I still have a Tonka dump truck that my mom brought me back in the early seventies. It's not rusted like this truck but the grill is beat up a little from my imaginative childhood. It is my oldest possession. Tonka really did build tough trucks. Don't laugh but I always called my truck "Big Trucky". Shoutout to Tonka.

Very nice work on the highway snowplow truck but, it's the wrong color Sir. You should've painted it Okie Orange (look it up, it's an actual color) and traditional for County or State highway trucks. Again though, very nicely done.

Nice job! I wonder if this toy is worth that much to spend that much time on. I worked as a toy repairman, mostly working on 50's, early 60's Japanese battery op toys. It was the most enjoyable job I ever had... and was blown away by the intricate mechanisms, designed to not only be made as cheaply as possible, but to fully function reliably. In some cases, I had to do modifications to add reliability... a weaker or stronger spring... and sometimes, I I used a stronger spring, I had to alter the structure, change gear ratios.. but it was so satisfying to see these toys restored to full function. My bosses didn't pay me very well, but even then, they'd complain that they were paying me more for my repairs than the toy was worth. I was concered. Being a mom & pop business, I could see their point, but I was determined to get these toys working like new... so much for perfection... Needless to say, they used my services less and less. I miss that job dearly. The others I worked with were so talented. They are tinsmiths with the most incredible skills, with attention to the most minute details... the mind boggles. The gal doing the paint could match any color or patina, do perfect pin striping, free-hand work. What an honor.
