With the UAD 8.6 release, UAD have a new Fender Amp Plug-in, The Fender 55 Tweed Deluxe. Paul Drew looks at this fantastic little amp model and goes through a couple of the tones.

Great Demo, I loved how you showed the options in the console section, with tube screamer. So often the signal chain in console is not mention on so many of the plug in tutorials out there. Wish I could see more relating to that. Thanks.

So the plug-in has that horrible crackle in it or user gain stage error... either way sounds like recorded crap.

So if I have Apollo 8, and download the version 8.6 software, I automatically get Fender 55 Tweed Deluxe Plugin? Or do you have to buy it after downloading the software. Reason I am asking is because I downloaded the software tonight. When I checked "My UAD Systems link," I didn't see the Fender 55 Tweed listed among my other plugins- ??? The notices for UAD 8.6 seem to indicate you get it automatically when you download the software. Is there something I am missing here? Thanks--- Great Video!

So, what's causing the "fluttering" sound at around 0:55 and 1:25 ? Is the input being driven too hard from the guitar, or is it the mic levels in the plugin?

That is digital clipping due to shitty audio production. Source - I'm a qualified audio engineer. Ignore ForEveryone lol

So what if you don't etc have Apollo you can't use this amp modelling. I have focusrite 6i6 2nd gen. Is this a software version bound just to Apollo device's. Or can etc people with etc Focusrite 6i6 2nd gen also get the fender 55 Tweed Deluxe Plugin? If not, can other find anything similar?

Hello everyone, the issue with the distorted input present in this video is something that I have trouble with as well. I had this issue not only with plugins but also with budda head with rivera load box and blackstar emulated output. This is driving me mad as it is unusable for recording. I am using Tokay Love Rock DoubleCut. I would really appreciate if somebody could help me understand what is wrong and how to solve that. Worth to mention this issue is happening even if input gain on Apollo shows 50 percent. In all the testing it seems the problem is present if adding preamp/gain not necessary volume. It is most present when rolling down the volume on the guitar to 1 or 2 - then volume of the good signal is low and the hiss/rattle/distortion is high. I think I could hear that in a real combo amp as well but was not very audible. Anyway, any feedback would be great. Thanks in advance!!

I have this problem on all UA amp Sims. Can't find any solution to it. I've tried with and without pre amps, putting limiters on the input channels, etc. But nothing gets rid of the harsh clipping sound. Makes it impossible to get the cleaner tones. ☹

Just fantastic sound. Paul I've got a question. I get way too much bass when I'm trying out the UAD 55 Deluxe. When I set it as you do in your video, with the tone all the way down, it sounds like it's under water, buried in bass. Seems to be true for single coils and humbuckers. I've had this experience with a lot of guitar plugins, and feel like I miss out on a lot of the tonal capabilities, trying to just get things clear, and not having enough leeway to get great grind sounds. The grind you got with the UAD 55 Deluxe is just great, and I'd love to be able to do that. I have the Apollo Twin, running on OSX in logic pro x, if that's at all helpful. thanks!

+Doug Fischer Hi Doug, Ive got to say i haven't noticed this, Have you tried a different guitar to see if you are still experiencing the same problems? Another thought have you got something in the inserts of the apollo that would do this?

Thanks Paul. I have tried a couple of other guitars (strat, lp and tele so far) and all seem to get that same muffled sound with the Tone control all the way down on the UAD Deluxe 55. I don't have anything on the inserts. I'm starting to wonder if it's some kind of impedance problem? Maybe something wrong with the suit input on my Apollo? Might that result in something like this do you suppose?

when you say the tone all the way down, do you mean with the tone rolled off? If so you would get that sort of sound. If not i'd get your apollo looked at best Paul

Amp sounds great, but demoing a pluging with reverb on it, and not mentioning there is an extra plugin adding to the sound, is a bit misleading.

does this work in Ableton Live or only in Apollo?

You can use it as a plug-in in ableton or any other DAW as a post effect if you own an Apollo or other ua interface or a satellite. However it’s primary function is to be put on the unison channel of the console so when you record into ableton the sound is ‘burnt in’ to the track and can’t be changed, like a real amp. If you own a Apollo device however I highly recommend Luna. Unison is integrated and the workflow is great, plus the neve summing is out of this world.

Sounds like there's speaker rattle going on!! That would make it unusable for me, any way to turn that off??

Dude the speaker rattle is so annoying. I own this plugin and that rattle makes it unplayable. Belive me I've tried many things. maybe I should conntact UAD about it.

It is not a speaker rattle, the input volume of the guitar is clipping, just turn down your volume knob and enjoy! I use this plug-in and have crystal clear clean tones.
