So, I went to davahad's channel and saw the Austin video from 3 years ago and that is VERY concerning. I also read the comments underneath and some of them are also very concerning - especially kissmissthis's comments about receiving 5 damaged units... THAT is garbage! I don't think that ever happened in 15 years I when I worked at a dealer that sold Austin units... Me reviewing older Austin units is GREAT in one way to show they last over 15 years, etc. in the real world.... however, "The only constant is change" and if their units in 2024 are NOT as good as 15 years ago - then I don't want to promote a brand which is "living off it's previous reputation" so to speak. Because I would then be "misguiding my viewers" at that point and that is NOT my goal, at all. I am supposed to be helping them. So, it is a little tricky for me - I'd have to purchase a new Austin Air Healthmate unit and run it... but I ain't currently rich, LOL! I'm currently looking to buy about 4 new units to run in my space and evaluate over time and that is gonna cost some $$$.... maybe I will eventually have to get an Austin Healthmate, as well, so I can evaluate the most recent version. I love that they are an American manufacturer but with that comes even more of a quality responsibility, IMO. If you are an American manufacturer charging higher prices - then your quality NEEDS to be good... if you want Americans to support you and your typically higher prices for labor and materials, etc. The higher prices should = BETTER QUALITY, IMO. THAT is what we are paying for, right? Good question. We lived in a brand new home - literally only 1 year old when I was having the dust issue coming from the ducts. And I'll add... Interestingly enough, I have spoken to many people through the years who did get their ducts cleaned and - many seemed to have bigger problems after the cleanings, for some reason. Thanks!
