Agreed. Potato makes everything look pretty, Ian gets all nerdy and dirty. Potato lets you know how to find them and what they are worth, and anything you would want to know as an owner, while Ian is focused on what they meant to the military, etc of their day.

I bought one of these about 10 years ago at a flea market. It was very much like the standard pistol shown. Mine had Horn Grips that were checkered. I paid $60 for it.

The full size was probably designed to use the 32 acp being a service pistol and alot of euro nations used 32 so the Hungarian pistol could use enemy ammo as well as their own where other pistols couldn't use the 32 frommer

I would like to add 3 comments to your excellent review: 1. there was no rubber grip version, late war production used bakelite grips to ease down production. 2. There is no spring around the barrel, both springs are located in the upper tube. 3 . Frommer was not driven with long recoil all time, this was the last model to use long recoil. His later models (29M, 37M) are blowback operated. Otherwise congrats on your pistols, you rarely find them in such outstanding condition any more in Hungary.

I love these bolt-in-tube guns. I shot a Finnish Lahiti L35 (made by Husqvarna). I loved the setup and I stated that this style of action should come back with the desire for the tactical shooters wanting to put micro red dots on their pistols. Alas they won't, because The Market is hung up on Colt-style massive steel slides moving around.

Your videos are so great. I really do enjoy the history of old guns. I don't own any. But I just got my first carry gun and love it. I want to start collecting like you do. What era would be my best bet. I don't have a lot of extra money but I would start saving for sure.

Long recoil guns do have an unusual felt recoil impulse. I have both a Browning A5 shotgun and a Remington M81 rifle, .300 Savage. The recoil is not bad, but it definitely has a strange "feel", like it lasts much longer than it should.

I came here because of battlefield 1. My favorite pistol in the game and a really cool gun in real life. Was used by the Hungarians even in WW2. I just love the way it looks.

Rubberized plastic grips came first, with wood later? Usually its the other way around; Though there's certainly nothing usual about this gun. :P Do you have any production dates available? As I understand it, some of the more unique designs made in Eastern Europe continued into the 1950's before production was devoted to guns of the new 'standard' calibers.

@Dies1r4e7 жыл бұрын
he is right you know. but i think that is what you were TRYING to say? slow down a bit you seem like you drank one to many cokes before doing this lol. Keep up the good work and effort man! Long recoil travels barrel and bolt all the way to the rear, then the barrel travels forwards. the shell is ejected, then the bolt follows it home scooping up a new bullet

I think they named it stop because it's when they finally realized Frommer should stop making pistols. None of his designs were any good even at that time.
