I still can't get over Valerie Harper passing away. RIP, sweet little angel. You will never be forgotten.
@craigsmith1574 жыл бұрын
@Cheryl Young Just because she was 81 (actually 80 but that's besides the point) it means one is not supposed to grieve and be saddened by her passing? My grandfather passed away when he was 92 and it took me a long time to come to terms with it. You can be saddened and grief stricken for the death of someone who was 80 equally as much for someone who'd passed away at 30.

Kass Ayala Yep! We had great shows back in the day! Every night, there was something worth turning the tv on for in the 70s. We had some cool, memorable shows in the 80s & even a few in the 90s too. But as I write this in 2017, it seems like tv's great heyday has passed. I'm so thankful for KZfaq! There are a few channels that show retro tv shows but it's usually just the same few shows repeatedly instead of expanding to include more old tv series we used to enjoy.

Kass Ayala I was nine when this show aired as a spin off of the MTM Show, yes we kids from the 70's had great shows to watch, Saturday night on CBS was always "Mary Tyler Moore" "All In The Family" "Maude" and "The Carol Burnette Show" I actually remember watching the premier of "Saturday Night Live" with my two older brothers.

Mike Bibeault I agree! I put off watching this because I assumed this particular episode wouldn't be all that funny but it actually was. Mostly hilarious due to Ida. Lol. She's a trip. PS: Ok, how many times is that 1 glass of wine gonna get re-poured? It was Ida's, then she put it in a fresh glass for Marion's date, & then at the end, she was pouring it in Rhoda's glass (who by the way didn't need more wine since being tipsy was the whole reason Ida & Martin had to come get her.)

belia1313 Lastes The 'kind of' guys are better because they are often 'kinder'. As in life, there are no easy/foolproof keys, clues, fixes or answers. Often there are 'tells', 'red flags', warning signs and especially, watch out for anyone who is "too good to be true". A good thing to do is listen to or research other people's experiences, behaviors, those 'Ted talks', etc. And always take everything with 'a pound of salt'. Trust your instincts, but remember, if you're from any type of abusive background or experience (especially a child witnessing adults/caregivers/parental abuse) your safety issues may be lacking or screwed. (Also, regarding love/hate/indifference, IF YOU LOVE YOUR ABUSER, (example: your father), YOUR FEELINGS ARE NOT WRONG, but THERE MUST BE SERIOUS, SEVERE, CUTTING OFF (ENDING/STOPPING CONTACT UNTIL >AS A CAPABLE ADULT LIMITED CONTACT maybe only still by phone or letters, address withheld, CONTACT BETWEEN EQUALSWHICH WILL BE 'AHEAD TRIP', BECAUSE THE ABUSER IS A MANIPULATOR). To repeat, you can still love the perpetrator, IF THAT'S IN YOUR HEART, BUT NEVER LEAVE A VICTIM TO BE VICTIMIZED. Sometimes, I put certain comments in 'unusual' places, but when I feel motivated, that's what I do, usually comments are about Jesus or death, so consider yourselves 'lucky', lol! Seriously, concerning death, 'LOVE. NEVER. DIES.' The love of your 'loved ones' who have 'passed on' before you (even the minutes old babies, when you meet them in Heaven, you will be amazed at their personalities, their family resemblance, etc.& you'll say, "I knew you were going to be brilliant!"), not only lives on forever, but grows stronger in remembrance (even the fighting & hard times, you'll eventually remember with tears of understanding & laughter!)

Whoa! At 15:22, when the ex-wife offers Rhoda another glass of wine, Rhoda says "No, I don't think so, MAR!" (Her pet name for Mary Richards). Slip of the tongue that the producers missed?

I love what Rhoda's wearing. She could rock it...

I'm so glad that this popped up in my YT feed right between two nauseating "Election Results" videos. My mental health is already better after watching this. In fact, I am going to escape back to the 70s for the next few months. No more main stream fake news and other garbage. It's so soothing to live is a fantasy world.

Yea Carlton is one funny guy even when he says dumb things to mary

To Rhoda not to Mary. Carlton is usually drunk.

I used to watch this show with my mom who also fell in love as if we knew these characters in real life. 💖

Remember in “Romy & Michelles High School Reunion” when they got into a fight over who was like Rhoda & who was like Mary- implying that Mary was the prettier one.....I always thot Rhoda was so much prettier. She looks beautiful in these episodes. ....Mary was great but Rhoda was also funnier.

Exactly. I love Mary, but Rhoda is my favorite and I can never get over how pretty Valerie Harper is.

Lovely to see this. I used to love Rhoda and the show Valerie did with Mary Tyler Moore. She will be sadly missed, seems like a lovely lady. The show has aged well. TFS

Don't know why Rhoda is insecure after meeting the ex-wife. She's WAY better looking than Marian. Funny, I know Valerie Harper's name, but I can't think of the name of the actress playing Marion. Joan Van Ark. Just watched the credits.

That happens a lot in shows where the main girl character is insanely pretty but she's jealous of another girl. Yeah, I don't get it.
@sandrajovic77355 жыл бұрын
I don't think she knows she's pretty, or maybe she does. I'm missing something, no for real. Maybe she's not jealous...

Marian isn't special looking at all. #notbothered

There’s a fundamental disconnect between the insecurities of a character like Rhoda, and the fact that she was played by a really good looking woman, Valerie Harper. You just have to go with it and pretend that Rhoda/Valerie isn’t beautiful.

Many beautiful women have insecurities. Many have hang ups about their looks just like regular people. All people have their problems. The emphasis on looks in society is way too important for all of us.

Wow I use to watch this show it’s one of those blast from the past shows I really looked forward to.
