is liking it. I was just going to get a diff brace instead of changing the diff bushing out.
@amazoidal
@amazoidal 3 жыл бұрын
After seeing a video of the Z1 bushing flexing under acceleration, I would go for the solid or semi-solid bushing. Even with urethane, the entire rear assembly twists too much.

Honestly I’m struggling to fit the diff back in lol, the two bolts on the diff aren’t lining up for me😭 it’s like just barely off
@FirstTimersChannel
@FirstTimersChannel 3 жыл бұрын
It helps if you have another person to push up on the diff while you align the holes. If you're by yourself, use a jack to hold it up and use a big flathead screwdriver. Put it through one of the bolt holes and try to pry it into alignment. This task was hard for me too man. I feel your pain!

@FirstTimersChannel
@FirstTimersChannel 3 жыл бұрын
@@CcS2o9 If you have an air gun or battery powered impact.. it may help with driving the bolt through if you have it close enough. It's hard to use a wrench while trying to hold up the heavy diff in position at the same time. Just make sure to grab a couple threads first to avoid cross threading.
